Brown was quick to thank ABC for making the move possible in her tweet on Twitter. Although she is about to leave her current role on GH in early October, Brown was still officially under contract to the ABC soap until January, 2010, but ABC agreed to release her from her contract early so she could tkae the role on B&B. B&B Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley P. Bell also thanked ABC in the release. Per an announcement from B&B, Brown's character of Sandy will kick off a story-arc surrounding Bridget, Nick and Whip "that will touch on a very specific woman's issue and emotionally touch the hearts of the B&B audience." Betty's vast body of work includes her work on sitcoms like The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls as well as her portrayal of Stephanie and Pam's mother Ann Douglas on B&B that ended on a high note when Ann passed away in November. And the actress might be busy again on the sitcom front in the future: TV Land recently announced a new pilot called "Hot in Cleveland" which would feature White. The pilot stars Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick as "three fabulous, LA women of a certain age and best friends" whose "lives are changed forever when their plane unexpectedly lands in Cleveland." The women then attempt to rediscover themselves in this new "promised land," moving in under under one roof and battling their sassy, property caretaker, played by White. Betty's role would be recurring if the pilot is picked up as a series. The World of B&B congratulates Betty on her SAG Life Achievement Award and hopes the "Hot in Cleveland" pilot gets picked up as a series. (Jan 17, 2010)
The season premiere of "Ballando" won the night in ratings on the evening of Saturday, January 9 in Italy with an average share of 29.75%. Ronn Moss' dance performance of the Quick Step achieved the highest audience numbers of the show with a peak of 7.3 million viewers. (36.54% market share). The show began with a 32.19% market share with 6.2 million viewers. He was elegantly dressed in a tuxedo, and did not miss a step of his routine. In the end, Ronn was tied with three other competitors for 7th place after the technical jury's scores were tabulated, and was not in the bottom four. After the final audience voting tabulations were combined with the jury scores, Ronn was not eliminated, but he did not achieve immunity. Ronn has largely been the main focus of the reality show's media campaign, including magazine covers and features. Ronn was on the cover of Gente (the first time a B&B actor graced the cover of this magazine), and the magazine Gioia covered Ronn with a four page feature (the first time this magazine covered an actor from B&B). Ronn will commute back and forth from Rome, Italy, where "Ballando" is broadcast live every Saturday evening, to Los Angeles from now until the end of March, in order to tape B&B Here are video excerpts from the broadcast, which feature behind-the-scenes footage on the B&B set that were recorded last December, and Ronn's performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzxsxMAs7Dc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCUeViNLsTA You can also catch video clips and inside tidbits from Ronn's wife Devin at http://devronnsblog.com/. Ronn is appearing on Italy's version of "Dancing with the Stars" and over the next three months will be making trips back and forth to Rome nearly every weekend. It will be a big challenge for him because he will also be doing B&B and practicing dance routines with his partner here at home. Although reps for B&B would not confirm, a source told CBS Soaps in Depth that Ronn will only be available two days a week to tape B&B while appearing on the Italian dance program. Ronn and Devin recently flew to Italy just before Christmas, while B&B was on its annual year end hiatus, and they have spent their time there combining sightseeing and a honeymoon with Ronn's dance lessons and preparations from the dancing show. Ronn's first appearance on the Italian version of DANCING will be on January 09. (Jan 02, 2010)

