Steffy confides in Rick.
At Bikini Beach, Steffy reserves one of their new private cabanas for the afternoon. She tells the hostess that she wants the "romance package" they discussed earlier, so the hostess runs off to get everything ready. Steffy starts to arrange some flowers and pillows in the cabana and is surprised when Rick walks in. Rick explains that he came by to check out the new cabanas to see if he and Taylor should rent one, although he wonders if that's too much information for Steffy to know about her mom. Steffy tells him that she'll get used to his dating her mom some day and covers that she came by while she was having lunch here to see what all the fuss was about. Rick thinks this might be perfect for a mini-getaway for him and Taylor, but Steffy feigns a lack of interest - that is, until the hostess returns with Steffy's food and says, "I see your date has arrived." After the hostess leaves, Rick picks some strawberries from the tray and asks Steffy if there's something she's not telling him. Busted, Steffy admits that she rented the cabana for her and Marcus. Rick teases that it looks like she's in love. Steffy feels awkward, so Rick tells her that she can open up to him, even if he is her mom's boyfriend. In fact, he thinks Taylor would be glad to know that he's making sure her daughter is OK. "I'm more than OK," Steffy confides, "I'm in love with Marcus."

Owen sets Marcus straight.
Marcus goes to the Forrester mansion to confront Owen and orders him to leave. Owen insists that Donna needs him, but Marcus retorts that he can provide anything his mom needs. "The last thing she needs is a loser who takes money for breaking up marriages," Marcus insists, telling Owen to forget about any sick fantasies he has in his head about Donna. Owen tells Marcus that he has it all wrong. He admits that he said he was crazy about Donna before she asked him to leave, but he was also the one who stood up for Donna and kept Ridge from pulling the plug on Eric's life support. "If I was making a play for her, why would I keep her husband alive?" Owen asks. Marcus doesn't believe it, so Owen explains how Ridge had convinced the rest of the family to pull the plug and was about to get Donna to sign off on it when he [Owen] arrived. Owen insists to a skeptical Marcus that even though he's attracted to Donna, he just wants to be her friend. "If you want to be mad at someone," Owen states, "be mad at Ridge."

Ridge tells Marcus to break up with Steffy.
Ridge is sitting in Eric's office stating at a photo of Eric when Marcus arrives. Marcus berates him for trying to railroad Donna into pulling the plug on Eric. He understands that Ridge is upset about Eric, but he doesn't think that gives Ridge the right to do what he did. Ridge asks Marcus who he's been talking to. When Marcus says that he talked to Owen, Ridge charges, "I guess he forgot to tell you that I realized I was wrong." Marcus is glad that Ridge went along with Donna's wishes. Ridge says that he doesn't see any reason to add more stress between their families, and he thinks Marcus knows what he's talking about. Marcus realizes that Ridge is talking about Steffy. Ridge says that Marcus has started off well in his new life in L.A. and has worked hard here at Forrester. While he has no issues with Marcus working here, he won't allow Donna's long lost love child to date his daughter.

Marcus tries to tell Steffy it's over.
Marcus then gets a call from Steffy asking where he is. Marcus says that he got her text message, but something came up at work that he had to deal with. He asks if they are still meeting at Bikini Beach. Steffy tells him to give the people at the beach her name and they'll show him where to find her. Marcus says he'll be there soon. As Marcus hangs up the phone, Ridge urges him to end things with Steffy, because it's the best thing for everyone. Soon after, Marcus arrives at the cabana and is greeted by an excited Steffy, who senses something bothering Marcus and asks what's wrong. Marcus tells her that he thinks she's incredible, and he feels like he can do anything when she smiles at him. Steffy agrees that she wants him, but Marcus tells her that he has to let her go. Steffy can't believe that he's saying this. Marcus explains how her father disapproves of their seeing each other, but Steffy begs him not to give into her dad's demands. What they have is real, she insists, and she knows that he feels it, too. She pulls him into an embrace and tells him not to do this. "Don't leave, not now," Steffy pleads. "Not ever," Marcus responds, kissing her.

Taylor considers Bridget's request.
Taylor comes by the Marone mansion to drop off Jack and chats with Bridget. Bridget has a favor to ask involving Jack, but she first wants to clear the air, since she knows Taylor had issues with her during the custody battle. Taylor apologizes for the way she behaved then and wants Bridget to know that she can always come to her about Jack. Glad to hear that, Bridget asks Taylor if she would consider making Katie Jack's godmother. Taylor points out that she already asked Ashley Abbott, although it's been so long since she made that offer that Ashley might think it's off the table now. [And speaking of which, we haven't even seen Ashley's response to the new regime at Forrester, although they claimed on Y&R today that she's off in Europe on Forrester business]. Bridget explains that Katie needs something positive in her life, and caring for Nick's child would give her that. She feels like Katie is slipping away ever since Storm died, but she thinks giving Katie someone like Jack to love might turn all that around. Taylor thinks about it for a moment and then smiles as she says, "Let's do it. Let's let Katie be Jack's godmother."

Beth is stunned when she finds out Katie is pregnant.
Katie comes home and is greeted by Beth, who reveals that she found instructions in the trash for a prescription for prenatal vitamins. "Someone in this house is pregnant," Beth beams, assuming it's Brooke. As Beth anxiously anticipates sharing this good news with her oldest daughter once Brooke comes home, Katie tells her to slow down, since it's not Brooke who is pregnant. "You're pregnant?" Beth gasps. Katie confirms it and tells her mom that she can't tell anyone about this, including Bridget. Beth sees that there is still something bothering Katie and realizes that the baby must be Nick's.
Katie confides in her mom.
"Bridget's going to hate me," Katie sighs. Beth agrees and notes that Brooke likely will not be very happy about this news either. "Does Nick know?" Beth asks. Katie nods. Beth points out that Bridget will have to be told eventually. Maybe not, Katie states, pointing out that the pregnancy might not survive the first trimester given her medical condition. She sees no reason to upset Bridget's life if they don't have to. Katie recalls how amazing it was making love to Nick, lamenting that she wasn't supposed to survive. "Thank God you did," Beth states, stating that Katie is now bringing a new life into the world and offering a reassuring hug.

Bridget drops by with a request for Katie.
Bridget drops by to see Katie, who has a dour look on her face. Bridget tells Katie that she doesn't have to hide and pretend everything's OK. "You can always confide in me," Bridget says as she gives Katie a hug. Katie says she knows. Bridget asks what's wrong. "I've been going through a difficult time," Katie says. Bridget says that she has an idea about how to fix that and asks Katie if she would be Jack's godmother. Beth thinks that's a sweet idea, but she would think that Nick and Taylor should be making that decision. Bridget explains that she asked both of them and they're both on board. Feeling guilty, Katie doesn't know what to say. "Say yes," Bridget pleads, pointing out that Katie would be like a mother to Nick's child if she accepts. Katie, however, gets upset and says that she can't do it.
