Taylor promises to help Ridge through his problems.

At the Big Bear cabin, Taylor keeps trying to comfort Ridge, who fears that he's now lost both his daughters. Taylor assures him that they will get through to Steffy and promises to help him through this. When Taylor brings him some tea, Ridge vents about how upsetting this whole thing with Rick and Brooke has been for him. He thought the worst was over, but seeing Rick walk in with Steffy set him off all over again and he just couldn't take it anymore. Taylor promises that they'll deal with this together, just like they dealt with losing Phoebe and with handling Thomas's issues. Ridge laments that Brooke claims to understand, but she didn't come through for him when he needed her support. He feels like Brooke betrayed him. Then he came to Phoebe's grave, feeling lost, and he didn't expect to find Taylor there. All he needed was to be close to someone who would love him unconditionally. He thanks Taylor for bringing him to the cabin, since it's just what he needed.

Brooke tries to reach Ridge, but she only gets his voice-mail, so she leaves a message. "What am I going to do?" she sighs to Rick and Steffy. Rick tries to reassure her that everything will be OK once Ridge takes some time to cool down, but Brooke fears that Stephanie will use the fact that she and Ridge are not legally married to interfere and bolts out to find Ridge before Stephanie does.

Pam predicts an end to the Logans' reign.

In Eric's office, Stephanie tells Pam that Eric asked her to return to Forrester. Pam is thrilled until Stephanie says that she turned Eric down. She admits she got some satisfaction just from the fact that Eric asked her back, although she thinks it might have been worth accepting Eric's offer just to watch Donna implode. Or to watch her implants explode, Pam laughs, predicting that the high and mighty Logans might soon get what's coming to them. That can't come fast enough for Stephanie, especially where Brooke is concerned; she prays that Ridge finally walks away from Brooke and goes back to Taylor, who understands him and can give him what he needs.

Rick wants to fix the mess he made.

Back at Brooke's, Steffy and Rick worry that they've never seen her dad or his mom like they were earlier. They fear their attempt to be open and honest only made things worse. Rick says he caused this mess, so he has to fix it, but Steffy reminds him that Brooke told him to stay away from Ridge. Rick points out that whether he likes it or not, his mom is only happy when she's with Ridge, and at the same time, he reminds Steffy that she hates it when he and Ridge are at odds. That leaves him with no choice but to make this right. Steffy notes that he really has changed. Rick says he's working on it. Steffy senses something else is bothering and asks what it is. He confides that they might have a bigger problem on their hands, since her grandmother hates the idea of them being together and also hates his mother. He fears Stephanie might make a mess of things if she finds out Ridge walked out, so he hopes that she just stays out of this.

While Pam returns to her desk, Stephanie gets a call from Taylor, who fills her friend in on what went down between Ridge and Brooke. Stephanie can't believe that Brooke again chose Rick over Ridge and hopes Brooke doesn't try to put some spin on it with Ridge yet again. Taylor says that she turned off Ridge's cell phone, so Brooke won't be calling anytime soon; she thinks that's a good thing, since she fears that the mere sound of Brooke's voice might set Ridge off again in his fragile state. Stephanie is glad Ridge is with someone who understands him like Taylor does. Taylor says that she has to go and ends the call.

Brooke argues with Stephanie.

Brooke barges into the office calling out for Eric, asking if he's seen Ridge; she's surprised to see that Eric isn't there, but Stephanie is. Stephanie asks Brooke if she's having trouble keeping tabs on her husband. Brooke tells Stephanie that she knows about the invalid marriage license and wonders why Stephanie isn't out bragging about it on her blog. Stephanie chuckles that Brooke isn't up to date about her blogs and changes the subject back to Brooke's troubles with Ridge over Rick. Brooke tells Stephanie to butt out, but Stephanie bets that Ridge is relieved right now that he's not legally married to Brooke. Brooke asks Stephanie if she's spoken to Ridge. Stephanie says that she hasn't, but she knows what's going on. She thinks Brooke is scared senseless that Ridge angrily walked out on her over Rick given that they're not legally married. When Stephanie makes a remark about a talk she and Taylor had, Brooke realizes that Stephanie told Taylor about the invalid license. Stephanie finds it interesting that Ridge chose not to correct a simple clerical error that could easily be fixed and thinks he did that to put Brooke on probation - and now Brooke failed that test. Brooke argues that an invalid license doesn't mean she and Ridge don't have a future, and Ridge even told her that, but Stephanie thinks the situation with Rick and Steffy will put an end to that future.

Ridge takes some more of Taylor's pills.

As Ridge brings some things in from the car, Taylor notices how much better he looks since taking the anti-anxiety pills. Ridge agrees that he's starting to feel human again, and being here with her has helped with that. While Ridge goes to put Taylor's car in the garage, Taylor gets a call from Steffy. Steffy tells Taylor how upset Ridge is. Taylor informs Steffy that she knows, since she is with Ridge now. Taylor asks Steffy how she could even think about being with Rick after everything that happened. Steffy tries to tell Taylor that Rick is in therapy and has changed, but Taylor insists that the relationship is taking its toll on Ridge and begs Steffy to end it before it kills Ridge. After ending the call, Taylor goes to the other room for a moment. Ridge returns from stowing the car and puts Taylor's car keys in her purse. Spotting the bottle of anti-anxiety pills, he pops a few more down. Taylor returns and suggests that they stay here a few more days until he feels better. Ridge says that he is feeling better. Being here with her, he feels like he can see the light again. Still, he's worried about Steffy. Taylor tells him that Steffy called and is worried about him, too, but he wonders if she is worried enough to leave Rick. He tells Taylor that Brooke could have stopped all this by supporting him as he asked, but she couldn't do that. As much as he loves her, after what happened today, part of him is actually almost relieved that his marriage to Brooke isn't legal. Taylor asks if he really means that. "Maybe I do," he responds.

Rick reassures Steffy.

Rick finds Steffy sitting in the living room, looking upset. Rick tries to reassure her, but she frets that her parents might never see how much he has changed. Rick admits things didn't go as they planned, but he's not giving up. He vows to make this happen and make believers out of her parents, and they kiss.
