Jackie picks up a special dress from Forrester.
Thorne, Felicia, Phoebe and Ashley gather in Eric's office to to talk about Katie's health problems. Optimistic Phoebe thinks there has to be something the doctors can do, but the others tell her that Katie is sadly running out of time, so all they can do is support Katie in the time she has left. Jackie enters and says that Nick has found a way to do just that and asks if the dress is ready. While Thorne goes to check, Phoebe asks what dress Jackie's talking about. Jackie explains that Eric and Ridge designed a dress just for Katie that will make her feel like a princess. After Jackie leaves, Felicia tells the others that she saw the dress, and it's amazing. She just hopes Katie gets to wear it more than once. Ashley suggests they hold that thought and focus on making Katie's last days happy. (And maybe laying off her sister might be a good place to start? Just a thought, especially for Felicia, who asked the world of everyone when she was in Katie's shoes.) Phoebe wonders just what Nick has planned.

Bridget and Brooke are stunned by what Nick tells them.
Nick arrives home and finds Brooke and Donna sitting with Bridget, who is hunched over her laptop looking for some way to help Katie. After Nick makes a quick phone call, he tells the ladies that they have to talk. Brooke thinks he's going to tell them about his surprise plans for Katie (which only Bridget knows about), but instead, he tells them about his trip with Katie to Catalina Island. Once Nick tells them how Katie wanted to stop taking her medication on the island and just die in peace there, the ladies are stunned that he would even consider it. Nick quickly explains that he convinced Katie to take her meds because of her family, but he also realizes now that she wants to die on her own terms in peace, and not in some hospital. He asks them to promise to let Katie stay here, where she can die in dignity, surrounded by family. "Honor her wish to let her die the way she wants," he pleads.

Stephanie tells Katie to keep fighting.
Upstairs, Stephanie keeps Katie company. After Katie comments that her fever comes and goes like the weather, Stephanie wonders if she's giving up. Katie says she isn't, but she wants to be realistic. Stephanie asks Katie about her day with Nick yesterday. Katie says it was amazing, and so was Nick. She guesses she has a lot of people on her side. Stephanie agrees, which is why she thinks Katie has to keep fighting. Katie says she will fight, but she knows that her body is rejecting her heart and they won't find a better match. Stephanie points out that miracles happen, but Katie thinks she's had her share of miracles and asks Stephanie what she'd do in her place. Stephanie says that she'd look for a miracle in her family, who love her despite what she does to them. She thinks Katie has a miracle in her own family, who love her - and for the record, she loves Katie, too. Katie supposes that Nick has been a miracle for her, especially in the last 24 hours. She wonders what her family and Nick are planning for tonight. Stephanie says she doesn't know, and she wouldn't tell if she did. As Stephanie turns to leave, Katie says goodbye to her, since she's living for the moment and doesn't know if she'll see La Forrester again. "For the record," she adds, "I love you, too." Stephanie kisses her on the forehead and says she'll see her tomorrow.

Nick tells Donna and the others about his plans.
Downstairs, Nick reveals his surprise plans for Katie to Brooke and Donna: he's going to give her the perfect prom she never had. Donna asks why, but Brooke reminds her that Katie was devastated after the prom and they never found out why. Nick plans to correct that night for Katie. Jackie arrives with the Forrester Original gown that Eric and Ridge designed. Nick explains that he called last night, and Ridge and Eric dropped everything to get this made for Katie. Brooke marvels at how Ridge and Eric came through, despite the tension between the families. Donna asks where the prom will be held. Right here, Nick reveals. Once he tells them that the decorators are on their way over, Brooke, Donna and Jackie head for the kitchen to help organize. Nick asks Bridget, who is still hunched over her laptop, if she found anything. Not yet, she laments, but she's not giving up. Nick tells her he loves her and she says she loves him, too. Nick asks if she's OK with all this. She assures him that she is, telling him how proud she is that he's making her aunt so happy. "I know you'll make tonight beautiful," she says.

When Stephanie comes downstairs, Nick asks how their prom queen is doing. Stephanie says Katie is getting ready and has no idea what's going on. She admits that she's surprised at the compassion Nick is showing Katie and asks if he has feelings for her. Of course, he replies. Stephanie asks how many of the Logan women besides Bridget he plans to sleep with. Nick assures her that Bridget supports his efforts, but Stephanie reminds him that Bridget is madly in love with him and hopes he appreciates it. "More than anyone knows," Nick responds. Stephanie hopes he has a nice evening. He assures her that it will be a night Katie will remember forever. As she leaves, Stephanie says that Katie will remember it, although she bets someone else in the family will, too.

Katie wants to know what's going on.
Brooke goes upstairs with Bridget, who gives Katie a quick check-up. Katie asks Bridget if she brought the document. When Brooke asks what document, Katie explains that she wants a living will that says they shouldn't take extreme measures to keep her alive. Brooke protests, but Katie asks Bridget for the document. Bridget hands it to Katie, who signs it. Katie then asks what's going on tonight. Right on cue, Donna and Jackie burst in with everything they need for a dramatic transformation. As the ladies exchange hair and makeup suggestions, Katie says she doesn't want to go out tonight. Bridget tells her that she's not going anywhere, but she's in for a night to remember. Katie tells them that they doesn't have to do this, but Brooke says it will be a night she'll never forget.

Katie is amazed by her new dress.
After Jackie works her makeup magic, Katie goes down the hall to see Jack. Donna thinks Katie can see Jack tomorrow, since Nick is waiting, but Bridget thinks it's a good idea. Brooke and Donna wonder what's up, so Bridget confides that Katie may have less time left than they thought. She's still searching for something that might help Katie, and she's not giving up, but so far she's come up empty. Brooke tells her sister and daughter that there's nothing they can do, so she suggests they not let this conversation spoil Katie's special evening. Katie comes in wearing her gown. When her sisters and niece tell her how great she looks, Katie laughs that the ugly duckling is now a swan. Donna tells her that she was never the ugly duckling. Katie asks where the dress came from and is amazed when her sisters tell her that Ridge and Eric designed it just for her. "You are loved and adored by everybody," Brooke tells her. Katie says she sees that now and thinks she should get downstairs. Brooke, Donna and Katie tell her that she'll have the time of her life, and they'll be sneaking out the back door to make sure she's able to enjoy her night as the "belle of the ball." Katie still doesn't understand, but she guesses she'll find out. She tells her family that she wants to remember them just like this, all beautiful and happy and smiling. She vows not to forget this night and heads downstairs, leaving the ladies to console each other.

Nick tells Katie to get ready for the night of her life.
Downstairs, a tux-clad Nick cues a song up on the jukebox that sounds like an imitation of the ballads they played during the 80s and 90s. He then looks around the room at the disco ball (weren't those passe by the time Katie would have had her prom?), balloons and streamers that have his living room looking like a gym or hall on prom night. Katie comes down and gasps at how amazing everything looks. Nick tells her that this is her senior prom, but this time, she gets to dance the night away. Katie tells him that he didn't have to do this. Nick tells her this is for him, too, since he missed his senior prom. He was probably somewhere drinking beer, Katie kids, and... Nick cuts her off and hushes her, telling her that she looks perfect. "I had help," Katie admits. Nick then clumsily pins a corsage on her. Katie jokes that she's on so many pain pills that she won't notice if she sticks him. With the corsage on, Nick thanks her for what she's brought to his life and leads her to the dance floor. Katie tells him she loves this and is about to tell him how much she loves him, but she catches herself and tells him that she's going to love every minute of this night thanks to him. They start dancing and Katie seems happy.
