Brooke talks with Bridget about Eric and Katie.
Bridget calls Brooke over to the Marone mansion to tell her that Eric was put on a respirator. Brooke mentions that she visited Eric today and one of the neurologists said that Eric's chances of survival diminished the longer he stayed in a coma. Bridget explains that doctors often say that, but she stopped once she realized there's no way to make predictions about coma patients. Brooke prays this isn't Eric's time to die. Bridget asks her mom if she believes that God listens to their prayers. Brooke thinks he does, but Bridget asks how she can feel that way after all the heartache she has suffered. When Brooke suggests that she brought some of those consequences on herself, Bridget asks about all the bad things that happen to good people. Brooke asks Bridget where she's going with this, so Bridget explains that Katie thinks she's one of those people that God is either ignoring or laughing at. "Katie is a walking miracle," Brooke scoffs. Bridget explains that she saw Katie at the hospital earlier, and she felt like Katie is angry at life. like her whole belief system is shot. That got her to thinking that Katie needs something spiritual to believe in, so she started wondering if Nick and Taylor would let Katie be Jack's Godmother.

Bridget tells her mom about Katie's attitude.
Brooke thinks that's a sweet idea, since Katie adores Jack. Bridget agrees, but she also wonders if Katie can guide Jack spiritually in her current state of mind. Brooke adds that Taylor might not be too keen on Jack being so close to her longtime rival's daughter and sister. If that's the case, Bridget states, then she still might have another chance, since she and Nick want to try to have a baby again. Brooke is thrilled by that news. "This is the marriage that I always wanted to have," Bridget shares. She thinks she'll have Nick talk to Katie about her idea, since Katie confides in him. Brooke marvels at how Bridget handles Katie and Nick's closeness, since most women would worry about their husband being so close to another woman. "You and Nick have been even closer," Bridget points out. Brooke ashamedly concedes that point. Bridget explains that she thinks about things like that differently now, since all her worrying never stopped anything from happening, so now she just accepts that what's meant to be will be. Brooke thanks Bridget for being there for Katie, since she hasn't been able to between her mother's illness and everything going at Forrester. Bridget wonders if Katie's decision to move out of there was too hasty, but she thinks she can remedy the situation by arranging for Katie to help out with Jack more.

Katie tells Nick that she's pregnant.
Aboard the Shady Marlin, Katie tells Nick that she's not sick and her heart is fine. She reflects that she always hoped they'd never have to talk about what happened between then on Catalina Island. Nick says that he hasn't been pretending that it didn't happen, but Katie feels ashamed and tells him not to give her sympathy she doesn't deserve. Nick says that if anyone should be ashamed, it's him, since he was the one in a relationship, but he can't call the closeness and love they shared that day a mistake. "You will," Katie affirms. She laments that she betrayed Bridget, who selflessly pushed her and Nick together to make what they thought were her final days perfect. Now Katie wishes that had never happened. Nick reminds her that he and Bridget weren't engaged at the time. In addition, he and Bridget lost a child, so they knew what it was like to lose someone they both loved and weren't about to lose Katie that way, too. Bridget's part was to save Katie, while his was to take Katie on the Marlin, and he thinks Bridget never asked about what happened on the boat that day since she knows that whatever happened is done with. So there's no reason to bring it up to Bridget now and cause her a lot of pain. "What happened between us was meant to happen. Don't poison it," Nick urges. Nick turns to leave, before he can exit, a tearful Katie blurts out, "I'm pregnant."
Nick tries to reasssure Katie.
Nick asks how that could be. Katie doesn't know herself, since she's full of antibiotics and anti-rejection drugs. She recalls how she wanted to die that day on Catalina, and now she wishes she had. She can't see anything good coming of this, since she's sure it will cause nothing but misery to everyone involved, and she speculates that the baby might even be a deformed or sickly freak like his mother! Nick tells her not to talk that way, but Katie can only weep about how the sneaky and slutty transplant patient repaid Bridget's efforts to save her by spreading pain and loss, and she can't see how Nick can stand to be around her. Nick tries to reassure her, telling her that he loved her that day on Catalina, and he thinks that she loved him, too, so the child inside her needs no justification. He suggests that the obstacles are all in Katie's head, but Katie doesn't think Bridget will see it that way when she finds out. "I am the worst kind of hypocrite. Everything I touch withers and dies," she sobs. She thought they could keep what happened a secret, but they can't, and she feels like life is a joke. That makes her think about Storm's sacrifice to keep her alive, but she thinks this just proves that the wrong person died that day. She tells Nick not to blame himself, since his hands are clean while she's the one who selfishly acted in her own interests.
Nick's cell phone rings. Katie sees that it's Bridget and tells Nick to answer it, since she won't steal one more minute from Bridget. A tearful Katie turns to leave, but Nick tells her not to go. Katie tells him that she'll be on deck so he can take his call. As Katie heads up on deck, Nick answers the phone. Bridget asks if he's OK, since his mom said he rushed out. Nick apologizes for holding up dinner, but Bridget says it's OK, since her day has been hectic, too. She tells him that her mother is there with her and shares that Eric was put on a respirator today. Nick is sorry to hear that and says he'll be home soon, but Bridget asks him to check on Katie on his way, since she feels like something is not right with Katie.

"Storm" appears to Katie.
Meanwhile, up on deck, Katie recalls finding out that she is pregnant. She asks herself, "What have I done?" She flashes back to all the things Nick and Bridget have done for her, and she then recalls officiating at their wedding. Her thoughts then turn to the night of passion she and Nick spent in Catalina. Katie then looks skyward and cries out, "Why do you hate me so much? What do you want from me?" Suddenly, she hears a familiar voice calling her name. Looking around, Katie tries to find the source of the voice, and she looks into the water and sees her late brother Storm rising out of the bay. "I'm here for you, Katie," 'Storm' says to her.
