Donna scoffs as Pam tries to talk her way into the PRICE studio.
Pam tries to convince the security guard at CBS Television City to let her see the producer of THE PRICE IS RIGHT, but the guard refuses. As they walk back to the car, Donna urges Pam to give up on trying to get Forrester designs on the game show and suggests they go back to the office to run the idea by Eric. Pam is convinced her idea is just what they need to get the Forrester name out there and is determined on selling the PRICE producers on the idea. Pam then spots the line of people waiting to be on the show and pulls Donna over to the ticket booth. Donna doesn't see the merit in sitting in the audience for hours in the hope that they'll catch the producer's attention on a break from taping; she points out that sitting in an audience screaming prices isn't professional. Pam refuses to be deterred; she tells Donna that she can get host Drew Carey to help, since she knows Drew will love her idea. All excited at the idea of being on her favorite show and meeting the host, Pam approaches the ticket booth and asks for two tickets to PRICE.

Producers interview Pam and Donna.
Once the ladies are inside, Pam ducks away for a moment. As a studio page brings over their name tags, Pam rejoins Donna, who is shocked to see that Pam has changed into a sweater with Drew Carey's photo on it. Two producers looking for contestants walk the line of audience members to learn more about them. When the men get to Pam and Donna, Pam tells them that she had an appointment to see them, but the men know nothing about it. In answering their questions, Donna seems quiet and uninterested while Pam is overly exuberant in chatting with the men about her background. When Pam starts to talk about losing her beloved dog Tiny not too long ago, the producers move on to the next couple in line. "I'm in. I can feel it," Pam confidently chuckles to Donna, predicting that she's going to get on the show and win a car today.

Donna is stunned when she's called to "come on down!"
When Pam and Donna get to their seats, Pam's exuberance only grows stronger. Pam points out announcer Rich Fields to Donna and starts whispering her name in the announcer's direction, hoping her powers of suggestion will get Rich to call her to "Come on down!" Pam explains her plan to bid $1 when she gets to Contestants' Row, since most contestants overbid when guessing the prices of the prizes up for bid. Donna scoffs at the idea and looks around the studio, laughing at how excited everyone is. She tells Pam that she plans to decline if she's picked to play the game. Pam doesn't think Donna has to worry since the producers want exciting people on stage and would never pick someone like Donna, who was a cold fish during her interview. Donna retorts that they might want someone who is crazy and not just excited, in which case Pam fits the bill perfectly. The game gets started and Rich Fields starts calling people to "Come on down!" When the first three names are called, a delighted Pam cheers for them, but Donna just sits in her seat. But then Donna is called as the fourth and final contestant for the first round. Donna excitedly shrieks, jumps out out of her seat and hugs Pam, who looks crushed. As Donna takes her place on Contestants' Row and Drew Carey takes the stage, Pam has a dejected look on her face.

Bridget questions Owen about his proposing to Jackie.
In Jackie's office, a stunned Bridget asks Owen about his proposing to Jackie. Owen insists that he wants to spend his life with Jackie, but Bridget predicts that Nick will see the proposal as a bid by a gold digging Owen to get his job back and latch onto Jackie's money. Owen insists that he isn't a gold digger, but Bridget doubts Nick will see it that way. Owen remarks that he would marry a woman without a domineering son if he wanted to fleece a wealthy woman of her money. He insists that he loves Jackie and intends to marry her.

Nick throws a fit about his mother's engagement.
Meanwhile, in Nick's office, he throws a fit about Jackie's engagement to that "kid" Owen. Jackie reminds him that he's quite a bit older than Bridget, but Nick counters that Bridget isn't a con artist trying to take advantage of a wealthy woman who fired him. Jackie reminds Nick of all the sacrifices she made for him over the years; she thinks it's time she looked after herself for a change and tells Nick to stop acting like a petulant child. Nick warns that she's only going to get hurt emotionally and financially if she goes through with this joke of an engagement, but Jackie insists she is marrying Owen and tells him to get used to it. Nick asks if she and Owen opened a joint bank account. Jackie tells him that she's no fool; she fully acknowledges that her money initially drew Owen to her, but she insists that her money isn't what keeps Owen staying with her. Nick asks if he has to call Owen "daddy" and take orders from him. Jackie says he can call Owen anything he wants as long as it's respectful. She informs Nick that Owen is coming back to work at Jackie M, because she wants him there.

Jackie defends Owen to Nick.
Bridget and Owen enter the office and interrupt the argument. Bridget congratulates Jackie, but Nick tells Owen to forget about any notion of marrying his mother. Owen says that's up to Jackie. Jackie asks her son and fiance to please work things out cordially, but Nick sees no reason to be cordial with a man out to milk her for her money and orders Jackie to keep Owen out of the company. Jackie insists that Owen is staying. "I guess it's either him or me," Nick states. Jackie whispers that she'll miss having him here. Bridget argues that neither man should have to leave, and Owen agrees. Jackie thinks most people would agree, but not her overprotective son. She declares that no one is leaving, because she sees no reason to choose between her son and her lover. Jackie then asks Nick why he can't be happy for her. Nick says he wants to see her happy, but not if she is being taken advantage of. Owen tries to defend himself, but Nick informs him that Jackie has a tendency to lean toward younger men when she is down and reminds Jackie about Deacon Sharpe. Jackie thanks Nick for his concern, but she insists that Owen is not Deacon. Nick agrees, qualifying the Owen is more subtle and manipulative and cunning. Jackie assures Nick that she's not rushing into anything with Owen, promising that she will remain in control and she won't be taken advantage of.
Bridget tells Nick they should get some air, so they leave. Owen sits down next to Jackie and puts his arm around here, He promises that she won't be disappointed that she stood up for him and tells her, "You can trust me," assuring that they will have a great life together. Jackie tells Owen that she'll be right back and goes to freshen up. As soon as she is gone, he starts to pace nervously around the room, but then Nick returns and proclaims, "This engagement's gonna end." Owen faces Nick, who adds, "It's gonna end very soon, and not in marriage. There will be no wedding."
