Donna is wary about Pam's supposed head injury.
At the Forrester mansion, Eric and Donna rehash the events around what Pam did. Eric wishes Donna would have found a way to tell him what Pam was doing, but Donna explains that every way she thought of was too risky. That's why she found the strength to break his heart, even though doing so broke hers. She just hopes Pam will be locked away behind bars for a long time. Eric tells her that Pam might not be as crazy as she thinks and explains how the mass of scar tissue found in Pam's head from a childhood injury might have caused her to snap. Donna doesn't buy that and insists that Stephanie came up with that story to keep Pam out of jail, just like Stephanie paid a doctor several years ago to help her fake a heart attack. Eric assures her that this is not like the heart attack Stephanie faked, but Donna doesn't want to wait around for crazy Pam to come after them again, so she heads for the hospital with Eric right behind.

Stephanie doesn't care what Donna thinks.
Stephanie is anxiously waiting for news of her sister when Donna storms in and accuses her of paying someone off to keep Pam out of jail. She asks if Stephanie has a wing of the hospital named after her. Stephanie reveals that she does, but right now she wants to focus on her sister's surgery. Donna asks if she's just supposed to forgive Pam now because of the surgery, but Stephanie really doesn't care now that they know why Pam was acting irrationally. Dr. Brauer comes over to tell Stephanie that Pam is out of surgery, although they won't know the complete residual effects until after she regains consciousness. A nurse calls the doctor over, so the doc steps away. Donna warns Stephanie that despite the surgery, she intends to see Pam behind bars.

Eric and Donna get news about Pam.
Eric comes over and learns from Stephanie that the surgery was successful. Dr. Brauer returns and informs Stephanie that they have to transfer Pam to a state-run facility once it's medically feasible, since Pam is wanted by the police. Donna asks if the mass really could have caused Pam's recent behavior; the doctor confirms that it could have and then steps away again. Donna asks Eric if he really believes this. Eric offers to talk about this more, but before Donna can respond, a nurse comes over to tell them that they can see Pam.

Pam wakes up and asks for Tiny.
Stephanie, Eric and Donna go into Pam's room, where Pam lies asleep. Stephanie walks over and tells Pam that everything is going to be OK. As Pam comes out of it, she asks Stephanie where she is. Stephanie tells her that she just had surgery. Donna whispers to Eric, asking where the police are. He thinks they will be there any minute. Donna whispers that Pam is dangerous and should be locked up, but Stephanie hushes her and tells her not to say things like that out loud, since what happened wasn't Pam's fault. Pam is a homicidal maniac, Donna advises. Confused, Pam asks for her dog Tiny. Stephanie gently reminds her that Tiny died, but Pam says that can't possibly be. Unmoved by Pam's confusion, Donna comes over to the bed and applauds the remarkable performance from the woman who held her at gunpoint, tried to run Beth over and poisoned Eric. "Why are you saying all these crazy things?" Pam sobs, again asking for Tiny.

Bridget and Rick get news about Rick.
Rick is devastated that he is paralyzed and looks to his mother for support. As Brooke stands by him, Bridget asks the doctor to please review all Rick's tests to find out what's wrong with her brother. Ridge approaches the bed, unable to believe this is happening. Brooke glares at him. Brooke then looks to Bridget for answers about what's going on, but Rick spares his sister the trouble and proclaims that no more tests are needed. "I am paralyzed. I am an invalid," he declares. Bridget advises that it could be temporary. Brooke hopes that's true. Rick asks his mom if his being able to walk in six months will let her forgive Ridge. Ridge apologizes to Rick, who tells Ridge to save his sympathy and get out of his face. Ridge reminds Rick that he does care about him and even helped raise him, but Rick counters that Ridge has taken so much from him. Pointing out how Ridge and his siblings always whine about their parents getting divorced as adults, Rick charges that he and Bridget had to grow up with divorced parents thanks to Ridge taking Brooke away from Eric, and then they always had to wonder if Ridge would choose Brooke or Taylor. Bridget reminds him that was a long time ago, but Rick counters that as an adult, Ridge has come between him and women he loves like Ashley, Phoebe and now Taylor. He bets Ridge thinks his being confined to a wheelchair will slow him down, but Rick vows not to let Ridge ruin his life again. He again tells Ridge to get out, so Bridget suggests that they all give Rick some space. Ridge and Brooke leave while Bridget stays behind for a moment to console her brother.
After Bridget leaves, an anguished Rick sits up in bed and flashes back to his violent encounters with Ridge at Big Bear, in Sydney and on the Forrester rooftop. Putting his hands on his legs, he starts to pound on them until he gets so worked up that he falls back on the bed.

Brooke talks with Ridge about Rick.
Out in the hall, Brooke asks Ridge how they can get through this if Rick hates him, especially if Rick will not be able to walk again. Ridge tells her to think positively and believe that Rick will be fine and understand that what happened was an accident. He tells her he's so sorry. Bridget comes over to inform them that she and Rick's doctor looked at Rick's x-rays and see no spinal injuries, so they suspect that swelling around the spinal cord is temporarily impairing Rick's nerves. They are confident that Rick will be able to walk again once the swelling goes down. As Bridget goes to tell Rick, Ridge asks Brooke again if she believes that he would never intentionally hurt Rick. Brooke says she knows. Now that they know Rick will be OK, she hopes the three of them can work through all this, since she needs Ridge in her life more than ever.

Rick tells his mom to get Ridge out of their lives.
Brooke returns to Rick's room and asks if his sister gave him the good news. Rick says Bridget told him, but he still can't share his mom's "Pollyanna" attitude when he's lying on his back and can't feel his legs. Brooke says that he'll soon be fine, but Rick still can't see himself just forgiving Ridge and moving on. Brooke says this is not about Ridge, but Rick thinks it is, citing how Brooke has been consumed with that man since Rick was a child. Rick tells Brooke that he needs her more than ever now, so he needs her to put his needs first and let Ridge go. "Let Taylor have him. They deserve each other," he says about Ridge, begging Brooke to please just honor one request for him. "Get Ridge out of our lives once and for all," Rick pleads.
