While Donna remains locked in the steamroom, pounding on the door and calling for help, Brooke searches for her missing sister. Ridge tells Brooke that there's no sign of Donna on this floor and wonders if Donna might have gone home. Brooke insists that Donna wouldn't have left with Eric waiting for her on stage. She can only think of one person who would want to sabotage Eric's plans, and she's sure Ridge knows who she means.

Thorne and Felicia 'fess up to what they did to Donna.
Eric finds Stephanie backstage and demands to know where Donna is. Stephanie tries to explain that she had no intention of joining him onstage, but that only makes Eric more frustrated. Stephanie admits she may have been wrong, but she had to stop him from making a fool of himself. Eric is furious with her interfering in his life. Thorne and Felicia hear Eric tearing into Stephanie and ask him not to blame their mother, because they were the ones who convinced Stephanie to go out on stage. Thorne defends their actions based on the crowd's response, but Eric doesn't want to hear it and demands to know where Donna is. When Thorne and Felicia admit that they locked Donna in the steamroom. Eric is fit to be tied over his children's careless, thoughtless actions. Eric asks Stephanie if she put their kids up to this, but he doesn't even give her a chance to answer and orders him to wait for him in the showroom. He heads for the gym to find Donna, with Thorne and Felicia right behind.

Stephen fears that Stephanie did something to Donna.
Meanwhile, Stephen, Katie and Storm comb the halls looking for Donna. Jake sees them searching the floor and asks if he can help. Stephen asks Jake to help find Donna, as he's sure Stephanie did something to Donna. The trio heads for the executive floor, where Katie suggests they have security search the whole building. Stephen would rather find Stephanie right now, since he wants to choke the life out of her. A model overhears Stephen mention Stephanie's name and says that La Forrester is in the showroom, although she suggests they stay clear, since Eric is hopping mad. Katie asks the model if she saw Donna, but the model says she hasn't. Stephen fears that Stephanie might have whisked Donna out of the building. Katie tells her dad not to jump to conclusions, but Stephen can only imagine the worst since Stephanie is involved.

Nick confronts Stephanie.
Nick finds Stephanie in the showroom and asks why she hasn't been thrown off the premises. Stephanie counters that she could ask him the same thing and accuses him of being mad that Eric outsmarted him in getting control of the company back. Nick tells Stephanie not to bait him, because he'll take her down again if she does, but this time she won't get back up. Stephanie remains unfazed by Nick's tirade. Nick laments that Eric won't put Stephanie in her place to make this company safe for Brooke. Stephanie asks what Taylor thinks of his obsessing over Brooke this way. Nick ignores the remark and warns Stephanie that someone will put her out of her misery one day. Stephanie retorts that he can't control her or this company anymore, just like he can't control his feelings for Brooke.

Jake checks the gym and hears Donna pounding on the steamroom door. He races to the steamroom door and lets Donna out. He asks Donna if she's OK. With her makeup smeared all over her face, Donna thinks the answer should be obvious and bolts out the door. When Eric, Thorne and Felicia arrive in the gym, they see that the steamroom is empty. Felicia takes that as a sign that someone already let Donna out, so she's sure Donna is fine, but Eric asks his kids how they could be so callous to lock Donna in the steamroom to begin with. Felicia argues that they just wanted to protect the family; that excuse only serves to remind Eric why he can't keep living in this family the way it is.

A disheveled Donna shows up in Brooke's office.
The Logans go to Brooke's office, where Brooke calls security and the loading dock to ask if they've seen Donna. Just then, a disheveled Donna enters and tells her siblings and her dad how Thorne and Felicia locked her in the steamroom to help their mother. Stephen wants to find Stephanie right now; Storm tells his dad to calm down, but Katie thinks they should let Stephen strangle La Forrester for this. Donna weeps that she needs to get back to the show since Eric is waiting, but Brooke explains that the show is over. Donna asks how Eric was when he took his bows. Katie answers that Eric said beautiful things that convinced her that his relationship with Donna is for real. When Donna asks what Eric said, Brooke responds that he didn't say Donna's name, but they all knew who he was talking about. Donna's happy to hear that, but her bubble bursts when Storm recounts how Stephanie came on stage, leading the crowd to think that she was the inspiration Eric talked about. As Brooke tries to comfort a weeping Donna, Katie fumes that Stephanie has to be stopped. Brooke asks Katie to get a tissue from the desk drawer for Donna. As Katie opens the drawer, she sees that Stephanie's gun is still inside.

Brooke gives Stephanie a warning.
Brooke heads for the showroom, where Stephanie is still waiting for Eric. Stephanie hears the door and thinks that it's Thorne or Felicia, so she's surprised when Brooke storms in and reams her for what she did to Donna. Brooke recalls all the years she believed the things Stephanie said about how bad she was, but she's seeing things clearer now that Stephanie is doing that to someone else. She tells Stephanie that Donna never chased after Eric or forced him into making any promises, since Donna just wanted Eric to be happy. Stephanie asks Brooke to forgive her for seeing things a bit differently; Brooke refuses to do that and seethes that Stephanie had to ruin Donna's dreams just to save face with the press and the buyers, all of whom adored Stephanie because she rode on the coattails of Eric's success. That won't work this time, Brooke rants, after the horrible thing Stephanie did to Donna tonight. When Stephanie admires Brooke's devotion to her sister, Brooke warns that she won't let Stephanie do to her sister what she's done to her all these years and yells, "It ends tonight!" before storming out of the showroom.

