Katie is horrified that she kissed Nick.
At the Marone mansion, Nick tells Katie she's a good kisser. Katie returns the compliment but then pulls away in horror when she realizes what she just did! She tells Nick that what just happened was wrong, so they have to forget it. She can't believe she's been pushing him to get back together with Bridget only to respond to his plea that she be impulsive by kissing him passionately. She vows never to follow her impulses again. Nick offers her some water, but Katie says she has to go, and she knocks over an expensive vase on the way out. Nick tells Katie not to worry about that, so she opens the door and finds Bridget standing there. Seeing the bothered look on her aunt's face, Bridget asks what happened. Katie covers that she came over to give Nick a message about Jack but then clumsily knocked over a vase. Bridget asks what the message was about, but Katie says it doesn't matter, since Jack is with Taylor. Bridget asks why Jack is with Taylor (but I guess she means why is he STILL with Taylor, since Nick told her Taylor was taking Jack for the night on last Friday's show). Nick explains that he allowed Taylor to have some time with the baby. Bridget tells Katie it was good seeing her and then tells Nick she'll be waiting for him upstairs.

Nick tells Katie how he feels.
Once Bridget is upstairs, Katie tells Nick that this just proves why they have to forget about the kiss and instructs him not to say anything to Bridget. Nick counters that he can't just forget the kiss, because he sees now that his heart's not in the same place as Bridget's. He thinks he needs to be honest that he can't give Bridget what she needs. Katie tells him not to act this way because of one silly kiss, but Nick insists that Bridget needs to be happy, and she can't get that from him. Katie tells him that she has to go and walks out the door. At the top of the stairs, Bridget comes over to the railing and asks Nick if anything's wrong, since she was waiting for him to come up. Coming downstairs, she tells Nick that things seemed odd with Katie just now and wonders if her aunt is OK, but Nick doesn't say anything. Bridget tells him that she came over because she got someone to cover her shift at the hospital so she could come over and give him her undivided attention. She leans forward and kisses him, not realizing that Katie is outside watching from behind the slightly ajar door.

Bridget asks Nick what's going on.
Bridget senses something wrong and asks Nick what it is. Nick tells her that he loves her, but things are feeling uncomfortable. Bridget asks what he means, so he tells her that he's confused about how to make this relationship work. Bridget asks why he feels that way. Nick fumbles for the words to answer her, leading Bridget to wonder if there's another woman involved. She lashes out at him and charges, "You two are unbelievable! I can't believe that she would betray me like this. I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for her." As Bridget rails about what a fool she was not to expect something this low, Katie keeps listening and grows concerned.

Ridge and Brooke face off with Taylor and Rick.
At the Bel Air mansion, Brooke tries to get Rick to see how wrong it is for him to be with Taylor, but Rick tells her that she can't control other people's feelings. Ridge urges Rick to see how this will hurt Phoebe, but Rick counters that he loves Taylor and can't just turn those feelings off. Brooke warns that Phoebe will be devastated by the news that he's involved with her own mother. Taylor quips that Brooke should know all about that, having slept with both of Bridget's husbands. Ridge tells Taylor not to make a bad situation worse, but Brooke doesn't see how it can get any worse. She insists that she and Ridge are taking Jack home to Nick, but Taylor asserts that neither of them has a right to do anything where Jack is concerned. Brooke reminds Taylor that all her visits with Jack are supposed to be supervised. Rick fires back that Nick approved this visit, which went so well that Nick let Taylor keep the baby for the afternoon. Taylor insists that her baby is just fine with her and finds it funny that Brooke, who used to complain that she [Taylor] wasn't bonding with the baby, now wants to take him away. "It's not happening!" she exclaims, telling Brooke and Ridge to get out and enjoy their life together.

Ridge asks Taylor if she's thought about how this will affect Phoebe. Rick finds that funny given how Ridge tried so hard to break him and Phoebe up in the past and asks why Ridge isn't thrilled that he has another woman. "Not when that other woman is her mother, for god sakes!" Ridge fires back, appealing to Taylor to be reasonable. Rick and Taylor both see nothing wrong with what they're doing. Rick reminds Ridge that Taylor has now lost two husbands to Brooke. He then turns to Brooke and asks her to stop and see the hell Taylor's been through because of her. Brooke urges him not to let Taylor use him, but Ridge says he's here of his own will. Seeing that this is going nowhere, Ridge suggests to Brooke that they leave. Before she leaves, a sobbing Brooke tells Rick that she loves him, which is why she hates to see him make such a terrible mistake. "If it is, it's mine to make," Rick responds. Brooke gives him a kiss on the cheek and then leaves with Ridge, glaring at Taylor on their way out.

Once Brooke returns to Forrester with Ridge, she continues to rant about how wrong it is for Rick to be with Taylor. Ridge agrees, and he just hopes that Taylor will eventually see how wrong this is. Brooke hopes Rick comes to see that, too. Ridge assures her that everything will work out before leaving for a meeting with some suppliers downtown. Alone in the office, Brooke tries to call Storm and gets his voice mail. She leaves him a message that Taylor is having unsupervised visits with Jack and she's concerned, so she needs him to call her back.

Rick reassures Taylor.
Back at the Bel Air mansion, Taylor thanks Rick, who tells her how much it meant to hear her say she loves him in front of his mom and Ridge. When they laugh about the looks on Brooke and Ridge's faces, Rick asks Taylor if she just said that to stick it to those two. Taylor assures him that what she said was straight from the heart. She doesn't know what the future holds for them, but she feels lucky to have him in her life. She sits Jack up on her laugh, marveling at how beautiful her son is. She asks Rick if he thinks there's a chance she can get Jack back. Rick assures her that there is and promises to help her fight for Jack, confident that they'll win. Rick then leaves, so Taylor is alone in the house when Brooke stops by unannounced. Taylor asks Brooke to leave, but Brooke says that they have unfinished business. She fumes that Nick should never have let Taylor take Nick for the night, but Taylor suggests she take that up with Nick. Brooke then realizes that Rick isn't there and says she has concerns about Taylor being alone here with "my child." Taylor points out that Jack is not Brooke's son, but Brooke retorts that she's still concerned about the baby, and she thinks that Taylor's relationship with Rick shows that Taylor isn't stable enough to be with Jack. Taylor points out that Rick was the one who reached out to her, but Brooke charges that Rick couldn't bear to see a woman in crisis.

Taylor insists that she's better now.
Taylor suggests that maybe Rick feels responsible for his mother's actions but doesn't think it matters, since she's better now. She thinks it's only a matter of time before she finishes her psychological evaluation and goes back to court to get her custodial rights back. Brooke refuses to believe that Taylor is stable as long as Taylor is still involved with Rick. Taylor assures Brooke that she didn't intend for this to happen, but it did, so she asks Brooke to let Rick be a man and make his own decisions about what he wants. "If you won't do it for me," Taylor states, "do it for your son." Brooke, however, finds the whole relationship to be disgusting, so she promises to fight for Jack's safety as long as Taylor remains with Rick. Taylor sniffles that she needs her son. "Not until you unhand mine," Brooke seethes, telling Taylor that she'll she her in court. Brooke then storms out, leaving a sobbing Taylor sitting on the court holding one of Jack's stuffed animals.
