Eric asks Stephanie to come back to Forrester.
Eric asks Stephanie to come back to Forrester because she's missed. "You miss me like a toothache," she quips, pointing out that he fired her. Eric says that's a mistake he intends to rectify, since she created at least half the company, but Stephanie contends that she doesn't belong here anymore. She tells him that he made his choice picking a young trophy wife over her, and that has consequences, especially since he kicked her out of the company. Eric reminds her that she put him and the company through hell, but Stephanie thinks they're even after she went to bat for him with Bill.

Stephanie gives Eric some harsh words.
Eric disagrees and says that there is a place for her at Forrester, but Stephanie tells him that she can't work side by side with Donna and watch her outrageous behavior. Truthfully, she thinks it's more than just Donna; she thinks the blame in part lies with Eric and tells him to step back and look at how his behavior with Donna reflects on the children, the company and all their employees. She doesn't think she can tolerate that. She admits they once shared something special, but she deserves better than to be part of their ruining the company's reputation with his behavior, especially since she found something better at a new company. "I don't want to be here," she states. Donna comes in and Eric asks her to give him another moment with Stephanie, but Stephanie says they're done and leaves.

Brooke defends Rick and Steffy to Ridge.
Ridge urges Brooke to tell Rick and Steffy that she forbids them to be together, but Brooke can't do it. She's sorry, but she can't stand in the way of Rick and Steffy's relationship any longer. Ridge asks if she cares how he feels. Brooke says she understands how he feels, but their children have strong feelings for each other and are adults who can do what they want, regardless of whether or not their parents approve or not. She hopes Ridge can understand how she feels, since she can't stand in the way of Rick and Steffy being together. Steffy pleads with her dad to hear them out, but Ridge refuses. Brooke begs Ridge to give the kids a chance, but Ridge looks to her why she's not supporting him after everything that has happened. Unable to look at Rick and Steffy together, he orders them to leave!
Once Rick and Steffy leave, Ridge asks Brooke how she could betray him by condoning her son having a relationship with his daughter. He insists that Rick is a threat to Steffy, but Brooke disagrees. Ridge tears into her for not seeing her son for what he really is. He can't take it anymore. He told her time and again that Rick was the only thing that can break them up, and now Rick has done just that. Brooke pleads with him to calm down so they can work on this together, but Ridge fumes that they're not together and are on opposite sides. "I'm done. I've had it," he proclaims. Brooke asks him not to say that. Ridge tells her that he'll always love her, but he won't tolerate this, especially when Rick is a threat to his sanity. Growing frustrated that Brooke doesn't seem to care about how he feels, he storms out. Brooke rushes to the doorway and calls out for him to wait, but he speeds away in his car.

Ridge finds comfort from Taylor by Phoebe's grave.
Taylor is alone by Phoebe's grave when Ridge arrives. Taylor sees how upset he is and asks if something is wrong, so he he tells her that Rick is going after Steffy again. The worst part, he explains, is that Brooke is supporting that relationship, and he doesn't understand how she could do that knowing how much he needs her support. Fed up that Brooke doesn't give a damn, he tells Taylor that he left Brooke. Taylor comforts him and tells him that everything is going OK. She assures that they will get through this and find a way to keep Rick away from Steffy, because she, too, does not want Rick anywhere near her daughter. Ridge is glad he has someone who agrees with him. Walking over to Phoebe's headstone, he laments that Brooke just doesn't see why he can't lose another daughter to Rick. He just can't take it anymore. Thinking about how much he wishes he could have Phoebe back, he fears that the same thing is going to happen to Steffy. Taylor tells him to calm down, promising that they will find a way to protect Steffy, but Ridge fears that Steffy will do something with Rick behind their backs, and he can't believe that Brooke won't do a thing to stop it. Taylor offers him an anti-anxiety pill that her doctor prescribed for her after Phoebe died, stating that it will take the edge off. Taylor then offers to drive him home, but Ridge doesn't want to see anyone, especially not Rick or Brooke. Taylor understands, but she thinks he needs time to level out. She tells him to come with her, promising to be there for him.

Taylor promises to help Ridge heal.
Taylor drives Ridge up to the Big Bear cabin, since she thinks no one will think to look for him there. Ridge is skeptical, but she assures him that she will help him deal with this and take care of him. When they get to the cabin, Taylor asks Ridge if the pill she gave him has kicked in yet. Ridge confides that his mind is still racing with thoughts about what could happen with Steffy. He asks if he's overreacting, but Taylor doesn't think he is. She can see where Rick would continue to defy him, even after all the times they ordered Rick to stay away from Steffy, but she just doesn't get why Brooke refuses to put a stop to this and instead condones her son's behavior. Ridge confides that he's told Brooke how he feels, yet she still continues to support Rick. Taylor asks Ridge where Brooke's compassion for him is and wonders why Brooke just can't see that he is still mourning the loss of a daughter. She thinks that not having Brooke's support has impaired his ability to grieve the greatest loss of his life, because he's keeping his feelings in check. She tells him that he can't heal if he's holding all that stuff in. Ridge us glad she understands. Taylor says she understands more than anyone and asks him to let her help him heal.
Brooke tries to call Ridge, but his back is turned, so he doesn't see his cell phone light up. Taylor, however, sees the phone sitting on the table. Seeing that Brooke is calling, Taylor thinks to herself that Brooke has done enough damage and reaches for the phone to stop the call. Taylor then sits next to Ridge and promises, "I'm here for you always."
