Marcus wants to play hooky.
Marcus meets Steffy on the Forrester Sky Lounge and tells her that he's the new head of shipping and receiving. Steffy congratulates him. She thinks he earned the new post with his innovations, like the new tracking system that Eric initially disliked, and she's sure her granddad would be as proud of him as she is. Of course, it means he's her boss now - that is, assuming she stays on at Forrester. Marcus asks why she'd leave. She reminds him that half her family was tossed out, including her dad, and she doesn't think that was fair. Marcus candidly confides that he agrees about the firings besides Felicia, but he fears Ridge pushed Donna too hard in trying to get her to sign over the company. Steffy and Marcus both hope her dad and his mom could work things out, but Marcus thinks the first thing he has to deal with is Owen. He just hope his mom listened to his plea last night to give Owen the boot. Right on cue, Marcus gets a call from Donna with the news that Mr. Knight is history. As he hangs up the phone, Marcus does a victory dance, drawing stares from some employees on the roof. Marcus apologizes to Steffy for drawing attention, but Steffy says it's cool, since people know they're friends. Marcus says he'd like to be more than friends and exercises his new authority by giving Steffy her first assignment: he suggests they play hooky and go to the beach!

Steffy and Marcus frolic on the beach.
Next thing you know, Marcus and Steffy are cruising down to Malibu in her Prius. They get to the beach, get into their bathing suits and enjoy a fun filled day by the ocean. They run around in the surf, fly kites, play paddle ball, boogie board and do a lot of kissing.

Katie sighs as she sits in the hospital.
At the Marone mansion, Nick and Bridget wake up and cuddle in bed. When the phone rings, Bridget reminds Nick that she's on call and has to answer it, but she's pleasantly surprised to find Katie on the line. Katie thanks her again for dinner last night and for the prom photo. Bridget says that it was her pleasure, especially after seeing the bright look on Katie's face when she opened the gift. Katie says she'll let Bridget go, since Dr. Patrick will be back any minute. When Bridget realizes that Katie is at the hospital for a check-up, she says she'll be right there and puts Nick on. Katie thanks Nick as well before ending the call. As Katie hangs up the phone, she looks at a wallet sized version of the prom photo and sights. Back in the bedroom, Nick asks Bridget if these tests are anything to worry about. Bridget assures him that the tests are routine. Since his wife assures him that there's nothing to be concerned about, Nick invites her back into bed for some more sex.

Bridget asks Nick if he wants to give Jack a sibling.
After they make love, Nick and Bridget lie in bed some more. Bridget laughs that she could stay here forever if it wasn't for Jack. Nick smiles as he thanks her for the way she loves his son unconditionally. He thinks he and Jack are both lucky to have her in their lives. Bridget remarks that loving Jack comes easily, but she admits that she's been thinking about giving Jack a little brother or sister and asks Jack's dad what he thinks. When Nick is silent, Bridget assumes she brought up the subject too soon in their new marriage, but Nick says that's not it at all. He tells her that he'd love to have a child with her, since she knows he always wanted a big family. He's just a bit concerned because of the pain they went through when they lost Nicole and doesn't want to see her hurt that way again. Bridget thanks him for his concern, especially since her doctor said she might have trouble carrying a baby to term after the miscarriage. Still, even if it could be difficult, it's not impossible, and she'd like to take the chance if Nick will. Nick agrees. Later, after they've gotten out of bed and Bridget has already left, Nick looks under the bed for something and finds the Lakers cap he bought for Katie when she was recovering from her heart transplant. He fondly recalls that day and then puts the cap back under the bed.

Dr. Patrick has surprising news for Katie.
At the hospital, Dr. Patrick looks at Katie's tests and says that everything looks good. He asks Katie how her emotional mood has been. She tells him that she has good and bad days, although the bad days have been fewer lately. Still, her recent health crises are always in the back of her mind, but she tries to stay positive and to stop clinging to all the things holding her back. Even if her old dreams might not come true, she proclaims, she can still make some new ones. Dr. Patrick asks if any of those old dreams involve Nick Marone. Katie tells him that Nick is just a friend, and she's grateful to both Nick and Bridget for all they've done. Dr. Patrick says he understands and asks if there's anything else he should know. Katie notes that she's been queasy every day for the last few weeks. The doctor double-checks the chart and finds some elevated blood levels that might explain the nausea, so he asks Katie to wait while he has the lab run another test. When he returns, he tells Katie that the lab found something unexpected. When Katie tells him to break the news, the doctor sums her condition up in two words: "You're pregnant." Katie says that can't be, but Dr. Patrick assures her he ran the test twice. As Katie reels from the news, Bridget comes in and asks how the tests turned out. Sensing something wrong from the look on Katie's face, she anxiously asks, "What is it? Tell me," as Dr. Patrick and Katie exchange knowing glances.
