Ridge warns Brooke not to get too wrapped up with Nick and Taylor.

Ridge comes into Eric's office and finds Brooke there. After greeting her with a kiss, he shows her some fabric he ordered from Italy for her wedding gown. Ridge suggests that Brooke try on some wedding gowns, but she points out that it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her gown before the wedding. Ridge reminds her that he's not superstitious, plus he's already seen her in every wedding gown he designed for her. Brooke sighs. Ridge realizes that something is wrong and asks what it is. Brooke reveals that Taylor left Nick and left the baby behind, turning everything upside down. "Upside down for Nick and Taylor," Ridge qualifies, "not for us." He's actually not surprised that Taylor left Nick, but he is surprised that she left the baby behind. Brooke guesses that the situation was too much for Taylor. Ridge asks if she means that Taylor left because of Jacks' maternity. Brooke says that's part of it, and while she knows it upsets Ridge, she admits she's concerned about the baby. Ridge suggests that they let Nick and Taylor run their own lives, but Brooke fears Jack needs a mother and asks Ridge if they can drive by Nick's to check on the way home. Ridge can't believe that she's even suggesting that and asks if she's heard a word he said, since he already told her that they shouldn't get too involved in Nick and Taylor's lives. He asks Brooke if she wants to go there because she thinks of herself as Jack's mother.

Katie tells Brooke not to just walk away from Ridge.

Before Brooke can answer, Katie enters. Sensing the tension, Katie offers to leave, but Brooke says that she and Ridge just disagreed about something. Ridge gets called down to the cutting room to handle an emergency, so he excuses himself. Once he's gone, Katie chastises her sister for jeopardizing her relationship with Ridge. When Brooke explains that Taylor left Nick and left the baby behind, Katie asks Brooke why that concerns her, pointing out that Brooke already has Hope and R.J. to care for. "I'll always find time to take care of my son," Brooke replies. Katie retorts that Jack is Nick and Taylor's son, not Brooke's, and she bets Ridge wouldn't like hearing Brooke call Jack her son. Brooke laments that she's grown attached to Jack and loves him. Katie fumes that Brooke is again impulsively jumping in without regard for consequences, just like Donna does, and she can't understand why her sisters keep doing that. Brooke tries to explain what love means, since she doesn't think Katie understands what it really means to be in love. Katie finds that question to be condescending, but she points out that this isn't about her. It's about Brooke and her feelings for Nick and Ridge. When Brooke reveals that Nick wants her to leave Ridge and make a future with him and Jack, a stunned Katie tells her sister to think long and hard before she gives up the chance she's been waiting years for with Ridge. Brooke says that she needs to talk to Nick.

Nick and Jack get a visitor.

Bridget drops by the Marone mansion to check on Taylor and finds Nick playing with Jack. When Nick explains that Taylor moved back to her house in Bel Air and left the baby behind, Bridget tells him that she's sorry. When Nick suggests that things happen for a reason and wonders if it just wasn't in the cards for him and Taylor to get past everything that happened, Bridget asks if Taylor is angry with him. Nick says that Taylor doesn't blame him, but he still feels responsible. Bridget states that if anyone should be blamed, it's her, since she's the one who let the egg mix-up happen. Nick tells her to look at Jack and asks how she can blame herself for that little miracle. Bridget asks Nick if her mom had anything to do with Taylor leaving; he tells her that it wasn't anything that was Brooke's fault. Bridget asks what that means, so Nick explains that he confessed to Taylor that he was still in love with Brooke. Bridget asks if he told her mom how he feels; when he says he did, Bridget frets about how that might impact Brooke and Ridge's wedding plans. "Maybe she won't marry him," Nick suggests, telling Bridget that he asked Brooke to marry him so they can raise Jack together. Hearing Nick talk about her mom reminds Bridget of how she and Nick lost Nicole, and she asks Nick if he ever thinks about their little girl. "Every day," Nick admits, calling Nicole their little guardian angel. Bridget says that she feels the same way and tells Nick that she's there if he needs a friend. "You'll always be more than just a friend," Nick states, embracing her.

Bridget worries about what her mother might do.

Later, Bridget drops by Eric's office and finds Katie wrapping up a call. When Bridget asks her aunt where Brooke is, Katie says that Brooke already left. Bridget's sorry she missed her mom and asks Katie how it feels to be back home. Katie answers that it's nice to be back with her family. Bridget asks Katie if she knows where Brooke went; Katie says that Brooke had to see someone and suggests that she and Bridget have lunch sometime, but Bridget is distracted. When Katie asks what's wrong, Bridget admits that she fears her mom is about to make a huge mistake. Katie asks if that mistake would have anything to do with Nick Marone. Bridget says that it is and asks Katie how she knew. Katie explains that Brooke confided in her about how Nick feels, and she in turn told Brooke to hurry up and make a decision. Bridget asks Katie if she's suggesting that Brooke get back together with Nick. Katie says that she thinks Brooke belongs with Ridge, but she also thinks that Brooke won't be able to move on until she sets Nick straight. Bridget is glad that Katie talked some sense into Brooke, but Katie isn't sure if Brooke listened to her. All she knows is that Brooke went over to Nick's to tell him that she made her choice.
