Stephanie is delighted by Pam's error.
As Pam frets about her clerical mistake with the marriage license application, an overjoyed Stephanie tells her to keep her error between them for right now. Ridge comes in and asks Pam if the envelope in her hand has the papers he needs to sign. Pam stutters and covers that she does need him to sign some papers, but the ones in her hand are just old recipes she needs to file away. Stephanie chimes in that Pam said something about approval forms for the showstopper for the next fashion show. Ridge says that Eric needs to sign off on that design and leaves to take a call. Once Ridge is gone, Pam asks Stephanie why she didn't say anything about the marriage license. Stephanie explains that she needs time to figure out how to handle this, since Pam's screw-up could be salvation for Ridge and Taylor. She then instructs Pam to shred the application for a new license and leave the invalid license with her. "This little gift of yours may enable me to get rid of those Logan girls forever," Stephanie gloats.

Meanwhile, Taylor sits at home looking through photo albums from her first wedding to Ridge. She wonders how she let Ridge slip away and thinks she would do it all differently given the chance.

Thorne talks with Ridge.
Thorne enters Ridge's office and finds his big brother on the phone, cancelling things for Rick and Steffy's wedding. Thorne bets Ridge is relieved that Rick and Steffy are through. At the same time, Thorne is disgusted that Rick is still around as president of the company. Ridge says he can stomach Rick in the office knowing he's away from Steffy, although he realizes it's been hard on Brooke since Rick is her son. Thorne asks Ridge how he handles the woman he loves being forever connected to that arrogant jerk. Ridge says that he and Brooke made a commitment to each other, for better or worse, and that gets them through. Thorne is glad to hear that Ridge's marriage is still solid through all the chaos with Rick. Ridge thinks this might have broken him and Brooke up when they were younger, but they've grown up and they're in a place where everything works. Thorne envies Ridge and wonders if he'll ever find someone to grow old with. He's a bit jealous that Ridge has a great relationship with two women, Brooke and Taylor; it's almost like Ridge is married to two women, except one is legal and the other isn't.

Brooke wonders what Stephanie is up to.
Brooke enters Eric's office and finds Stephanie there. She's stunned since Stephanie vowed never to come back. Stephanie says that she came to congratulate Ridge on breaking Rick and Steffy up and getting Steffy to see Brooke's "little son of a bitch" son for who he really is. Brooke doesn't want to get into this since it's over, but Stephanie asks Brooke if Ridge's dislike of Rick has taken a toll on their relationship. Brooke says that she and Ridge are working through it and wonders what Stephanie is up to. Stephanie says she's just commenting on Brooke and Ridge's marriage, especially in light of what went on with Rick. Brooke assures that she and Ridge are committed to each other, but Stephanie points out that she knows better than anyone how quickly a marriage can fall apart. Brooke needles Eric on not being married to Eric and not being the matriarch of the company anymore. Stephanie hardly sees Eric's "trophy wife" as a matriarch, but Brooke says that she, not Donna, will step into that role, since she and Ridge are the signature couple of the company. She knows Stephanie tried to groom her precious Taylor for that position, but it didn't work out. Now, she and Ridge are in love and are married, and she's as sure that they'll confront their challenges as she is that she's Mrs. Ridge Forrester. Stephanie wishes "Mrs. Forrester, the new self-proclaimed matriarch" luck, but Brooke thinks Stephanie will need that luck at Jackie M. Stephanie tells Brooke not to underestimate Jackie M, especially since it seems like Brooke is turning this place back into an underwear shop. Brooke argues that Brooke's Bedroom is profitable and tells Stephanie to go back to Jackie M. Stephanie agrees to leave, but she finds it interesting how things can change in life, especially when you're sloppy and make mistakes. She warns "Little Miss Matriarch" that anything can happen and leaves.

Pam shows what she thinks of the lingerie line.
Later, Pam is shredding the marriage license application (as Stephanie asked) when Thorne stops by and asks if his mother is still there. Pam tells him that Stephanie bolted out of there a while ago like a woman on a mission, guessing that her sister wanted to get as far away from any Logans as humanly possible. Thorne can't say he blames her. Pam agrees that it seems creepy with Stephanie gone and with Logans lurking around every corner. Brooke comes out of Eric's office and starts walking across the hall. Pam stops Brooke to ask if she's looked at her crocheted purse designs. Brooke blows her off and tells her to leave the designs on her desk before ducking into Ridge's office. Pam tells Thorne that she's already left her designs for Brooke twice, so she's getting ticked off that she keeps being ignored for the lingerie line. Thorne warns her to be careful. Pam assures that she won't do anything crazy; she doesn't think she'll have to. Pam gives Thorne one of his memos that she typed up for him. Thorne thanks her and says she didn't have to do that. Pam says she was glad to do it since she has plenty of time on her hands with Brooke, Rick and Katie all blowing off her crocheted designs these days. Thorne reminds her to be careful about her feelings toward the Logans, as two of them are married into the family. Pam hints that things can change in an instant. Thorne asks what she means but then notices some typos she made in his memo. Pam laughs that mistakes like that can sometimes be a plus and chuckles that things might change around here with regard to the number of Logans married to Forresters. After Thorne walks away, Pam takes one of Brooke's lingerie pieces and shreds it.

Ridge tells Brooke not to let his mother get to her.
Brooke waits for Ridge in his office and remembers their wedding at the beach. When Ridge arrives, Brooke greets him with a kiss and tells him about her run-in with his mother. Ridge tells her not to let his mother get to her. Brooke says she won't and tells him that she was just thinking about their wedding. She thinks it's important that they get through these difficult times, since that reminds her how much they love each other. Ridge asks what brought that on. She explains that his mom said some really bizarre things about them and their marriage. Ridge is sorry to hear that his mother is still on her case; he hoped her new job would keep her occupied. Brooke assures him that nothing can come between them and Ridge agrees. He tells her that he was just telling Thorne how strong their marriage is. Brooke admits that she would have been insecure in the past, but now things like that don't matter. "You are my husband and I am your wife, forever," she sighs and they kiss.

Taylor is stunned by Stephanie's news.
Stephanie comes home and finds Taylor looking at old photos. Finding photos of Steffy as a child on her soccer team, they laugh about how Steffy kicked Rick out of her life. Stephanie is glad Steffy found the courage to do that and assures Taylor that Steffy will find the right guy some day. Taylor hopes Steffy doesn't share her luck in the love department, but Stephanie says that's about to change. Taylor reminds Stephanie of her intent to respect Ridge's marriage to Brooke, but Stephanie doesn't think they have to respect it. She admires Taylor for standing by her principles and thinks that she needs someone with that kind of strong moral compass to take charge of the family when she's gone. Taylor says that she'll always be Stephanie's friend and confidant, but she can't be her daughter in law anymore. Stephanie asks if things would be different if Ridge and Brooke weren't married, but Taylor doesn't think it pays to think about it since Brooke and Ridge exchanged vows on the beach and went to City Hall after. Stephanie pulls out the invalid license application and tells a shocked Taylor, "The marriage is invalid, so you don't have to feel guilty if you want to go after him. They are not married."
