Katie tries to reassure her sisters.
In Eric's office, Katie works on a press release to address the fact that Stephanie and Bridget are working for the competition. Donna and Brooke kid that they should add a few comments about how thrilled they are that Stephanie is gone. Seeing she's getting no help from her sisters, Katie suggests that they decide what to say about Bridget being Madame X. Brooke isn't sure, since she was as stunned as everyone that Bridget gave up medicine to become a designer. Donna asks why Bridget would go work for Jackie rather than join her family at Forrester. Brooke explains that Bridget wanted to make a name for herself on her own, and she respects that. Donna asks Katie how she feels about Bridget working with Nick. Katie admits she was surprised to find out that Bridget was was working at Nick's company as Madame X. Donna asks if that made her feel insecure or jealous, but Brooke cuts in and points out that Bridget is just focused on making a new life for herself. A life that won't include Nick, Katie qualifies, but Donna and Brooke exchange concerned looks. After Brooke leaves, Donna apologizes to Katie for stepping out of line with her question. Katie notes that Brooke always leaves whenever they talk about Nick, and that makes her wonder if Brooke would rather see Bridget with Nick over her. Donna thinks that Brooke as a mother just wants Bridget to be happy, but Bridget won't find that happiness with Nick. She tells Katie to look at the rock on her finger if she needs a sign of Nick's commitment. Katie says that she knows Nick loves her, but she still can't help wondering when their big day will be.

Nick has concerns about Bridget's date with Owen.
Nick finds Bridget in Jackie's office trying on bikinis. He asks what she's doing. Bridget tells him that she's getting ready for a date. Nick offers her a suit with a little more material as an alternative, but Bridget doesn't like his choice and takes another bikini from the rack for her first date since their divorce. Nick tries to find out who the lucky guy is. He's shocked when Bridget reveals that it's Owen. Bridget doesn't see what the problem is, since Owen is sweet and thoughtful and handsome - and more importantly, she likes him, and he likes her, too. Nick doesn't think Owen is her type, but Bridget tells him that it's none of his business. Nick thinks he has a right to be concerned as her boss, but Bridget reminds him that he's engaged to her Aunt Katie and asks if they set a wedding date yet. Nick growls that he's been too busy trying to save this company to set a date, but Bridget doesn't think that should be an issue now that her designs are selling. Nick hands her another swimsuit that covers more of her up, but Bridget hands it back to him and suggests that he set a wedding date now that the company's financial picture has improved. Nick asks if there's someplace she's supposed to be. Bridget thanks him for the reminder and turns to the door; on her way out, she points out that Owen has made as favorable an impression on Jackie as he has on her.

Owen is stunned that Jackie's not worried about his dinner plans.
Jackie drives Owen home since his car broke down. After she walks him to the door, Owen thanks her with a smooch, but Jackie suggests that they cool it rather than start something they can't finish. Walking out onto his patio, she listens to the ocean and suggests that he and Bridget share a romantic dinner on the patio. Owen can't believe that she's not freaking out about his dating another woman. Jackie guesses that he's never dated an older woman before. Owen confirms that he hasn't, but he thinks he might have if he met one like her. He kisses her on the cheek and on the neck. While Owen changes clothes, Jackie lights some candles for him and flashes back to night she seduced Owen in her bathtub. Owen returns and is impressed by the romantic setting she created for him. She tells him that he'll become an expert in things like this if he keeps hanging out with her and gives him a steamy kiss. "Good luck on your date with Bridget tonight," she whispers. Owen asks how she can wish him luck with another woman after a kiss like that. Jackie says she's just being sporting and asks for a full report from him in the morning. Owen doesn't think so. Jackie warns that he probably won't get anywhere tonight, since Bridget still isn't over Nick. "We'll see," Owen laughs. Jackie wishes him luck again and gives him a goodbye kiss before leaving.

Bridget is touched by the romantic dinner Owen prepared for her.
Soon after, Bridget arrives with the salad she promised to bring. Owen tells her that the steaks are on the grill. Bridget looks around and sees the lit candles. That reminds her of the last time she came here, when she thought he had company for dinner. Owen assures that he's all hers tonight. A bit later, Bridget sets the table as Owen, wearing just a pair of shorts and a "Kiss The Cook" apron, brings in the steaks. Bridget raves that the steaks look perfect. Owen points to his apron and tells her that she has to "kiss the cook" if she likes the steaks. Bridget hands Owen a glass of wine and they toast to the future. She then tells him that this is the first date she's been on since her divorce. Owen promises to make it special for her, but Bridget tells him that he already has. While they eat, Owen asks her to tell him about what happened with her and Katie, but Bridget doesn't even want to mention her aunt's name. When they're done eating, Owen suggests that they go for a swim, but Bridget doesn't think that's a good idea given that he got a nasty cut on his arm the last time they went swimming together. Looking over the arm where he had the cut, she asks if he remembers her pouring tequila on it to kill the infection. Owen pretends not to remember, so Bridget asks if he remembers "this" and kisses him.

Jackie questions her son's feelings.
Jackie returns to the office and finds Nick there with the rack of swimsuits. She asks why they have swimsuits there when they're working on the fall collection. Nick tells her that Bridget brought the swimsuits in and is wearing one of the bikinis on her date with Owen. Jackie detects a hint of jealousy in his voice. Nick tells her that he doesn't need another lecture about Bridget, but Jackie points out that she's been too focused on other things to butt into his personal life. Still, she can't help wondering if Bridget's going on a date with someone else bothers him. Nick assures that it doesn't, but Jackie asks if he's sure his feelings for Bridget aren't keeping him from marrying Katie. Nick states that he and Bridget have both moved on, but Jackie believes that Bridget still has feelings for him, even if she's on a date with Owen. Nick disagrees, but Jackie urges him to consider that she might be right and ask himself if he wants the woman who was meant for him running off with Owen.

Brooke has some questions for Nick.
Later, Nick sits alone in the office and daydreams about happier times with Bridget. Brooke comes in and asks if she can talk to him. Nick tells her that her daughter, Madame X, already left, but Brooke says that she's here to check on him since they haven't talked since Bridget started working here. She confides that she's worried about Bridget's sudden decision to quit medicine to work as a designer at her ex-husband's company. She's especially concerned because Nick is engaged to Katie, so she asks what - or who - is keeping them from setting a wedding date. Nick tells her that they may share Jack, but his personal life is his own business. Brooke tells him that she can't butt out since her sister and daughter are involved. She reminds Nick that they have a complicated history, but she's always admired his honesty. Nick asks what she's getting at. Brooke tells him that she knows her sister, so she's sure Katie is wondering why they haven't made wedding plans when they've been engaged since Christmas. Nick reminds her that he's been busy keeping this company afloat. And he's been able to succeed thanks in part to Bridget, Brooke points out, wondering if Bridget's choice to work here instead of at Forrester had anything to do with her residual feelings for Nick. Nick tells her to talk to Bridget about that, but Brooke doesn't want to play games given how he hurt Bridget in the past. Nick assures her that he's marrying Katie, but Brooke wants to know when that wedding will be, and she bets Katie wants to know, too. She knows he loves Katie, but she also knows he still has feelings for Bridget. And while she realizes that Bridget chose to break up with him, she wonders if he'd go back if Bridget offered him the chance. "I think you would," she speculates.
