Rick is pleased to see Taylor with Jack.

It's a new day in L.A. Rick stops by the Bel Air mansion to see how Taylor's night with Jack went. He's pleased to see Taylor sitting on the couch cradling her son. Taylor raves about her amazing night with Jack and thanks Rick for making it happen. Rick tells her not to discount her own part in getting her night with her son and reminds her how special she is. He tells Taylor to forget that he used to date her daughter and that he's Brooke's son, since none of that matters. The only thing that's important is that he's here to help get her life back on track and to reunite her with her son. Taylor says that she knows he's committed to helping her be with Jack, but Rick admits that he has an ulterior motive, since he wants her to see how happy she'll be if she shares her life with him. Taylor tells Rick that she promised not to let anyone back in her heart, but he's making it hard for her to keep that promise. Rick leans toward her and kisses her. Soon after, while Taylor is upstairs with Jack, the phone rings. Rick answers and finds that it's Nick, who's calling to check on Taylor and Jack. Nick is pleased when he hears Taylor's night with Jack went well, but he wants to remind her that he expects Jack home this morning. Rick asks if Taylor can just have a few more hours with Jack. Nick agrees to let Taylor have Jack until the afternoon.

Nick doesn't like Katie's interference.

After Nick hangs up the phone, he gets a visit from Katie. She senses that he's in a mood and asks if it has anything to do with Bridget, since she thinks that it's time that he and Bridget call it quits right away. Nick seems surprised, so Katie explains that things aren't working out like she thought they would. She fears that he's just using Bridget to get back at Brooke or to fulfill his manly needs. Nick asks how this is any of her business. She replies that she wants what's best for Bridget, and it's clear to her now that Nick doesn't love Bridget the way Bridget loves him. Nick reminds her that he and Bridget both agreed that they'd go slow, without any commitments or promises, since he's still going through a divorce. Katie thinks Bridget understands that in her head, but not in her heart, because Bridget is more wrapped up in the relationship than Nick is. Nick reminds her that he and Bridget agreed that they'd have more freedom with no strings attached, Katie proclaims that she's not a no-strings kind of girl, but Nick tells her not to knock it until she tries it.

Katie does something impulsive.

Katie asks if he's sleeping with anyone else. Nick says he isn't, but he's free to if he wants to, since it's human nature for people to act on their impulses. Katie calls him a caveman with that kind of attitude. Nick takes that a compliment, informing Katie that it's not wrong for him to act on his impulses, even if she doesn't act on hers. Katie admits that she might have a little cavewoman inside her, so Nick tells her that he'd love to see that. He says that he'd love to see her come out from behind the shell of the 16-year-old pimply face girl that the kids used to make fun of, because she's beautiful, hot and sexy. "Don't you ever have impulses?" he asks, suggesting that she listen to them if she does. Katie decides to do just that and kisses him!

Ridge agrees with Brooke about Rick and Taylor.

Brooke goes to Ridge's office to tell him that she caught Taylor together with Rick at the Marone mansion last night. She thinks Taylor is very sick and is too unstable to be caring for Jack. Ridge is surprised, since Taylor assured him that she wouldn't cross the line with Rick. Brooke points out that Taylor obviously lied to him. Ridge worries that this isn't how the Taylor he knows behaves. Brooke tells him that the Taylor he knew is gone, and the "new" Taylor keeps getting worse every single day. Ridge asks her what she was doing at Nick's place to begin with. Brooke explains that she was worried about Jack. She knows Ridge has concerns about her ties to Jack, but she just wishes he could separate his feelings about Nick from those about Jack. Ridge explains that he has nothing against Jack, but he worries that Brooke's feelings for the boy will send her back to Nick. Brooke assures him that the only relationship she has with Nick stems from her concern for Jack. Ridge concedes that she's a good mother, and that applies to her bond with Jack, so he'll try to separate Nick from Jack. He just wants to finally have the future that he and Brooke always dreamed of. Brooke kisses him and thanks him for understanding, especially now that Rick is swept up in Taylor's life. She wonders how that relationship will affect Phoebe. Ridge agrees that they have to end things between Rick and Taylor before Phoebe finds out. Brooke points out that Jack might be affected as well and wants to go over to Taylor's to check on the baby. Ridge thinks that's a good idea and decides to go with her.

Phoebe has some big news.

Phoebe drops by the Bel Air mansion and is surprised to find Rick there. Taylor asks Phoebe why she isn't in class. Phoebe explains that she has some exciting news: Constantine asked her to join him on the Australian leg of his concert tour! Taylor seems surprised, but she thinks it's a great opportunity. Phoebe is glad Rick is here, since she wanted to talk to him about this, too. She knows they're just starting to see if they can get back together, so she wants to know how he feels about her going on tour with Constantine. Before Rick can answer, the doorbell rings. Phoebe answers and finds Ridge and Brooke on her mom's doorstep. Phoebe shares her news with her dad, who thinks it sounds like fun but worries about her missing school. Phoebe assures him that she checked with her professors, and she'll only miss a few classes since Spring Break is coming up. Phoebe then turns to Rick and asks if he's OK with her going, since she won't go if he isn't. Rick tells her that he wants her to go. He admits that their dinner the other night was special, but he doesn't want to hold her back. Phoebe recalls her visit to Australia with Rick last year and asks if he wants to go back there with her. Rick says that he'd love to, but he has commitments here. He wants her to have a good time and not even think about him. Phoebe doesn't think that will be easy, but she'll try. With the support of her parents and Rick, she bids them goodbye and leaves to start packing.

Brooke insists that she's bringing Jack back to Nick.

Brooke sighs that Taylor is still involved with Rick given that Phoebe has feelings for Rick. Taylor doesn't think Brooke, of all people, should go there, but Ridge agrees that it's unhealthy for Taylor to be involved with Rick behind everyone's back if their daughter has feelings for Rick. Rick reminds Ridge that he broke up with Phoebe months ago, so he was surprised when she came to him, out of the blue, and asked to get back together with him. Ridge thinks that makes it pretty convenient for Rick, who just shoved Phoebe out of town. Taylor asks Ridge why he's coming down on Rick for encouraging Phoebe to pursue a wonderful opportunity, but Brooke argues that Taylor is being quite self-serving. Taylor suggests that Brooke pipe down given Brooke's history with her daughter's husbands, and Rick agrees. Brooke tells Rick he's in over his head, but Taylor insists that she's not using Rick and has feelings for him. Ridge tells Taylor that the relationship has to end for Phoebe's sake, and Brooke urges Taylor to see that this is an unhealthy place for a baby. Ridge agrees that Jack shouldn't be here right now. Rick can't believe that Ridge, who fought to keep Brooke from Jack, is now agreeing with Brooke about Jack. Taylor says that the baby has permission to be here, but Brooke insists that she and Ridge are taking Jack home to Nick right now. Rick steps in and tells his mom that she's not taking Jack anywhere!
