Katie tells Thorne about Brooke's rape.
Thorne and Katie return to Thorne's beach house after dropping Aly off. Thorne frets that he still can't understand what his mother could have done that would be so horrible that his dad could toss years of marriage away to take up with Donna. He asks Katie if Donna has said anything to her. Katie confesses that she and Donna barely speak to each other lately, and besides, she doesn't think it's her place to say anything. Thorne realizes from that comment that Katie knows something and begs her to tell him, since he's spent many sleepless nights trying to figure this whole thing out. Seeing how upset Thorne is, Katie breaks down and tells him about Brooke's rape and about his mother's part in it. As Katie explains how Stephanie encouraged and helped the creep who was stalking Brooke, Thorne gets sick to his stomach. Katie assures him that his mother probably never meant for Brooke to be raped and likely just acted irresponsibly in dealing with this guy Andy Johnson, a total stranger, but Thorne is still disgusted at the horrors Brooke at to face thanks to his mother. Thorne asks if he can do to anything. Katie advises that Brooke has been in counseling, but she's still struggling to cope with the rape. She's just glad Brooke has people like Thorne in her corner who care about her and about how this ordeal has affected her.

Thorne is stunned to learn that his mother was involved in the rape.
Thorne tries to imagine what his mother could be thinking. He knows that Stephanie has been obsessed with Brooke for years, but this latest scheme has just gone way too far. He just hopes his mother has learned from her mistake. Even if Stephanie has learned, Katie replies, it won't help Brooke. She knows her sister is strong, but she fears that even Brooke might break down soon from holding all her feelings inside. Thorne says he meant what he said about doing anything he can to help. Katie thanks him; she knows how easy it is for someone to say they want to help, but she actually believes that Thorne means it. Thorne says he does mean it. Sensing how grim this chat is getting, Katie quips that there are only really three things worth talking about, sex, politics and baseball, and she tries to change the subject. Thorne tries to talk about baseball and politics, but he and Katie both realize they're going nowhere fast. When Katie suggests not talking at all, Thorne thinks she's sweet, something he bets he couldn't ever say about her two sisters. Katie's surprised that he's not showing her the door, since he's been intimate with both her sister. The third time's the charm, Thorne quips. Speaking of charms, Katie asks if she brings good luck or bad. "I think you, Katie Logan, could very good luck for me," Thorne replies.

Eric tells Ridge that Brooke doesn't want to see Stephanie.
At Forrester, Eric leaves a message for Stephanie warning her to stay away from Brooke. Ridge comes in and overhears, so he asks Eric if he thinks Stephanie went over to Brooke's already. Eric hopes not, since he just came from Brooke's and learned that Brooke isn't ready to see Stephanie any time soon. Ridge agrees and informs Eric that he spoke with Brooke's rape counselor, who is worried about how much in denial Brooke is. They both worry about the explosion that will happen if Stephanie goes to talk to Brooke. The two men then try to get down to work, but neither of them can concentrate, since they have Brooke on their minds. Eric laments that he insisted that Stephanie apologize to Brooke, because he thought that was what Brooke wanted. Ridge tells Eric not to blame himself, since none of them could have known that Brooke would hold everything in. He's just glad that Brooke has changed the locks and removed that extra key from under the flowerpot, so there's no way Stephanie can get in if she goes there. Eric is still stunned that Stephanie would help some total stranger get into Brooke's home.

Ridge hopes he can find his mother before she gets to Brooke.
Eric tells Ridge that Brooke mentioned when he was there earlier that she had just had a procedure at the hospital and hopes that was not related to the rape. Ridge tells Eric that he can't say much about the procedure, but he can confirm that it had nothing to do with the rape. Eric admires how Ridge has stood by Brooke through this ordeal, but he admits that he's curious about what that means for Brooke and Ridge's relationship. Ashley is more than mildly curious, Ridge admits. Eric remarks that it seems like Ridge is finding his way back to Brooke once again. Ridge doesn't feel like discussing that, so he suggests they try again to reach Stephanie before she gets to Brooke.

Brooke lashes out at Stephanie.
Unfortunately, it's too late, since Stephanie is standing in Brooke's doorway, insisting that she's sorry. Brooke tells Stephanie to save the false apologies; she knows Stephanie is only saying she's sorry because of how disgusted Eric and Ridge and are, and Brooke admits that she's equally disgusted by Stephanie's actions. She orders Stephanie out, but La Forrester stands her ground and states that she doesn't want to cause Brooke any more pain. She insists that she wants to help, but Brooke can't believe that. "That bastard never would have raped me if it weren't for you!" Brooke seethes. Stephanie takes full responsibility for her actions, but she begs Brooke to believe that she didn't deliberately set out to hurt Brooke this way. Brooke asks Stephanie if she's ever been raped. When Stephanie says that fortunately, she has not, Brooke points out that she wasn't as lucky. She bets that Stephanie had a good chuckle at the news of the rape once she learned about it, but Stephanie swears that wasn't the case. "You have no idea what your hatred set in motion," Brooke fumes. Stephanie agrees, so she suggests that Brooke tell her.

Stephanie pleads with Brooke to forgive her.
Brooke starts to relive the events of the night she was raped, but then she stops. She doesn't want to talk about this, and she doesn't see why Stephanie would want to hear it. Stephanie feels like Brooke needs to talk about this to someone, so she urges Brooke to go ahead. After a moment, Brooke resumes her account of the rape, reliving every moment in her head. "He hurt me so bad," she sobs as she remembers the point when Andy overpowered her and had his way with her. Unfortunately, even the memory of how she finally got Andy out of the house does nothing to ease Brooke's mind. She weeps about how Andy told her that she wanted it, even though she knew she didn't. "I'm not a whore," she asserts. Stephanie agrees and tells Brooke that this wasn't her fault now. In listening to Brooke's story, she finally sees how unfair she's been to Brooke. When she thinks of all the names she called Brooke, she realizes now how wrong she was. "You're a good woman," she assures Brooke, lamenting the fact that it took a horrible act like this to make her see it. "You don't deserve this," she states, "and it's all my fault. I brought this on with my hatred, and I'm so very sorry." Brooke doesn't say a thing as she looks at Stephanie and thinks about La Forrester's words.
