Eric remembers some old times with Stephanie.
At the beach house, Eric finds nothing but carrots and water in Stephanie's fridge and asks when she's going to go shopping. When she says she hasn't gotten around to it, he suggests she try the place on PCH where they used to go. Stephanie remembers when they used to stop there on the way to the beach with the kids. Eric offers to drive her, but Stephanie tells him that he should forget it and go home to his new bride. Eric scoffs that she's making him feel bad about doing something nice for her. Stephanie says that she didn't mean to do that, but she's just not in the mood to grocery shop right now. She'd rather take a book and some ice tea outside and relax. Eric remembers the days when she would fill her suitcases with books when they went on vacation. Stephanie says that she just loved reading - when she wasn't cleaning and taking care of the kids, that is. She remembers their first place at the beach, which was kind of a little dump. Eric remembers the place and recalls being so tired when they went there that he would just flop down in bed next to her and listen to the waves.

Stephanie gives her ex- some advice.
Stephanie goes outside with Eric and tells him that she's going to miss all the activity of the kids running around the house. That reminds her that she still hasn't given him her set of keys to the house. Eric tells her to keep the keys, since he promised to continue the tradition of having family gatherings at the house and wants her to be a part of that. Stephanie gives in, but suggests that he not let the grandkids catch "Grandma Donna" skinny dipping. Eric laughs that Donna gets along well with the grandkids, so he doesn't see that as a problem. Stephanie asks if Donna wants kids of her own. Eric admits that they haven't discussed it, but he thinks his days of having kids are long past. He offers one more time to get some things from Stephanie from the store, but she tells him again to get home to his bride. She just hopes Donna won't disappoint him. Eric is sure she won't.

Marcus explains to Donna.
Donna is stunned as Marcus again asks if she is his mother. Marcus explains that he was adopted, and he found a picture of himself as a baby with the name "Donna Logan" on it. He tells Donna that when he first searched the name on the Internet, he found many references to her, but he didn't really think she could be his mother until he saw something in her photos. That's why he came to L.A. to make sure. Donna tells him that she's sorry, but it's just not possible. Marcus feels foolish for bothering her and apologizes. Donna tells him not to feel bad, but Marcus is sorry he disturbed her and promises not to bother her again. Donna wishes him luck and he leaves. Once he's gone, Donna sees that Marcus left the photo he brought behind. She picks it up and starts to cry.

Pam doesn't know what Donna is talking about.
Soon after, Donna hears a knock at the door. She thinks it's Marcus coming back for his photo, but she finds Pam there. Donna asks why she's there. Pam says that she was visiting Tiny's grave and brought some papers for Eric to sign. Donna tells her to call ahead next time. "Why? You got something to hide?" Pam asks. Donna suddenly accuses Pam of setting her up! Pam insists she just came by with the papers for Eric, but Donna thinks this has Pam's and Stephanie's fingerprints all over it. She asks Pam where she found the guy that she hired, but Pam doesn't know what she's talking about. Pam hands her the papers for Eric to sign and leaves. Donna again looks at the photo Marcus left and tells herself, "No, it couldn't be."

Donna wonders about her visitor from earlier.
Eric arrives home and asks Donna if that was Pam he saw driving off. Donna anxiously launches herself into his arms and tells him that she's glad he's home.

Katie prepares to be released.
At the hospital, Dr. Patrick prepares to send Katie home. He says she'll need help, but fortunately she has family at home to help her. Katie tells him that she doesn't want to stay with her sisters and asks to be sent to a nursing facility, but Dr. Patrick thinks she should be around people who love her. Katie says she doesn't want to feel like a burden, so the doctor asks if there might be someone else who makes her face light up. Katie doesn't say anything, but she thinks about all the fun times she spent with Nick and the time she kissed him. Since Katie doesn't answer him, the doctor recommends several nursing facilities that can offer first rate care, although he still thinks more personal care is better. He can think of one person who has made her smile and thinks that person might help her successfully recover, but she tells him that her niece just moved in with Nick. Dr. Patrick thinks that's great, since she'll have a doctor in the house, but Katie tells him again that she doesn't want to be a burden to anyone.

Bridget has a suggestion for Nick.
Meanwhile, Nick helps Bridget move her things into the Marone mansion. Bridget thanks him again for letting her stay there. He tells her that it seemed like the next logical step for them, but Bridget thinks some people might say it was too soon. Nick tells her that "some people" don't make decisions for him and thinks it's going to be great. They share a kiss. As they sit down to talk, Bridget tells Nick that she feels badly for Katie, who is being released today. She thinks Katie has been through a lot, even with her progress at Storm's funeral, and will be in need of a lot of help. "That help should come from us," she states. Nick asks if she's saying that Katie should move in with them. Bridget confirms that she is, since she knows Katie won't want to intrude on either Brooke or Donna. "She's my family and needs a place to recover," Bridget argues. Nick asks if she's sure, since she just moved in. Bridget says she's sure. She knows Katie had a crush on him but doesn't think it will be a big deal, and she thinks her medical knowledge and his sense of humor would make this the perfect place for Katie to recover in. Nick says that's painful, but it's also the truth, so he agrees, and they head off to the hospital.

Nick and Bridget plan Katie's "escape."
Nick and Bridget arrive just as Katie is being wheeled out by a woman from the nursing facility. Bridget and Nick ask Katie where she's going. Katie says she's going to a nursing facility, but Bridget tells her to forget that and come home with her and Nick. Dr. Patrick is pleased to hear Bridget and Nick's offer, but Katie argues that she'll just be in the way, especially since Bridget just moved in. Bridget and Nick won't take no for an answer, even when Katie points out that amount of extra care she will need. Bridget reminds Katie that she's a doctor, so she knows a thing or two about medical care. Nick quips that he can play nurse, but Katie tells them to concentrate on their own lives and let her get on with her own. Nick and Bridget still protest. Dr. Patrick chimes in that the home is an excellent facility, but personal care would be better. The woman from the home proclaims that the forms are all filled out, so it's time for her to take Katie to the home for her orientation. Nick lies that he's Katie's attorney and asks to see the forms. When the woman goes to get them, Nick jumps behind Katie's wheelchair and pushes her to the elevator. Bridget thanks Dr. Patrick for his help and follows close behind. Katie protests, but Bridget points out that she's the doctor and orders Nick to get them out of here. "Okay, you win," Katie concedes, adding that she's actually the winner here. She thanks Nick and Bridget as they wheel her off.
