Taylor is surprised to find Stephanie in Katie's room.
Stephanie arrives at Katie's hospital room and is surprised to see Taylor there. Taylor explains that she came by since Katie wasn't going to Storm's memorial. Stephanie is surprised Taylor isn't there, but Taylor points out that Brooke wouldn't have liked that. Stephanie chuckles that Brooke probably doesn't want another attractive, intelligent woman in the same room. Taylor asks Stephanie when she became so close to Katie. Stephanie tells her how she came by to see Katie yesterday and wound up spending the night, and she realized that Katie's in a dark place. She asks Taylor if Bridget requested that she come by to help Katie with that, but Taylor says that Rick asked her. Stephanie is surprised and hopes that doesn't mean Rick is dating Phoebe again. Before Taylor can answer, a nurse comes in with a lunch tray but then turns to leave, since she had forgotten that Katie wouldn't be here. "Why not?" Stephanie and Taylor ask. They're stunned when the nurse tells them that the doctor cleared Katie to go to Storm's memorial! Both women wonder what the doctor was thinking in letting Katie go while she's holding so much rage.

Stephanie tells Taylor that she won't wait around for Eric.
Taylor admits that she's still surprised at Stephanie's concern for Katie. Stephanie says they have something in common. "Gunshot wounds from her brother?" Taylor asks. Stephanie assumes Ridge told Taylor, but Taylor says that Rick did. Stephanie scolds Rick for being so loose-lipped with his ex-girlfriend's family and then admits that she might be to blame for this by not sending Storm to jail. Stephanie says she should be going. Taylor asks Stephanie what she's doing these days. Quipping that Taylor sounds like the "annoying best friend" she used to be, Stephanie admits there are a few things she wants to do now that she's not with Eric. Taylor compliments Stephanie on her behavior at Eric's wedding. Stephanie thanks her but wishes she had gotten to show that side of herself to Eric sooner. Taylor tells Stephanie to come by to talk professionally if she needs it. Stephanie thanks her, but she thinks she'll take up skydiving - or more accurately, she won't be hanging around for yet another of Eric's marriages to fall apart.

Katie shows the assembled guests her scar.
A weak Katie stands up at Storm's memorial, talking about what she was taught growing up about heaven being a better place than our world. That's why they have memorial services, she states, so they could convince themselves that their loved ones are at peace and share stories of how they viewed those loved ones. Donna tries to hush Katie, but Katie says she has a right to be here. "His remains aren't complete without me," she says, looking at the box with Storm's ashes. Katie sighs that she doesn't know if she can believe in a perfect heaven, and she sobs as she thinks about a time when pictures might not be enough to remember Storm by. She then turns to her sisters and ask why they're comforted by the idea of her chest being "pried open like a drawbridge" to make room for Storm, since it scares the heck out of her, and she then opens her shirt to reveal the scar on her chest. "This is where Storm lives now," she states. She then weeps about how Storm was both brother and father to her, so she knows he would have given her anything. But she doesn't want his life, because this was all her own fault. She was the one who shot the bullet into her chest. She expresses that she doesn't think, even though he needed help with his issues, that Storm wanted to take his own life. That's why she feels ashamed to be alive. But Storm, as usual, was taking care of her, giving his own heart to save her, so she promises not to make it smaller than it was when it was his and to love others like he would. Moved by Katie's words, Brooke, Donna and Stephen get up to comfort Katie.

The mystery man listens in on Ridge and Eric.
As the service ends, the mysterious young man from out of town makes his way around the room, still dressed like a waiter. He gets close enough to eavesdrop on Eric and Ridge. Eric is glad Katie came, since her brother would only have one memorial service. He thinks this was a good way for Katie to mend fences with Donna. Ridge, however, snipes that he's just sorry the service wasn't short and sweet like he hoped, since he thinks even one memorial service was more than Storm deserved. He knows the Logans needed this, which is why he was there for Brooke just as Eric was for Donna, but these speeches about greater love make him sick. The young faux-waiter continues to listen.

Stephen snaps a photo of his daughters.
Out on the terrace, the Logan sisters all apologize to each other for their recent behavior. Brooke thinks they should all stop beating themselves and each other up, since Storm isn't there to keep them talking to each other. She reminds her siblings how Storm always told them not to put barriers between them up, but that's exactly what they did - and this barrier had his name on it! She thinks the three of them should promise each other that they'll never do that ever again. "I promise," Donna says, taking Katie's hand. Katie and then Brooke follow suit in their pledge to each other. When the girls come back in, Stephen snaps a photo of them with his cell phone camera to show their mother when he gets back to Paris. He asks his daughters if they'll be OK while he's in Paris. Brooke says they will and asks Stephen to give Beth their love. Donna chimes in and asks Stephen to tell Beth that Katie is doing just fine. Stephen says he will.

Bridget thanks Nick for getting Katie to come.
Meanwhile, Bridget tells Nick that she has to be going, but she thanks him for convincing Katie to come today. Trying not to make too much of it, Nick notes that they say timing is everything, so he supposes his was good this time.

Donna is confused by the mystery man's concern.
As Donna looks for Eric to tell him that she's driving her dad to the airport, the mystery man (now in his street clothes again) approaches her to tell her that he's sorry about her brother and can feel her pain in losing Storm. Donna thanks him, although she looks a bit confused by the "waiter's" concern.

Nick offers Katie a hug.
As Nick goes to take Katie back to the hospital, she asks him when he's going to lord it over her that he was right about her coming here today and she was wrong. Nick fumbles for an answer, pretending he doesn't know what he was right about, but Katie tells him that she feels like a different person than who she was this morning. Nick cracks that she just needed a bit of time to get the feel of that new heart they put inside her. Katie thanks him for bringing her here, for knowing what she needed, and most importantly, for being more stubborn than she is. Laughing, Nick asks if they can try a hug. Katie says she'd like that, so Nick gently embraces her. Across the room, Brooke eyes the embrace and watches with interest.
