Katie is thrilled to see Jack.
Katie arrives at the Marone mansion for dinner with a pie that Beth made. As Nick greets his dinner guest and asks how Beth's doing, Bridget brings Jack in to see Aunt Katie. Katie is thrilled to see the baby and takes him in her arms, telling him how much she missed him and offering him some toys she has in her humongous purse. Nick and Bridget tell Katie that Jack missed her, too. After giving Aunt Katie some quality time with Jack, Nick takes the baby and his "magical toy" up to bed. While Nick is upstairs, Katie asks Bridget how Eric's doing. Bridget confides that there's been no change, and she feels frustrated by the fact that she feels like she should be doing more for her dad. The longer he's in a coma, she laments, the less likely he is to come out of it. Katie tells Bridget not to lose hope, but Bridget fears that time is working against them, and she feels so helpless. Katie advises her niece not to take that burden on herself, since she has Thorne, Felicia, Donna and Nick to share it with - and more importantly, she has Katie, too. "Lean on me," Katie instructs, assuring Bridget that she's there for her.

Bridget's photo gift moves Katie.
When Nick comes downstairs, the trio sits down for a beautiful dinner served on Nick and Bridget's wedding china. Katie feels honored to be there for the first meal using the new china. Bridget explains that she thought it was appropriate to use the wedding china for dinner with the person who married her and Nick. Katie recalls the wedding and raves about how happy Nick and Bridget seem. Bridget thinks she and Nick owe their happiness to Katie, since they became so much closer saving Katie's life, and talking about the wedding reminds her that she has a gift for Katie. A curious Katie opens the package and finds a framed photo of her and Nick on her "prom night." Nick looks at the photo and asks where his copy is, so Bridget gives him a wallet size version. Katie recalls that night fondly and thanks Bridget for the wonderful gift.

Bridget and Nick make plans with Katie.
As the evening winds down, Katie thanks Nick and Bridget for having her over. Nick suggests they do it again soon, but Katie offers to do the cooking next time. Or the three of them can take Jack out on the Marlin for some fun, Bridget proposes, like going to Catalina Island for a picnic like Nick and Katie did. Nick thinks they can do that, but Katie suggests that they find some new island to explore next time. Bridget doesn't really care where they go as long as they do it, and she promises to make time in her busy schedule for the picnic. Katie thanks her hosts again for having her over and tells them yet again how much she loves seeing them so happy. She especially wants to thank Bridget for everything she's done for her. "You're my angel," Katie tells her niece, "and you're everything I aspire to be." Bridget thanks Katie for the kind words and gives her a big hug.

Marcus tells Donna to send Owen packing.
At Forrester Creations, Marcus tells Donna to pay Owen and send him on his way. Owen insists that he's concerned about Donna, but Marcus finds that hard to believe after hearing about the deal Owen cut with Felicia. Owen admits that was a mistake, which is why he came clean. Donna agrees that Owen has proved himself, but Marcus scoffs that the only thing Owen has proved is that he can talk his way into a cushy job. Donna argues that Owen earned the job as her assistant by supporting her and giving her good advice, but Marcus counters that Owen did all that after he was hired and puts forth that Owen only took the job as part of Felicia's seduction plot. "This guy is bad news," Marcus proclaims, urging his mom to tell Owen to leave. Donna whispers to Marcus that she'll discuss this privately with Owen. Marcus warns his mom not to be taken by Owen. Donna asks Owen to come with her and they leave the office.

Brooke shares Marcus's concerns.
Marcus is still in Eric's office when Brooke comes in looking for Donna. When Marcus tells her that Donna left with Owen, Brooke says she'll call Donna and turns to leave, but Marcus asks his aunt to wait. He has something to say to her, but it has to stay just between then, since he doesn't want Ridge to use it against Donna. Brooke assures him that he can confide in her. Marcus tells her that he doesn't like the things his mom has been doing, especially her firing the Forresters. He understands why Felicia was let go, but not Ridge and Thorne. Brooke agrees, and she admits that she doesn't understand why Donna is saying these things. Marcus shares his fear that Owen is influencing Donna and says that he can't trust the guy, especially since Owen told him that he's fallen head over heels for Donna. A surprised Brooke asks Marcus what he knows about Owen. Marcus explains that Owen came to L.A. to collect his fee for tracking Donna down, but the next thing you know, he crashed Bridget's engagement party and showed up with a special bottle of gin for Eric, knowing that Eric liked gin martinis. Brooke agrees that Owen obviously has an agenda, but she doesn't know what it is. Marcus doesn't know either, but he's worried that Owen is worming his way into Donna's life. On top of that, someone broke into Donna's house last night, and Marcus thinks it was Owen. Brooke agrees that something seems fishy about Owen, but she thinks Donna can take care of herself. Marcus still fears that Owen is taking advantage, which is why he hopes his mom tells Owen to take a hike and never come back.

Owen tells Donna how sweet and kind she is.
Donna and Owen arrive at the Forrester mansion. Owen tells Donna that it's obvious that her son doesn't trust him. Donna thinks Marcus is just being protective of her, even though they've only known each other a short time. Owen tells Donna that she doesn't owe him anything, and he'll be gone if she just says the word. Still, he wants her to know that he meant what he said when told her he was crazy about her. "I don't mean to make you feel uncomfortable," he states. He admits that he can see why someone like Marcus is suspicious, but he's not the person Marcus makes him out to be. When he first came to L.A. and to Forrester, he was dazzled by the wealthy lifestyles, but even more so, he was blown away by Donna and how sweet and kind she was. He was expecting a home-wrecking witch based on what Felicia told him, but he sees how loyal she is, and he thinks it's a shame that she has to fight the Forrester kids just because she loves their father so deeply. He thinks Donna has earned what she has and pledges his continued support to help her hold onto it.

Donna reflects after telling Owen to leave.
Donna thanks Owen for being so protective of her and for having her back, since she needs that these days. Owen wishes there was a way to make Marcus trust him. Donna thinks Marcus just wants to protect her, and Owen agrees that she needs all the protection she can get. Still, Donna states, perception is everything, and she can see why people might question her keeping Owen on now that what happened with him and Felicia is public knowledge. Owen reminds her that they did nothing wrong, but Donna reminds him that the fashion world is filled with gossip. Normally, that wouldn't concern her. But Eric is lying in the hospital unconscious, unable to defend herself, and she has to be concerned about his image and put Eric's needs first. That said, she thinks Marcus is right that it's best to let Owen go. She offers to send his severance pay to his home in San Diego, but Owen doesn't want it. Donna feels it's the least she can do, since he earned it. Owen says he wishes he could have cone ore, but he understands what she's seeing and is willing to walk away if that's what she wants. He walks to the door and steps outside, but Donna stops him in the doorway and tells him how sorry she is. Owen tells her not to be. It's been a trip tending to her needs, or most of them, anyway, but he never meant to cause her any trouble. "I adore you," he whispers as he kisses her first on the cheek and then on the lips. "Goodbye," he says as he walks away. Donna goes back into the house and picks up a photo of her and Eric, clutching it tightly as she sits on the stairs and reflects on what just happened.
