Stephanie keeps Taylor company.
|
At Taylor's, Stephanie makes some chamomile tea to help Taylor relax. Taylor tells Stephanie to leave her alone and go to the party, but Stephanie prefers to stay there. Taylor admits that she still hopes Ridge will walk through her front door and tell her that he wants her back. Stephanie assumes that Taylor's glad to have Phoebe back home. Taylor says that she is, because she thinks she and Phoebe need each other right now. She tells Stephanie that Phoebe is still very bitter about her relationship with Rick and even thinks she might have used Rick to make Ridge jealous. Stephanie urges Taylor to set Phoebe straight, since she thinks Phoebe's issues are with Rick. Taylor thinks Phoebe is starting to realize that. Taylor then shows Stephanie the necklace Phoebe gave her to ward off evil spirits. Stephanie quips that they should see if it wards off Brooke, but Taylor is more worried about her relationship with Phoebe at the moment. She thinks Phoebe has always been both sweet and strong-willed, and she fears that might get Phoebe into trouble. She just hopes Phoebe stays away from Rick. Stephanie thinks that's a good idea. The ladies agree that it's good to have Phoebe home so Phoebe and Taylor can work out their issues. Taylor thinks everything will be fine once she shows Phoebe a little T.L.C. She thanks Stephanie for being there and helping her get a new perspective on things. While she may have lost Ridge, she feels very fortunate to at least still have her children.

Steffy tells Marcus that she has a weird feeling.

Back at the party, Steffy and Marcus are leaving the dance floor to get something to drink when Steffy suddenly gets a weird feeling. Meanwhile, Brooke and Ridge slow dance and marvel at how well the evening turned out. Brooke thinks it would have been better had Rick shown up. "He still might," Ridge points out. Brooke is impressed with his new attitude toward her son. Ridge credits it to the fact that there's nothing Rick or anyone else can do to harm them now that they're getting married tomorrow. Dancing nearby with Steffy, Marcus notes how happy Brooke and Ridge look. Steffy admits that she hoped to get her parents back together, but she concedes that Brooke and Ridge seem as happy as she and Marcus are. Marcus thinks this would have been the perfect night until she told him what Rick was up to. Steffy wonders if she did the right thing by telling him, but Marcus says that she did and asks if Phoebe knows. Steffy explains that she told Phoebe, who was hurt by the news. In fact, she's starting to worry about Phoebe and hopes her sister gets there soon.

Eric spots Stephen and Beth and asks if they're enjoying themselves. The Logans are thrilled to see Brooke so happy with Ridge, but Stephen is sorry Donna isn't here to enjoy it. When Eric apologizes for how things turned out with Donna, Stephen questions his sincerity. Beth suggests that they remember that this is a party, not a debate, and proposes a toast to Brooke and Ridge. Meanwhile, the caterer asks Bridget if she should serve dinner, but Bridget points out that they're still waiting for a couple of guests.

Thorne proposes a toast.

Thorne gathers everyone together and makes a toast to Brooke and Ridge, who he claims to have followed "since the dawn of time - or at least it seems that way." Everyone raises their glasses to the happy couple. Ridge and Brooke then go over to thank Eric for opening his home for them. Ridge just hopes he and Eric can smooth out any rough spots between them after the honeymoon. Eric looks forward to that. Ridge asks Brooke to join him for one more dance before dinner, but as they get on the dance floor, she senses that he is distracted. Ridge admits that he's worried about Phoebe. Brooke wonders if Phoebe stayed with Taylor, but Ridge tells her that Phoebe wrote a song that she planned to sing tonight. He asks Brooke if she'd mind if he called Phoebe. Brooke says she wouldn't mind, but she's sure Phoebe will walk up the driveway as soon as he starts dialing.
As Ridge goes out to call Phoebe, he sees a bloody Rick coming up the driveway. Ridge tries to get Rick inside, but Rick tells him that Phoebe is hurt, so they rush to her side. Inside, Katie asks Brooke where Ridge is. Brooke explains that he went to call Phoebe and tells Katie about the song Phoebe wrote for Ridge. Katie thinks that's sweet. Meanwhile, as Marcus and Steffy dance, Steffy gets that bad feeling again. Marcus asks if she's sick. Steffy says she isn't, but she feels like something's wrong.

Ridge arrives at Phoebe's side.
|
Ridge and Rick reach the accident scene. Ridge takes Phoebe in his arms and tells her that she's going to be OK. "Where's that damned ambulance?" he asks Rick, who simply watches as Ridge holds Phoebe and tells her that he's there. As Phoebe starts to wake up, Ridge assures her that she's going to be fine if she can just hang in there. Phoebe whispers that he has to hear her song. Ridge says that she can sing it for him as soon as they get her to the hospital, but Phoebe says that he has to hear it now. She starts to sing, but she only gets a few words out before she stops and close her eyes. As Phoebe goes limp in his arms, an anguished Ridge asks, "Why doesn't she wake up?" and breaks down in tears as he realizes what's happened.
