Taylor is surprised to see who her new patient is.
Taylor sits in her office and deletes her online dating profile. Her receptionist comes in to tell her that her new patient is here. Taylor looks up at the door and is stunned to see that her patient is Whip! When she asks what he's doing here, he chuckles that he made an appointment, although he admits he fudged the name a bit. Taylor reminds him that they decided not to pursue a relationship, but he counters that SHE made that choice and he never got a vote. Taylor balks, but he argues that she, as a doctor, can't turn away a man in dire need of help. Taylor rolls her eyes at the thought of him needing help, but he insists he can't deal with rejection and needs her talent and training to help him recover. "You want me to lie down?" he asks. When Taylor sighs, he lies down on her couch and asks her to sit so they can get started. "No one has ever died from being turned down for a date," Taylor states, but Whip refuses to let anything get in the way of what could be the best second date in history.

Whip pleads his case to Taylor.
Whip suggests that they settle this later over drinks, but Taylor reminds him that therapists can't socialize with their patients. Whip asks if she's going back to the Internet to find a date. She inform him she deleted her account, since dating isn't a priority right now. Whip tells her she's too beautiful and vibrant to shut herself off from the world, but she claims she might not be ready to date so soon after her aborted plans to re-marry Ridge. Whip contends that Ridge was a fool to let her go, but he'd actually like to thank Ridge for going back to Brooke, since that gave him the chance to... He moves closer to her and pauses to ask her what she thinks. She warns that he'll need to find another psychiatrist if he wants to stand so close to her. Whip suddenly feels a lot better. Smiling, he tells her that he'll call her and leaves.

Nick and Brooke stop at Insomnia for coffee after reviewing the scholarship applications. Brooke suggests some next steps, but she sees Nick is distracted and asks what's wrong. He sighs that he's worried about Sandy or Agnes or whatever her name is. With Bridget getting so attached to Sandy, he needs to find out everything he can about his surrogate ASAP.

Brooke and Ridge discuss Sandy and other things.
Brooke heads home and finds Ridge waiting in their bedroom. He tells her that he and Thorne took the kids Christmas shopping at Macy's, where Aly mailed a letter to Santa. After a plug for Macy's giving $1 to the Make a Wish Foundation for every Santa letter mailed from the store, they talk about the magic of the holiday season. Brooke kisses Ridge to thank him for being such a wonderful husband and father; she just hopes Bridget and Nick will be as lucky as they are and will have no surprises with their surrogacy. While showing Brooke some gifts he bought, Ridge asks about her visit with Bridget. She reports that her daughter is glowing, even if she's not the one who's pregnant. Ridge asks if she met the surrogate. When she says she did, he asks what Sandy is like. "She's a bit of a mystery," Brooke describes. From that vague response, Ridge senses some concern about Sandy. Bringing some wine, he asks if she wants to talk about it. It's just that Sandy is so guarded, Brooke confides, and that worries her given how closely Bridget and Sandy's lives will be entwined. Ridge assures her that everything will to be fine, because Bridget has the best mother in the world and the baby will have the best grandmother. Brooke just wants everything to go well for Bridget, especially after the pain of losing Nicole. Ridge tells her to relax, but she fears her life is going by so fast, and she doesn't want anything to change. Ridge laughs that he'll still be there beside her when they're old and grey and promises that she'll always be the gorgeous girl he married several times. Brooke reminds him that he had to take his time to get it right. "Boy, did I," he laughs as they kiss.

Bridget is pleased to see Sandy smiling and laughing.
Bridget and Sandy bring their veggie pizza takeout back to Nick's office (which is odd because they thought Nick and Brooke would be working there late on the scholarship applications. Oh, well.). Bridget raves about how much fun she had today, telling Sandy, "You cannot be for real, can you?" Sandy pauses and starts to ask about Nick, but Bridget cuts in and extols about how cool and hip Sandy is and how much they have in common. She's glad they were able to have dinner together. When Bridget asks Sandy about a boyfriend, Sandy is rattled and shakes her head no. Nick comes in and Bridget invites him to join them for some veggie pizza. Sandy offers to leave so Nick can have time with his wife, but Nick tells her not to leave on his account. Bridget hopes nothing is wrong. Sandy says she's fine and agrees to stay. Nick's glad, since he'd love a chance to talk and get to know each other better. As they chow down on their pizza, the Marones ask Sandy about the pregnancy. Sandy shows Bridget a book a friend gave her. When Bridget says she's heard of this book and tries to find a chapter on men's involvement in the pregnancy, Sandy cracks a joke about men getting pregnant. Bridget is thrilled to see Sandy smiling and making jokes and tells her she should smile more often.

Nick asks Sandy how she sees him.
Sandy suggests that the pregnancy is making her uptight. Nick thinks that's understandable, but Bridget thinks pregnancy should be joyful. Sandy starts to worry about what could happen if she gets cravings for things like doughnuts and ice cream. "You can call us-- you can call me 24/7, anytime you want," Bridget offers, reminding Sandy that they're in this together. Sandy thanks her. She confides that she expected to make some extra money and do something decent as a surrogate while also getting swollen ankles and hormone flashes. But what she didn't expect was to find a friend, and she hopes she can call Bridget that. "You better call me that," Bridget answers, reminding Sandy that they're part of each others lives. Nick asks Sandy how she sees him. Sandy says she sees him as a friend, too. Nick is glad, since he wants her to feel like she can talk to him, too. After they finish eating, Sandy wants to head home. Bridget checks in with the nanny and finds out that Jack is running a fever, so she asks Nick if he can drive Sandy home. Sandy nervously says that she doesn't want to put Nick out and offers to take a cab, but Bridget refuses to send a friend hand out alone at night in a cab. Sandy reluctantly agrees and thanks Bridget for including her tonight.

Hearing a noise in her dark trailer, Sandy grabs a baseball bat.
In the car, Nick tries to put Sandy at ease by offering to put on music, but Sandy says she's fine. She thanks him for not telling Bridget about the name change. He admits it would be hard to say anything without knowing the whole story and offers to listen if she wants to talk about it, but she decides she'd rather listen to music after all and turns on the radio. When they pull up by her trailer, Nick offers to walk her to the door, but she says that won't be necessary. Nick tries to ask her some questions, but she tells him to accept that the only thing she has to do is give him a healthy child in nine months. "Let it go now please," she asks as she gets out of the car. When she gets to her trailer door, Sandy sees that it's slightly ajar. Walking inside slowly, she finds that the lights won't turn on. Freaked out, she grabs a baseball bat. Hearing a noise in the darkness, she cries out. "Who's there?!" as she holds the bat in her hands.
