Marcus tell Steffy about his background...
Marcus takes Steffy on a date to Bikini Beach. Steffy tells him that she doesn't have to take her to dinner to buy her silence, but Marcus says he just wants to thank her. When Steffy tries to understand why it's such a problem to let people know that Donna is his mother, Marcus reminds her that her dad hates Donna, apparently because Donna married Eric. Steffy doesn't want to talk about her family and would rather hear about him. Marcus explains that he was raised in an East Texas town named Beaumont and moved to Austin to play college basketball on a scholarship, but he had to work and wound up seeing all the Longhorns games while serving chili dogs in the arena. Now he's not in the shape he was when he was younger, so his basketball dreams are done.

...and Steffy tells him about hers.
Steffy tells him that she was the athlete in the family and could have competed in track or swimming, but she didn't pursue it since being a Forrester is about brains and beauty. Since her sister was the pretty one, she had to be the smart one. Marcus asks why she couldn't be both pretty and smart. She remarks that Phoebe takes to the beauty part better as a model. Hearing Steffy talk about her sister, Marcus starts to understand why Steffy stayed in London so long. She tells him that she loves her sister, but she enjoyed being on her own in England. After they eat, the two of them go outside, where Marcus feels like everybody's watching them. Steffy admits that she'd want to look at them. Marcus guesses that everyone knows her there, but they're probably wondering who the guy with the tattoos is. Steffy tells him lots of people here have tattoos, so that's no big deal, and in fact she's been thinking of getting one herself. Marcus tells her not to, because she's already perfect.

Katie comes clean with Bridget.
Katie is busy making her bed when she hears a knock at the door. She thinks it's Nick, but it's Bridget, who tells her that Nick went out of town for the day while Jack is spending the night with Taylor. Katie suggests that the two of them take advantage of having the house to themselves by having a "Girls Gone Wild" night, but Bridget doesn't think either of them fits the "wild" mold. "We could plan your wedding," Katie suggests, but Bridget says that she and Nick aren't at that point yet. Katie doesn't see why not, because Nick obviously loves Bridget, and she doesn't think any other woman would stand a chance competing with Bridget for Nick. "Including you?" Bridget asks. Katie is surprised that Bridget realizes she has feelings for Nick. Bridget confesses that she's known for a while, and it was because she knew that she encouraged Nick to spend so much time with Katie when they thought Katie was dying. But she wasn't worried, since she and Nick share a deep bond that's hard to break. Katie admits to her niece that she fell for Nick hard. She sees now that she's not telling Bridget anything she didn't already know, but she values her friendship with Bridget so much that she wants to be completely honest with her. "Tell me that nothing's changed between us," she pleads.

Bridget asks Katie to stay.
Bridget tells Katie that Nick shares his heart with a lot of people, and that's one of the things she loves about him. She understands that part of that means that Nick has to go away sometimes and be a hero for someone else, but she knows that in the end, he's going to come back home to her. Katie is glad to hear that Bridget understands, since she loves Bridget like a sister, and that's why she promises never to act on her feelings for Nick. Bridget thanks Katie for being honest with her. Katie suggests that under the circumstances, it might be better for her to move out before Nick comes home, but Bridget won't hear of it and asks Katie to stay. She thinks she and Nick both like having Katie here, and she's also glad to have bonded with Katie through her recent ordeal, since she doesn't really have many friends. Katie declares that she's never felt as loved as she does here. She just wishes she felt the same kind of love from her mother. As Katie starts to cry, Bridget asks what's going on with Beth, so Katie tells her about how abrupt Beth was when she called her in Paris yesterday. Bridget is surprised that her grandmother was so distant. Still sobbing, Katie wonders if Beth blames her for Storm's death. Bridget tells her crying aunt not to think about that and tries to comfort her.

Nick wants answers from Beth.
In Beth's Paris apartment, Nick asks her, "What's it going to take to get Beth Logan to come home?" Beth doesn't want to discuss this with him and asks him again to leaves. Nick points out that she didn't want to discuss it with Katie, either, and asks why she hung up on her daughter. Beth says she didn't hang up on anyone and just had to go out, like she has to do now. Nick asks where she's going. She tells him that she's late for an appointment and asks him to show himself out while she's gone.

Stephen talks with Nick about Beth.
Nick calls Stephen over to the apartment to try and find out what's going with his ex-wife. Stephen tells Nick that Beth doesn't see many people these days. Nick tells Stephen about how Beth hung up on Katie. Stephen suggests that it could have been a phone line problem, but Nick points out that Beth was just as evasive with him in person and asks Stephen to please be honest with him. Stephen admits that he and Beth have talked about her coming back to L.A. with him for a while since he returned to Paris, but they haven't gotten much past the talking stage. Nick takes that to mean that Beth won't go and asks Stephen why he's making excuses for his ex. Stephen admits that he wasn't completely honest when he told his daughters that Beth was too sick to come to Storm's funeral. He assumed Beth just needed to pull herself together. Given how he walked out on Beth years ago, he doesn't feel like he has the right to criticize her, but she's been very distant lately, even when talking about their children. While he expected Beth to be distant with him, he can't understand why she seems not to even care about the children she was always so devoted to. He's just sorry Nick came all this way for nothing. Nick insists that he's not leaving until he gets some answers.

Beth returns and finds Nick is still there.
Soon after, Beth returns. She looks around and is relieved when she sees her living room is empty, but Nick then comes in and asks where she went. Beth tells him that it's none of his business and threatens to wait him out if she has to. Nick senses she's afraid of something and asks if she's in some sort of trouble. When Beth feigns ignorance, Nick asks her to come back with L.A. She declines, leading Nick to ask what happened to the Beth Logan he knows, who would sacrifice anything for her children. (Except Nick doesn't really know her since they just met for the first time today). Beth says she's not as strong as she used to be, so Nick tells her about Katie's strength through her recent ordeal. Pointing out how brace Katie was in the face of death, he states that Katie doesn't NEED Beth there, but she WANTS Beth there because she loves her mother. "Can you love her back?" he asks. Beth picks up a photo of Katie as a child from the mantle and looks at it as Nick urges her to come back with him.