B&B Executive Producer/Head Writer Bradley Bell said in a statement, "Kimberly is a vibrant and talented young actress. I look forward to seeing her bring Hope to life." Bell added, "Aging the character of Hope to a teenager allows us to bring the next generation of Logans to the forefront, as well as play a broader range of the Forrester vs. Logan story." Bell states that Hope's presence at Forrester Creations, as well as in Brooke and Ridge's home, sparks an intense competition between Hope and her step-sister Steffy that creates new conflict between long-time rivals Brooke and Taylor as each woman is determined to protect her own daughter. Although the casting was announced today, Matula actually began taping The Bold and the Beautiful on November 19, 2009. Her first airdate is scheduled for January 11, 2010. Kanan would not comment on buzz that he has met recently with B&B Executive Producer/Head Writer Bradley Bell, but he did say that he is still a fan of B&B, and he also commented that the aging of Hope (see above) "would be a wonderful catalyst" to bring her bio-dad Deacon back to B&B. But is there more to it? TV Guide Canada's SUDS REPORT looked for answers and heard from a source, "Kyle went so over-the-top with his performance earlier this year, which was lampooned on The Soup, that Brad has no idea what to do with the character. Rick has been ruined. You won't be seeing Rick for another few months." Suds Report also learned that producers from other soaps are reporting that Lowder has been looking for other soap work. So what's the story for Lowder and Rick? Stay tuned. (Nov 22, 2009)
Fans immediately warmed to the Emmy-award winning actress, best known for her roles on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls, when she first appeared on B&B in December, 2006 as Stephanie's mother in the story that introduced Ann and Pam and revealed Stephanie's childhood abuse at the hands of her father. One big hurdle might have been the fact that Don now sports a beard as Bill, but Brad was clean shaven. But that wasn't a problem after all, Soap Opera Digest reveals. "B&B had just started a five-week hiatus, so I was able to shave off my beard, do the Y&R scene and then grow my beard back while on vacation," Don told SOD. He also joked that some of his former Y&R castmates almost didn't recognize him, since they often see him in the studio with the beard since B&B tapes right across the hall from Y&R. (Sep 27, 2009)

The ceremony was the culmination of three days of festivities organized by Sicilia Mondo, a worldwide organization devoted to the promotion and preservation of Sicilian culture. It was officiated by the city's mayor, Sindaco Antonio Lo Presti, and attended by thousands of members of the public and numerous local press. A celebratory procession through the streets preceded the ceremony, with the Gareis family riding on an ornate horse-drawn Sicilian cart, accompanied by the music of a traditional Sicilian band and a medieval flag-waving troop. During the procession, Gareis and her family were besieged for autographs by the throng, and many handed their small children to Gareis to hold for photos. After the ceremony, Gareis saluted the crowd with cries of "Viva Militello!" as fireworks lit up the sky. (May 15, 2009)

A New York native, Diamont lives in Los Angeles with his fiancée, Cindy Ambuehl, and their children. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, cycling and playing basketball. After his niece, Alyssa, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), he founded the Don Diamont/Alyssa Mazur Foundation at UCLA’s MS Research and Treatment Center to raise funds for MS research. Beverley McGarvey, programming executive for Channel Ten which airs B&B, says the show (which began screening in 1989 in the 1pm time slot) will be closely monitored over the non-ratings summer period. "It's just a trial," Ms. McGarvey said to Australia's DAILY TELEGRAPH. "The Bold And The Beautiful is hugely successful, people love it, it rates so well in its slot and we get an awful lot of feedback about people who can't watch it because they're at work. So we thought summer was an opportunity to try and see whether the people who watch it at 4:30pm could still watch it at 6pm. (Nov 30, 2008)

In May, Flannery went to Peapack, NJ to observe the new production model on GL, which is now taped at real life locations in the New Jersey town using hand-held cameras. At that time, she expressed an interest in directing an episode of GL, so their executive producer, Ellen Wheeler, invited her back. Flannery told TV Guide that she's "fascinated with the level of reality Ellen Wheeler has brought to the show." Flannery added, "It's the wave of the future. I don't think B&B can necessarily do this. We're more of a romance novel. But, GL is a slice-of-life show, and Ellen has taken everybody's idea of what soaps should be and blown it out of the sky." Flannery predicts all daytime serials will have to modernize in similar ways if they are to survive. Wheeler said that her cast responded well to Susan and would like to have her back again, but that will of course depend on her B&B schedule. With Stephanie back in the thick of things on-screen, a return to direct GL will have to wait for a time when Susan isn't needed on B&B. (Sep 28, 2008)
Ashley was last seen on B&B in early July and her absence has not been noted on air, although recent episodes of Y&R have stated that she is in Europe on business for Forrester Creations. (Aug 31, 2008)

