At the cliff house, Steffy and Liam laugh and kiss while choosing paint colors for the baby's nursery. Pleased to see Liam so eager to help decorate the nursery, Steffy promises to make it fun for him and offers more kisses. He laughs that it's working. When Liam talks about doing their part for the Spencer dynasty, Steffy notes that Bill did his part by siring two wonderful sons, despite Katie's health issues. Liam guesses his dad won't be making any more babies anytime soon. As the lovebirds playfully consider monkeys and a safari theme, Liam mentions how his dad took a day off for Katie the other day. Steffy thinks that's so not Bill, but Liam thinks his dad changed since Katie's last scare and is all about family, just like him. Steffy digs out Liam's barbecue apron, with the logo "Real Man" emblazoned on it, and puts it on. Liam declares that the Grillmeister's ready to fire up the grill. Steffy tells him they have veggies, ribs and his favorite beer. They banter in faux-caveman speak about starting the grilling, but Steffy chuckles that she has everything she wants right there. "And here," Liam says, pointing to her belly. Steffy decides to drop by and see Thomas, who just moved into their mom's beach house, and come right back. Liam offers to make his famous mystery barbecue sauce while she's gone. Steffy says that this is her life, with a barbecue, a baby and a husband who makes her so happy, and it makes her feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

At the beach house, Thomas and Oliver observe a sullen Hope and decide to get her mind off Liam... if they can. Thomas tells Hope how great it is to be living there now that his mom's over at Eric's, with Oliver as his roommate. Hope sees a motorcycle outside and asks Thomas when he got it, but he explains that he's holding it for Steffy. Oliver asks Hope what they can do to make her smile, with Thomas joining in as well, but Hope just sighs.

Soon after, Maya, Teresa and a co-worker named Donovan arrive. Maya worries about surfing for the first time, but Hope assures that Donovan is a great teacher. Donovan asks Hope if she's surfing today, but she's not up for it. Oliver tries to change her mind, but she tells him to go ahead without her since she doesn't need a babysitter and is fine. Hope watches as Oliver talks with Teresa, who gushes with praise and admiration for Hope and raves about being able to work with Hope and Maya to represent Hope for the Future. After Donovan offers some pointers, Maya and Teresa are ready to try out the waves. Thomas tells them and Oliver to go on ahead, and he and Hope will catch up.

In a business meeting in his office, Bill gives the brush-off to a handful of his employees. Alison tries to get her boss' attention, but he tells the employees to leave their proposal on his desk and dismisses them. Alison notices that Bill's mood is different and asks what's wrong. He tells her that he walked in on an emotional moment between Brooke and Donna at Forrester and sensed something off with Brooke, like she was trying to hide it. Alison observes how worried he is about his sister-in-law, noting that he and Brooke became close during Katie's bout with postpartum depression and wondering if that bond has become something more. Bill tells her about Brooke helping him after the car accident, admitting that his marriage was not in a good place at the time. Alison asks if things are better now that he and Katie have recommitted themselves. Bill tells her that he loves his wife very much. Alison asks about Brooke, but Bill warns that it's not in her job description to worry about that and urges her to keep this conversation just between them. Alison assures that she will. Bill tells her that he'll be right back and leaves.

In Rick's office, Donna asks Brooke what she intends to do about being pregnant with Bill's child, since Brooke didn't answer last night. Brooke tells her to stop, but Donna cautions that Brooke can't hide this for long. Eric comes in, looking for Rick; Donna reminds him that Rick and Thorne are meeting with their new Thai silk supplier.

After Donna leaves, Eric apologizes to Brooke for interrupting but admits he's glad he did, since he can see she's upset. He guesses menopause is the reason for Brooke's dour mood, but Brooke informs him that Dr. Caspary said it's actually not menopause. She starts to tell him more, but then she stops herself, claiming that physically, she'll be fine. Eric asks her to tell him more, but Brooke says that she can't right now. Eric assures that he'll always be there for her, whatever it is, and he asks her to never forget that.

Bill stops by the cliff house to make sure his elder son isn't wasting his day off from work. Watching Liam hard at work making barbecue sauce, Bill asks where Steffy is. Liam says that Steffy will be home soon, so he has to get the grill fired up. Bill takes that as an invitation to stay, but Liam hints that he wants to be alone with Steffy. Bill admires how much Liam is into Steffy and their unborn child. Liam compares it to Bill's devotion to Katie and Will. Bill comments that this is how he always knew it would be for Liam, since that thing with Hope was just... Liam sticks a spoon of barbecue sauce in his dad's mouth to hush him. Laughing that the sauce is pretty good and admiring Liam being a model son, husband, father-to-be, and super chef, Bill declares, "I am proud of you." Liam hopes this doesn't mean a hug coming, since his ribs are still recovering from the last one. Bill gives him a hug, anyway. Bill then kids Liam about his black apron, explaining that real men wear white aprons to see the mess, and then he rubs sauce on Liam's face and announces, "That's a real man."

Thomas tries to convince Hope to go surfing, but she thinks she should go before she says something bad about his sister. He points out that she hasn't said anything bad... yet. She laments that she gets angry and sad knowing that Steffy is living the life that should have been hers, so she just needs time and space to deal with it her own way. Thomas sees her point, so she goes to get her bag and tells him that she'll slip out the back. While Hope gets her things, Steffy arrives and is pleased to see her brother getting settled in. Thomas tells her that he was about to join Oliver and some friends for some surfing. Steffy says that she'd like to go, but Thomas tells her that she should be knitting booties right now, not hanging ten, or maybe she should be hanging out with her baby daddy. In the other room, Hope overhears as Steffy raves to Thomas that her time with Liam right now, nesting and preparing for the baby, makes her feel like she has it all. Hope tears up as Steffy announces, "This is the best time of my life!" Thomas and Steffy exchange "I-love-yous," with Thomas pleased to see his sister so happy. Steffy assures that he'll find someone. He hopes it will be easier than it was for her and Liam. Steffy thinks she should be getting back to her hubby for some "cha-cha-cha." Thomas offers to walk her out. Hope returns from the other room and sits on the couch, sobbing; she hears the door open and sees Steffy there.
