Eric lies unconscious.

When Eric doesn't respond to her cries, a panicked Donna calls 911 and tells the operator that her husband isn't breathing. She asks for an ambulance to come to the house - 369 Willow Hill Road in Beverly Hills - immediately. When the paramedics arrive, Donna tells them that Eric just suddenly went unconscious after they made love. The paramedics ask what medication Eric is on. Donna tells them that he takes pills for cholesterol and blood pressure, but when they say they need to know anything else he might have taken, she reluctantly informs them about the pills Eric takes to help their sex life. After checking Eric out, the paramedics determine that he's had a heart attack and prepare to take him to the hospital. Donna tells them that she's coming with them. As one of the paramedics calls in to the hospital, Donna tells the unconscious Eric that he means everything to her and promises to stay by his side.

Ridge and Brooke tell Rick about their plans.

Ridge and Brooke are still celebrating in Eric's office when Rick comes in. When Ridge tells him that Eric has left for the day, Rick turns to leave, but Brooke asks him to wait and informs him that she and Ridge are moving ahead with their wedding plans. Rick congratulates her, insisting that he's happy if she's happy. Brooke is glad he's OK with this. Rick sees no reason not to be, since he feels that no one should stand in the way of true love. Not knowing how to respond, Brooke changes the subject and asks Rick if she and Ridge can help him with something. Rick says he needs Eric to sign off on some proposals. Ridge says that he and Brooke will look at the proposals tomorrow, since they're taking over the company. Rick doesn't believe it, so Ridge shows him the transfer documents. Rick notes that the papers aren't signed. Ridge and Brooke assure him that Eric gave Ridge his word. Rick is upset that he wasn't consulted, since he runs Forrester International. Brooke assures him that he'll still play an important role in the company, just reporting to them and not Eric. Ridge tells Rick that everyone in the family will get their fair share of the company, although he and his siblings will get the larger stake as the children of the company's founders. Rick asks where that leaves Donna. Donna will spend time with Eric, Brooke says. Ridge thinks it's a win-win situation. Rick still can't believe Ridge talked Eric into this. Ridge says that Eric sees it's the only way to undo the damage to the company. Brooke adds that change isn't easy, but it's necessary, so she hopes they can count on Rick's support.

Bridget orders tests for her father.

As Eric is wheeled into the emergency room, Bridget sees her dad and Donna. Donna begs Bridget to help Eric, so Bridget immediately gets the details from the paramedics and orders a series of tests. Bridget assures Donna that they'll do everything they can to help Eric. Donna then calls Brooke and tells her about the heart attack. After Donna tells her that Eric's at University Hospital, Brooke tells her to stay calm and they'll be right there. Brooke tells Ridge and Rick that Eric is in the hospital and they rush out of the office. Donna asks one of the paramedics if there's any word about her husband. The paramedic assures her that Eric is in very good hands.

Brooke, Ridge and Rick arrive and ask Donna what's going on. Donna confirms that Eric has had a heart attack, but she doesn't know much more than that since no one has come out to talk to her. Brooke asks if Bridget knows. Donna tells her that Bridget is in there, so Rick goes to see what he can find out. Ridge asks Donna if Eric had any chest pains. Donna tells him that Eric was fine one moment, but he was pale and clammy the next. Brooke assures her sister that Eric will pull through this. Donna says that they just have to start praying very hard now.

Marcus asks Steffy for her opinion of Owen.

Marcus goes to drop off a package in Eric's office and finds Steffy there. He asks if she heard how Eric's trip to New York went. Steffy isn't sure, although she knows her granddad was nervous before he left. Marcus wishes Eric was here so they could ask him. Steffy presumes that Eric went home to be with Donna. Speaking of Donna, Marcus asks Steffy what she thinks about Donna hiring Owen. He knows Donna and Pam don't get along, but Donna just met Owen. Steffy agrees that Owen's smooth, telling Marcus that guys like that aren't her type. Marcus asks what is her type. When Steffy tells him that she likes someone honest and straightforward, Marcus cheers, "Score one for me." Steffy doesn't think it's odd to hire someone you just met, since that's how the interview process often works, so she wonders what's bothering Marcus. He guesses he just wants Donna to be careful, since he doesn't know Owen that well, and it seems to him like Donna is already surrounded by enemies. "Including my father," Steffy notes.

Steffy is stunned when she learns her granddad's condition.

Marcus doesn't think it's a good idea for him and Steffy to talk about her dad and instead suggests that they focus on something else. Steffy asks Marcus if he's gone to Donna with questions about his father. Marcus says that it hasn't felt right yet, although he admits he has wondered about his father. He's sure he'll get his answers when Donna's ready, but for now, he's just happy to have found his mother and to have learned that she has a great guy like Eric sticking up for her. Marcus then asks Steffy if they should call it a night since the boss isn't around and go on their second date to Bikini Beach. Steffy is cool with that, so Marcus goes to write Eric a "welcome back" note before leaving and spots the transfer documents sitting on Eric's desk. Looking at the papers, Marcus asks Steffy if she knew that Eric was giving control of Forrester to Ridge and Brooke. Steffy says she doesn't know anything about it. Marcus wonders what's going on, since he doesn't see Donna's name in the document. Steffy admits she knows her dad wants to run the company, but she's surprised to find out that it's happening. Just then, a security guard pokes his head in and is surprised to see Marcus and Steffy still there. When Steffy asks what's going on, the guard tells her that her grandfather had a heart attack and is in the hospital.

Thorne and Felicia worry about their father.

Thorne and Felicia arrive at the hospital and join Ridge and Brooke in trying to get answers from Donna. Felicia asks if anyone called Stephanie. Ridge says that he left her a message. Thorne asks Donna what happened. Donna starts to tell them how Eric just passed out after they made love, but Felicia doesn't want to hear the gory details and cuts Donna off. Rick returns with Bridget, who confirms that Eric has indeed had a heart attack. Donna asks if he's going to be OK. Bridget explains that they're still running tests, and while Eric is stable, his condition is very serious. Donna wants to see him. Bridget doesn't know if that's a good idea, but Donna insists that she won't get in the way. Donna then goes into Eric's room and holds his hand. She tells him not to be afraid, since Bridget and the doctors are taking good care of him. She sobs about all the plans they made and begs him not to leave her. She weeps that she had no idea what real love was until she met him, and he taught her that by being there for her, even when his children would not accept her. Now it's her turn to support him, she vows, promising to take care of him. "You're everything to me, and I'm gonna have you back," she affirms.

Rick talks to Eric.

Eric's children come into the room. Thorne goes over to his father's bedside first and tells Eric not to worry about anything. He assures that they have work covered and tells Eric to focus on getting better. Thorne then steps away so Rick can come over. Rick jokes that this was a hell of a way for Eric to get all his kids together and affirms that they're all there for him. "It's time that you lean on us for a change," he sighs. Felicia is next and she breaks down, telling her father that she'd do anything to have him open his eyes. "I can't lose you," she cries, begging him not to even think about leaving them. Ridge comes over and tells Eric to keep fighting.