B&B executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell included the following in a memo to the cast and crew of B&B: "Jerry was a close personal friend of mine and the best man at my parent's wedding. He has been and always will be an important part of our lives, our shows, and our family. He had a zest for life and lived his gloriously. A true ad man and writer, Jerry loved everyone and everything at Y&R and B&B, and was very proud to be a beloved member of our shows. Jerry's quick-wit and vibrant sense of humor will continue to resonate in our hallways, on our stages, and in our hearts. He is already greatly missed." Birn's wife, Patty Weaver Birn (Gina, Y&R), was by his side when he passed away on what was also the date of their 15th wedding anniversary. His daughter Laura Bryan Birn appeared as Y&R's Lynn from 1988 to 2004. A memorial service is being planned for January 2010. (Dec 10, 2009)
“Darlene understood better than anyone that each moment of airtime was precious”, said Bradley P. Bell, Executive Producer and Head Writer of The Bold and the Beautiful. “She constantly entertained us with every move, every breath, every inflection of her voice. Whether she was the villain, the damsel, the sexpot, or the comedienne, Darlene was brilliant. An extraordinary actress of film, radio, stage and television, my family had the privilege and honor of Darlene gracing our shows for three decades. She was truly one-of-a-kind. We will miss her beyond measure.” Born in Chicago, Illinois on July 18, 1934, of Irish-German heritage, she was discovered at age 15 by legendary Broadway impresario Jed Harris who cast her as the Irish maid in a touring production of the 19th century melodrama The Heiress, which starred Basil Rathbone. After graduating high school, she toured the country with classical theater companies before appearing in Shakespearean roles on Broadway with the Helen Hayes Repertory Theater. She later appeared in a Broadway revival of the Night of the Iguana, with Richard Chamberlain, and in David Merrick’s musical The Baker’s Wife. Her Los Angeles theater credits included Cyrano de Bergerac and Night of the Iguana (both with Chamberlain), The Time of the Cuckoo with Jean Stapleton and Ring Around the Moon with Michael York. A varied film career followed, starting with her being cast in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds." Daytime television became home to Conley, who once said “It (daytime) is really the best medium today for women of a certain age to do something really flashy; it’s where what we do well as actresses matters.” Conley portrayed Edith Baker on Days of Our Lives, Louie on Capitol and Trixie Monahan on General Hospital before being given the role of the nefarious Rose de Ville, by the late William J. Bell, on The Young and Restless. When Bell co-created The Bold and the Beautiful with his wife Lee Phillip-Bell, he envisioned a special role for Conley, the role of Sally Spectra. Conley showcased her dramatic range and abilities with the character, and over the years has portrayed an exotic repertoire of offbeat flamboyant characters within the role. As Sally, Conley was a master of disguises including Mae West, a German spy, an Italian gigolo, a nun, and even a rendition of another B&B character, Massimo Marone. For her portrayal of Sally Spectra on The Bold and the Beautiful, Conley was nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards and six Soap Opera Digest Awards. Additionally, Conley has the distinction of being the only daytime star to be chosen by the world famous Madame Tussaud’s to have her character, Sally Spectra, displayed in their gallery of wax figures, in both Amsterdam and Las Vegas. Conley is survived by her son, Raymond Woodson, ex-husband Bill Woodson, sisters Carol Fontana and Sharon Mylan, a host of nieces and nephews, her long time friend and caretaker, Eva Hansen and her manager of 24 years, Sandra Siegal.
Bell began his career in television in 1956 writing for Guiding Light before co-creating Our Private World and Another World. He was also a writer on As the World Turns from 1957-1966 and later became the head writer of Days of Our Lives in 1966. In 1973, while Bell was still the head writer on Days of Our Lives, he and his wife, Lee Phillip Bell, created The Young and the Restless. The series has been the Number One daytime program week after week for more than 16 years and has received numerous Emmy Awards, including six for Outstanding Drama Series, most recently in 2004, three as a writer for The Young and the Restless, five as the show’s producer and one as a writer for Days of Our Lives. Bell received the Governor’s Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS).. In 1987, the Bells co-created the hit CBS daytime drama, The Bold and the Beautiful. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist Lee Phillip Bell. He is also survived by their three children, Bill, the president of Bell Dramatic Serial Company and Bell-Phillip Television Productions, Inc.; Bradley, head writer and executive producer of The Bold and the Beautiful and Lauralee, an actress on The Young and the Restless, as well as his grandchildren, Liam, Sabrina, Chasen, Caroline, Charlotte and Oliver Bell, and Christian and Samantha Martin.