Katie tells Thorne off.
Thorne is walking the halls looking for Donna when he runs into Katie, who asks if he forgot where he locked Donna up. Thorne asks if Donna is OK. When Katie tears into him for what he did, Thorne insists he had to keep his dad and Donna from making fools of themselves. Katie says that she's the one who feels foolish, since she thought Thorne was different from the rest of his family. Thorne tries to explain, but Katie angrily tells him to forget about her sister and look for his integrity instead, since he must have lost it somewhere.

Eric reassures Donna.
Eric enters his office and finds Donna there, looking frightful with her mussed hair and makeup and ruined dress. Donna sobs that she just wanted to be beautiful for him so he'd be proud of her. Eric tells her that he is proud, because she is beautiful. Donna frets about her dress, but Eric tells her that there are 1,000 dresses here. Donna tells him that she can forgive Thorne and Felicia if he asks him, but she can't forgive Stephanie. She knows he's vulnerable to Stephanie, but she also knows that Stephanie has to be stopped - but he can't be the one to stop her.

Jake blasts Stephanie for what she did to Donna.
In the showroom, Jake calls Stephanie out on the rotten thing she did to Donna, but Stephanie brushes his remarks off. As Jake leaves the showroom, Stephen comes in. He sees the look on Jake's face and brags that it's a sign that no one gives a damn about Stephanie anymore. He thinks that even her poor, brainwashed kids want nothing to do with her. Stephanie thinks Stephen should know, since his kids have always been free of him. Stephen retorts that he didn't know how to protect his family now, but he's watched Stephanie and learned that the key is to eliminate the threat. Stephanie points out that Donna hasn't been eliminated and is just damp. Stephen agrees that Stephanie prefers humiliation, but he finds that to be inefficient. Stephanie threatens to call security, but Stephen brags that she doesn't command anyone here anymore. He tells her not to worry, because this is their last conversation. "Hallelujah," sighs Stephanie, but Stephen advises that he's not done with her yet. "I'll just be choosing my moment," he warns, "and you'll never see it coming."

Stephanie lays it on the line for Donna.
Donna is next to confront Stephanie in the showroom. Stephanie claims that she had to find another way to protect Eric from embarrassment once Donna refused to stay off the runway. Donna quips that Stephanie was the only one who would be embarrassed, but Stephanie insists that the press would have a field day with Eric sleeping with the woman his son recently dumped. Donna rebuts that she just wants Eric to be Eric. Stephanie fires back that Eric is an artist and a dreamer who is so addicted to the grand gesture that he doesn't always know what he wants. That's why it's always been her job, as part of her marriage contract with Eric, to save him from his free spirit, and Eric knows that. That's why she's there every four or five years, every time Eric wants an adventure, to make sure that what the other women in his life do is always undoable, since he always wants his old life back life after a while. Donna rejoins that Eric might leave her, but even if he does, he won't go back to the misery of a life he shared with Stephanie, because Stephanie will be long gone. Stephanie dismisses the remark and advises Donna to wear waterproof mascara next time.

Jackie tells Nick to go home.
Jackie finds Nick in the hall. He tells her that he confronted Stephanie and then went to see Brooke, but Brooke wasn't in her office. Jackie tells Nick to go home while she tries to find Eric. Once Nick is out of sight, Jackie ducks into the showroom, not noticing that Jake saw her go in.

Ridge speaks his mind to Eric.
Outside Eric's office, Ridge asks Thorne and Felicia for an explanation. Felicia doesn't think it matters why they did it as long as they present a united front to their dad. As Brooke passes by, Ridge tries to stop her. Brooke expresses her disgust with Thorne and Felicia and charges that her father was right about how wrong it is for her to always forgive Stephanie. "I'm not going to do this anymore," she states as she storms off before saying something she'll regret. Felicia tells Ridge that Brooke will get over it and knocks on Eric's door. As the siblings enter the office, Eric is surprised to see Ridge with Thorne and Felicia. Ridge says that he didn't know what Thorne and Felicia were planning, and he also understands why Eric wants nothing to do with Stephanie, but he still thinks it would have been a PR nightmare had Eric announced his relationship with Donna after the show. Thorne and Felicia agree with the part about the PR nightmare, arguing that they couldn't stand by and watch Eric throw himself away. Eric responds that it was his mistake to make, and he suggests that his kids stand a bit further back if they don't like it. Felicia says she can't do that. She knows her mother is sometimes impossible to live with, but she thinks Eric can forgive Stephanie as he has in the past. These are supposed to be his golden years with Stephanie, Felicia argues, and she thinks her mother deserves to have that time with her husband.

Stephanie is shot and lies unconscious on the floor.
Stephanie is waiting in the showroom for Eric. Seeing that she's alone, she sighs that she's always the one to turn off the lights and goes to the stage to flip the switch. Once she turns out the lights, she hears a door creak. "Eric, is that you?" she calls out. Just then, a gun emerges from behind the curtain and a shot rings out. A bullet strikes Stephanie, who falls to the floor and lies unconscious.
