Storm tries to calm an angry Nick.
As Nick is brought into the police precinct, he insists that he didn't shoot Shane. Detective Scott says the evidence says otherwise; Nick states that the evidence is wrong. Taylor arrives; when Nick asks why she's here, she says she had to follow him. She tells him that Jackie wanted to come, too, but she convinced her not to. Lt. Baker tells Taylor that she shouldn't be here, either, but Taylor asserts that she needs to stand by her husband. She gives Lt. Baker her word that Nick would never kill anyone, but Baker states that her word isn't good enough. Storm gets the cops to give Nick and Taylor a moment alone. Nick assures Taylor he's fine and tells her to forget about him. He wants her to focus on what's going on at the hospital. Taylor tells him that Bridget called to let them know that the eggs are ready to be implanted. Nick tells her to go to the hospital, but Taylor refuses to leave him here to face these charges. Nick tells her to let him worry about that while she goes to the hospital. Once Taylor leaves, Storm advises Nick that there is physical evidence linking him to the crime, which means Baker can make a solid case. Nick counters that Baker only has a loose theory. He tells Storm about how he found some things in the wrong places on the boat that night and thought Phoebe might have moved them, but now he wonders if Shane might have followed Phoebe to the boat that night, or if Shane himself had been followed. Storm wonders if the Forresters did this, since they hate Nick. Before they can discuss it further, Baker and Scott come to take Nick to be booked.

Ridge makes a confession to his mother.
At the Forrester mansion, Ridge laments to Stephanie, "It's wrong, Mother. I should be the one in custody, not Nick." Stephanie reminds him that Shane's death was an accident, but Ridge still can't let Nick go to jail for a a crime he didn't commit. Stephanie points out that Nick may not go to jail, especially since with Storm as his attorney. She reminds Ridge how Storm got Taylor off and thinks he can do the same for Nick. Ridge notes that Lt. Baker would not have arrested Nick unless he thought he had a strong enough case to convict. Stephanie tells him to stop thinking of Nick as convicted, since that hasn't happened yet. She urges Ridge not to ruin the rest of his life by confessing and worrying about Nick, who is just going to get what he deserves. Ridge asks her how she can let an innocent man go to jail. Stephanie suggests that Nick won't see jail time, even if he's convicted, since he has no criminal record, but Ridge would certainly see jail time because he shot Grant. She advises Ridge again to keep quiet, since the police might not believe it was an accident when they find out how he dumped Shane's body in the bay. She asks Ridge if there is anything else she should know, so he tells her that he didn't shoot Grant Chambers!

Bridget preps Taylor for the procedure.
At the hospital, Taylor tells Bridget about Nick's arrest. Bridget assures Taylor that Nick will be released on bail soon, so this will be cleared up in no time. She then asks Taylor if she's still ready to do the procedure with Nick under arrest. Taylor explains that Nick insisted that she keep the appointment tonight, so she came, even though she wishes Nick was here to be a part of it. Confident that Taylor is ready, Bridget fetches Dr. Kimbrough, who explains the implantation procedure in great detail to Taylor. With that formality out of the way, Dr. Kimbrough is ready to begin, but a nurse comes in to tell Dr. Kimbrough that she's needed in maternity to help with a patient going into labor. Taylor asks if this means they have to postpone the procedure; Dr. Kimbrough sees no need, since Bridget has done a number of embryo transfers. She states that Bridget can go ahead with the procedure if Taylor is OK with it. Knowing how much Nick wants this child, Taylor tells Bridget to go ahead in the hopes that they'll have some good news for Nick tonight.

Nick gets booked.
As some love song with the lyric "If You Were Here Tonight" plays, the scenes shift between the hospital and the police station. At the station, Nick reluctantly gives up his wedding band before proceeding to the booking area, where he is fingerprinted and photographed. In the hospital, Bridget moves forward with the procedure as Taylor looks at ultrasound photos of her reproductive areas taken as part of the process.

Taylor frets about Nick's fate to a reassuring Bridget.
After Nick is processed, he returns to the waiting room, where Storm waits for him. Storm returns to their earlier conversation and asks Nick to consider how the Forresters could have framed him. Nick doesn't think Ridge could kill anyone, although he thinks Stephanie could have. He tells Storm that they're onto something here, and they need to find out what Stephanie is up to. Lt. Baker comes in and tells Nick and Storm that he couldn't find a judge at this late hour to conduct Nick's bail hearing, so Nick will have to spend the night in jail. Storm reminds Baker that Nick is entitled to a phone call, so he asks if Nick can call his wife. Lt. Baker tells him to go ahead but make it quick. Nick then calls Taylor's cell phone. In her hospital room, Taylor asks Bridget to hand her the cell phone (even though cell phones are usually banned in patients' hospital rooms). Taylor answer the phone and asks Nick when he's coming, Nick breaks the news that he'll be staying in jail overnight and asks how the implantation went. Taylor tells him how Bridget did the procedure and is even driving her home. She asks Nick if he's OK. He says he is. When Lt. Baker comes by, Nick tells Taylor he loves her and ends the call.

While Nick settles in to his cell, aka "home sweet home" for the night, Taylor tells Bridget about Nick's call. Taylor stresses out that her husband is stuck in jail overnight and asks why this is happening. Bridget tells her to calm down for the baby's sake. She hands Taylor the ultrasound photo from the procedure as a reminder of what's at stake.

Stephanie tells Ridge not to have any sympathy for Nick.
Stephanie is stunned as Ridge explains that he told everyone he shot Grant to protect young Rick, who was the actual shooter. Ridge tells his mother that Rick doesn't remember shooting Grant, and that's how he wants it to stay, even if it means facing the repercussions of that decision now. Stephanie concedes that there is no point revealing the truth about Grant's shooting now and is just glad to know that Ridge never shot anyone. Even so, Ridge is having a hard time mum about this. Stephanie tells him not to fret about Nick, who has done so much to hurt their family. She refuses to let Ridge give up his life for that son of a bitch Nick by doing something foolish. Ridge reminds her that he stood by and let Lt. Baker accuse the wrong man, and Nick is now at the police station as a result. And that's why he needs to keep quiet, Stephanie states. She reminds Ridge that he didn't plant any evidence against Nick, so the police drew their conclusions on their own. Moreover, she thinks Nick deserve this after bringing their family to its knees, just to get revenge on her for what he thinks she did to his clumsy mother. So why should they care about what happens to him. She declares, "If he gets off, then so be it. But if he doesn't, let him rot in prison!" She reminds Ridge that Nick is no altar boy, even if he didn't kill Shane, so she doesn't think either of them should have any sympathy for Nick. "What goes around comes around," she states, adding that Nick deserves to have something "come around" his way.
