Brooke learns that Donna had a son.
On her way home from Nick's place, Brooke stops by Forrester Creations to see Donna, who has something to tell her. Donna confides in her big sister that something unexpected has happened and confesses that she had a son during that semester she spent away from home in high school. Brooke is stunned to learn that Donna kept this secret from almost everyone for all these years. Donna admits that she should have told Eric about this before they got married, and she supposes that she's no better than Stephanie given all the secrets La Forrester has kept from Eric. Brooke assures Donna that this one indiscretion pales in comparison to anything Stephanie has done. She agrees that Eric has to be told, but sees no reason that Donna has to tell him immediately. Donna explains that she can think of one reason to tell Eric now: her son Marcus is working here at Forrester!

Steffy fills the adults in on what Pam told her.
Marcus comes into Ridge's office with some packages and finds Steffy sitting at her dad's desk. Steffy quickly hides Marcus's personnel file and asks if he's still mad at her for all her questions about Donna's helping him get his job here. Marcus tells her that it's cool, since he's actually flattered that she finds him so fascinating that she wants to learn all about him. After Marcus heads back to work, Steffy pulls out the file and looks at it some more before summoning Ridge, Thorne and Felicia to the office. When her dad, uncle and aunt arrive, Steffy tells them how Pam let it slip that Marcus was hired without a background check. The Forrester siblings are surprised, since they always run a check to learn about anyone they're hiring, and they surmise that Donna must have vouched for the new hire to get him in the door. Steffy shows them the personnel file, which only contains Marcus's driver's license from Beaumont, TX and an application form. Ridge agrees that they have to check this out.
Felicia, Ridge and Thorne are determined to find out Marcus's secret.
Just then, Marcus comes in with another delivery and senses the tension in the air. He asks if there's a problem he should know about. Ridge asks what makes him think that. Before Marcus can elaborate, Ridge gets a call from Phoebe's friend Madison (who they hired a few months back) that Brooke and Donna would like to see Marcus in Eric's office. After Marcus leaves, the siblings wonder why Brooke and Donna would ask for Marcus. Ridge isn't sure, but he intends to find out. Steffy points out that they could pay for a credit check online, but they can't be sure how reliable the data will be. Felicia suggests they run the full background check now, but Ridge doesn't want to tip Donna off until they know what's going on. Looking at Marcus's license, they wonder if Donna has ever been to Texas. Sensing some hesitation from his daughter, Ridge assures her that this isn't some kind of witch hunt. He has nothing against Marcus, but Donna is too big a liability to this company for them to overlook her connection with this new kid they've hired.

Donna introduces Marcus to his Aunt Brooke.
Marcus enters Eric's office and interrupts Brooke and Donna, who were actually just talking about him. Not knowing who the young man is, Brooke snaps that they're busy and asks him to leave, but Donna quickly tells her big sis that this is her son Marcus Walton. Brooke quickly apologizes for snapping at him just now. Marcus tells her that he understands, because he knows what her family has been going through with Katie's recent health issues. Brooke quickly corrects him that it's his family, too, and welcomes him to the family.

Katie thanks Bridget for not giving up on her.
At the Marone mansion, Nick looks on as Bridget checks Katie out and declares that Katie's temperature is perfectly normal. She's pleased to tell them that Katie will be with them for a long time to come. And it's all thanks to this woman right here, Nick proclaims as he kisses Bridget. After Nick goes downstairs for a moment, Katie thanks Bridget for not giving up on finding a way to save her life. She knows most people wouldn't have been that persistent. "I love you so much, Katie," Bridget responds. "I would have never given up." Even so, Katie doesn't know how to thank Bridget, who has now saved her life twice. Bridget downplays her part and tells Katie that she pulled through because of all the people praying for her. When she looks back now, she thinks that God guided her to find the answer that saved Katie, and she supposes that doctors are really just God's hands here on earth. Katie thinks that's a beautiful thought, but she still wants to give Bridget a little credit. With her exam done, Bridget points out that Nick wanted to talk to Katie once she was finished and goes down to get him.

Bridget downplays her actions to Jackie.
Downstairs, Nick is telling Jackie about Katie's miraculous recovery thanks to Bridget. Jackie's thrilled to hear that Katie will be fine once she rests and regains her strength. Nick continues to gush with praise for what Bridget did, but Jackie tells him that he deserves some of the credit. Nick reminds her that he's not a doctor, but Jackie counters that he was the one who gave Katie the will to keep on living. Nick agrees that he spent some amazing times with Katie, but Bridget is the one who gave Katie a new lease on life, and he wonders if he'd show the same courage Katie did if he had to stare death in the face. Bridget comes down and tells Nick that he can go see Katie, so he heads upstairs. Jackie praises Bridget for her miracle in saving Katie. When Bridget downplays her part, Jackie tells her never to sell herself short.

While holding Jack, Jackie gives Bridget some advice.
Soon after, Taylor brings Jack home, having kept him at her place during the time Katie was sick. [But wasn't Jack at Nick's place the night of the prom? Katie went to see him before getting into her prom dress. Oops!] As they ave bye-bye to mommy, Bridget tells Jack how glad she is to have him back home so he can spend time with his daddy. As Jackie eagerly greets her grandson, she sees that Bridget is looking at her and asks what's up. Bridget says that she knows how Jackie thinks, so she knows that the comment earlier about not selling herself short meant something. Jackie praises Bridget for being such a modest, humble person and tells her that it's OK to toot her own horn once in a while.

Nick is surprised by Katie's admission.
Nick comes up to Katie's room and tells her that she looks better every time he comes in here. Katie can't believe how things turned out. Nick reminds her that things wouldn't have turned out that way at all had Bridget not gotten her way when he fought to defend her [Katie's] final wishes. He's just glad that he was able to give Katie the prom she should have had years ago. Looking at her prom dress, Katie tells him that it was the best night of her life, a dying girl's dream come true. Except the girl didn't die, Nick laughs. Katie tells him that she'll always treasure the memories he gave her. Nick admits this may sound strange, but it was a privilege and honor to share what they thought were her last moments with her. Katie admits that everyone has been talking about how brave she was, but she hasn't felt brave at all. She thinks back to the day on the island when she thought it would have been better to let the ocean wash away, and she realizes that ever since Storm died, she thought she should just let fate decide her future. But Nick made her realize what she'd be missing out by doing that and made her want to live. She thinks he has a way to know what she's feeling even before she does, so she doesn't want to hide from it any longer. "I love you," she proclaims, "and I don't care who hears me say it."
