Ridge wants answers.
In the hospital, Eric, Thorne and Felicia gather around Stephanie to find out who shot her. Ridge arrives and joins his family as they urge Stephanie to tell them who shot her. Dr. Brauer tells them that they need to get Stephanie into surgery, but the Forresters ask for one more minute. When they ask her again who shot her, Stephanie can only mutter "Logan." Ridge asks which Logan it was, but Dr. Brauer insists on getting Stephanie into surgery now. While Eric goes with the doctor, Ridge, Thorne and Felicia discuss what their mother said. When Felicia fumes that the shooter was a "damned Logan," Ridge hopes she's not blaming Brooke. Felicia doesn't want to discount it given Stephanie and Brooke's history, but she bets it was Donna in some attempt to hold onto Eric. Thorne tells her not to jump to conclusions; he recalls how Stephen once tried to push their mother off a balcony and proposes that Stephen shot Stephanie so he could harm her from a distance. On a similar note, Felicia asks if Katie could have done it; Thorne doesn't want to believe that, although he admits he saw Katie earlier and she was angrier than he ever saw her. Tired of all this idle speculation, Ridge tells his siblings to call him if there's any change and storms off.

Donna points out that she had no reason to shoot Stephanie.
In the Forrester showroom, Lt. Baker and his son Charlie continue questioning the Logans. While Charlie has the CSIs check Donna for gunshot residue, Brooke tells Lt. Baker about her heated confrontation with Stephanie after the show. When Lt. Baker wants details, Storm tells the cop to lay off, since his sister wouldn't volunteer information about her encounter with Stephanie if she shot her. When Stephen chimes in that none of his family should even be answering these questions, Storm asks his dad if he wants to find the shooter. Stephen says he does, so he can shake that person's hand. Donna admits she hated Stephanie, but she points out that she had no reason to shoot her, as she already had Stephanie's husband and place in the company. Storm reminds Lt. Baker that his sisters had plenty of chances over the years to shoot Stephanie if they wanted; the top cop wonders if someone finally reached a breaking point. Stephanie did, Storm puts forth, since she couldn't stand seeing the Logan sisters finally get the respect they deserved. Lt. Baker surmises that neither Storm nor Stephen was a fan of Stephanie's, and he bets that Stephen hated that Donna was dating Eric. Stephen counters that Stephanie hated that, too, just as Eric hated hearing from Stephanie about it. He suggests Lt. Baker talk to Eric. Baker says he might do that. Stephen reminds Lt. Baker that plenty of people hated Stephanie, so he wants to be clear that neither he nor his kids shot Stephanie.

Katie is shocked when Donna tells her about the shooting.
After the cops leave, the Logans go back to Brooke's office. While Storm makes some coffee, Donna asks for something to eat, as she hasn't eaten all day. Brooke asks Donna how she can think of food at a time like this. Before Donna can answer, Katie comes in. Glad to see his youngest sister, Storm almost spills his coffee on Stephen. When everyone asks where she's been, Katie replies that she went to the ladies' room and asks what's going on. She's shocked when her siblings tell her that Stephanie was shot and asks who did it. That's what the cops are trying to determine, Stephen explains. On that note, Storm asks his dad to level with him if he shot Stephanie so they can work out a deal with the D.A. Katie can't believe Storm suspects their father, who insists that he didn't try to kill anyone. Donna and Brooke point out that everyone in their family had a motive to shoot Stephanie, but that doesn't mean any of them did it. Katie asks about the gun; Brooke looks in her drawer and discovers that the gun is gone! She recalls that everyone here knew the gun was in there, so she wonders... Storm suggests they stop right there before they say anything incriminating, but Brooke insists that they have to be honest with each other. Going around the room, everyone denies shooting Stephanie, even though they had good reason to do it.

Stephen and Storm don't like what Ridge is implying.
Ridge barges in on the Logans and demands to know which one of them shot his mother. As Storm tells Ridge to lay off, Brooke steps in and asks Ridge how his mother is. Ridge explains that his mother is in surgery, but she was conscious briefly before they brought her into the O.R. and said that a Logan shot her! What else would she say? Stephen asks as Katie points out that Stephanie might have been unconscious from loss of blood. Ridge insists that his mother was quite coherent and looks first to Stephen and then to Donna, asking each of them if they shot his mother. Fed up, Brooke orders her dad and siblings out of the office so she can talk to Ridge alone. Once the others leave, Brooke orders Ridge not to say another word. She knows he's upset about his mother, but that doesn't excuse his barging in here and demanding explanations from her family. Ridge asks if Stephen did it; Brooke tells him that her dad denied it, and she believes him.

Brooke has words with Ridge.
Ridge fumes that Brooke is willing to accept her dad's word but not his mother's. Brooke points out that Stephanie has many enemies, especially after ending her friendship with Taylor, separating from Eric and insulting Jackie. Ridge points out to Brooke that she's at the top of the list of those people hurt by his mother, and he also knows how protective her family is of her, so he wonders if what happened with Donna was the last straw for one of them. Which one? Brooke asks. Ridge suggests that what happened to Donna today was so horrible, but Brooke thinks he's wrong if he thinks it's Donna. Ridge points out that they can debate all they want now, but the truth will come out once the police question his mother and she names her assailant.

Thorne and Felicia wait for news of their mother's condition.
In the hospital, Eric tells Dr. Brauer that he's not leaving Stephanie's side, so he's going to be in the operating room while Stephanie is in surgery. Dr. Brauer objects, but when Eric won't back down, she tells him to get into a mask and gown, since they have to get started. Soon after, Eric is in a mask and gown and watches with Dr. Brauer as the surgeon, Dr. Hopp, goes in and removes the bullet. Even once the bullet is out, Eric frets over how much blood Stephanie has lost and wonders who could have done this to her. Outside, Thorne and Felicia anxiously wait for news. Felicia continues to speculate that Donna did this to get revenge on Stephanie. Thorne tells her to keep her voice down, although he admits that the Logans probably felt like their moment of glory was stolen - a moment of glory that should have been the Forresters' to begin with, he adds. Felicia laments that their family should be celebrating right now, not standing vigil here, even though she's sure their mom is too tough to just die from this. Dr. Brauer comes out to tell them that Stephanie made it through surgery and is with Eric in recovery; Felicia and Thorne hug over the good news.

Eric is by Stephanie's bedside when she awakens.
Stephanie wakes up in recovery and finds Eric by her side. He tells her that he stayed with her the whole time, even when she was in surgery, and she came through it like a champ. He adds that the kids are here, but he thinks she should get some rest and wait until tomorrow to see them. Stephanie wants to talk, but Eric insists on getting the last word this time.

Lt. Baker and Detective Baker talk with the doctor.
Dr. Brauer gives Lt. Baker and Detective Baker the bullet that was removed from Stephanie, informing them that she has already faxed a report to their office. The Bakers want to speak with Stephanie, but the doctor tells them that Stephanie needs to rest tonight. Charlie worries that Stephanie's testimony will be less reliable in the morning. Lt. Baker thanks the doctor and thinks that this bullet, which is .22 caliber, will help narrow the search, especially if Stephanie can tell them who shot her.

Stephanie tells Eric that Donna shot her.
Meanwhile, Thorne and Felicia stand vigil in the waiting room, glad that at least their dad is with their mom. They don't see Donna come off the elevator and make her way over to the recovery area. Inside the room, Eric tells Stephanie that he'll stay there for her, since their lives are intertwined forever. Donna comes over and peeks through the window, watching as Eric kisses Stephanie on the forehead. Eric then asks Stephanie which Logan shot her; "Donna," she groggily answers.
