Ridge asks Brooke to return the photo of Jack to Nick.
Ridge enters Brooke's bedroom and finds her looking at the photo of Jack again. Brooke asks how his mother is. He jokes that his mother is complaining about the food already. Brooke tells him that she's trying to decide what to do about the photo. Ridge asks if Taylor gave her the photo, but Brooke says that Nick did. Ridge offers to help her give the photo back, so Brooke gives him the photo and thanks him. She then asks if Donna's name came up when he went to see his mother. Ridge says it didn't, although he did find a phone message from Donna when he came in about some family meeting. Brooke said she heard it. Ridge is surprised she's not at the meeting, but she points out that he is her family, too. Ridge guesses she feels torn right now. Brooke admits that she made a promise to him and to Nick and Taylor about Jack, but she also wants to talk to Ridge about something. She reminds him how he always used to suspect the worst of Rick and hopes he isn't doing the same thing to Donna know. Ridge promises that he isn't. Brooke assures him that her sister would never shoot anyone.

Brooke makes Ridge a promise.
Ridge suggests they let the police deal with that and proposes that they not let their differences of opinion over their families affect their relationship. Brooke thinks that's hard, but Ridge thinks living apart from each other is harder. Brooke agrees and kisses him, telling him that she loves him. "Right back at you," Ridge replies. They then make their way up to the bedroom, where they make love. Brooke is glad to be here, so close to him. Ridge agrees that things seem simpler for him, too, when they're together like this. Brooke promises to never pull away from him if they exchange harsh words or disagree. "Never's a very long time," Ridge responds, but Brooke repeats, "Never," and kisses him again.

Slippery Pam brings Stephanie her slippers.
Eric, Thorne, Felicia and Pam check on Stephanie in the hospital. Stephanie says she had a strange dream about Pam, who reminds her older sister how she was coming to the fashion show, but Stephanie forgot to tell anyone. Pam says it's OK, as she and Tiny are caring for themselves with her and Stephanie's mother is on a cruise. Stephanie is surprised Pam brought the dog. Pam changes the subject and pulls out Stephanie's slippers. When Stephanie asks how Pam got the slippers from her hotel room, Pam quips, "I'm a very slippery character."

Thorne stands by his mother.
Lt. Baker and Detective Baker come in. Stephanie is pleased to see Charlie all grown up and following in his dad's footsteps. The Bakers tell Stephanie they are here for her statement, and Stephanie is quick to tell them that they should arrest Donna Logan. Eric asks her not to do this, but Thorne and Felicia are confident that their mother knew what she saw and think that the detectives have heard all they need to.

Felicia doesn't see a need to question Stephanie's statement.
Charlie asks Stephanie if she saw Donna fire the gun; Felicia doesn't see a need to question her mother's statement, but Lt. Baker points out that they need physical evidence given the personal motives Stephanie and Donna would have to lie about each other. To that end, Lt. Baker asks Stephanie if she knows anyone who owns a .22 caliber revolver. Stephanie admits she gave one to Brooke, which shocks Thorne, Felicia and Pam. Stephanie explains that Brooke even said she had the gun in her desk to give it back to her. Eric suggests they table this discussion, but Stephanie is sure a Logan, probably Donna, has the gun.

Eric invites Stephanie to come home to recover.
After the detectives leave, Stephanie continues to suggest that Donna shot her, much to Eric's dismay. Pam tells Stephanie that the social worker wants to come by to discuss Stephanie's release in a few days. Stephanie looks forward to going home, although she frets that she might need a nurse for some things. Eric suggests that in some respects, someone from the family might be better than some nurse. Felicia and Thorne both offer to take their mother in, but Eric thinks the important thing is for everyone in the family heal, so he offers to have Stephanie come back home to recuperate. Stephanie accepts the offer while Felicia thanks her dad. Eric is sure they will have a lot to talk about to get past this, but he thinks the important thing is that they settle issues like this as a family.

Katie expects Stephen to leave yet again.
Meanwhile, Donna, Katie, Storm and Stephen meet in Stephen's hotel room. Donna tells the others how Stephanie has accused her of being the shooter. Storm points out that Stephanie's say-so alone isn't evidence, but Donna points out that innocent people sometimes go to jail. Especially when people like Stephanie manufacture evidence and make stuff-up, Stephen agrees. Katie asks Stephen if it's time for him to leave, like he always does, since someone is bound to look for something that will incriminate him soon enough. Stephen is shocked that Katie thinks he's the shooter. Katie points out that he refused to be tested for gunshot residue, and he's been threatening Stephanie since he returned to town. Stephen reminds Katie that Donna is the one who Stephanie is pointing the finger at.

Stephen and Donna wonder what's up with Katie.
Storm tells the members of his family that none of them can leave town right now, although he points out that Jackie Marone will have to explain why she bolted out of the country right after the fashion show once she returns. Stephen asks why the police aren't checking Jackie out. Katie agrees that the police should be looking for Jackie rather than questioning her, but Storm reminds her that she really hasn't accounted for her whereabouts that day. Neither has Brooke, Katie points out, asking where Brooke is. Stephen points out that Brooke has had reasons to shoot Stephanie for years, but Storm suggests they not talk like that right now. He doesn't think Stephanie's accusations against Donna will hold up, but he warns that Stephanie might settle for anyone named Logan if she can't get Donna arrested. Katie gets all fidgety as Storm goes over this and has to leave the room suddenly. Stephen asks what's wrong with Katie. Donna thinks this whole thing upsets Katie, but she knows Katie has faith in Storm. Stephen says they all have faith in Storm; he know she doesn't say it often, but he's glad Storm is always there for his sisters.

Storm tells Lt. Baker to get a warrant.
Storm tells his dad and Donna that they have to cooperate with the police. Katie returns and nervously asks if she became a suspect while she was in the bathroom. Storm says that they all have to stop thinking of each other as suspects. Donna agrees, especially when the shooter can be someone like Stephanie's loopy sister. Katie says she can't imagine someone shooting their sister, even though she's thought about it herself a few times. Donna quips that she knows Katie adores her, and Katie admits that's true lately, claiming that nothing bad will happen to Donna. Just then, Lt. Baker and Charlie arrive; they say they hoped to find Brooke here, since they were told Brooke has a gun that Stephanie gave her which wasn't in Brooke's office when they searched. Unfortunately, Storm states, Brooke isn't here now. Lt. Baker asks if he can look around anyway. Not without a warrant, Storm advises, but Stephen wants to prove that he can cooperate and tells the Bakers to look around, as he has nothing to hide.

Lt. Baker and Charlie find the weapon.
While Charlie goes to check the bedroom of Stephen's suite, Katie nervously asks if she can get her coat from the closet. Lt. Baker opens the closet door and finds the suit Stephen wore the day of the shooting, just back from the cleaners. Baker points out that they obviously can't test it for residue now. Stephen and Storm explain that Storm spilled coffee on that suit that day, so he suggests Lt. Baker look for coffee residue. In fact, he's annoyed with the whole search thing and withdraws his consent to search. Storm tells Lt. Baker to leave until he has a warrant, since he thinks his dad has been more than patient. Just then, Charlie returns with a revolver he found behind a wall vent in the bedroom. Stephen fumes that he hasn't seen that gun since it was in Brooke's office. Storm tells his dad and his siblings to hush up, but Stephen answers anyway when Lt. Baker asks if this is Stephanie's gun, claiming Stephanie is framing. Lt. Baker has heard enough and tells Charlie to take Stephen in. As Charlie reads Stephen his rights, Storm tells his dad not to worry.
