Dr. Caron tries to calm an angry Bridget.
In the hospital, Bridget freaks out at the news that the lab technicians can't tell her which "Marone" eggs were fertilized by Nick's sperm. She can't understand how this happened with all the fail-safes in place. The female lab tech admits that she was a bit spaced out from allergy medication she was taking that night. Bridget lashes out at the tech for making such a mistake in a business where people's lives depend on them. Dr. Caron tries to cool things down, so Bridget collects herself and asks the two techs to step through the events of that night after she asked for the Marone donor eggs. The male lab tech recalls that she only asked for the "Marone" eggs and doesn't recall her qualifying that she wanted the harvested donor eggs. Dr. Caron asks Bridget if she spelled out that she wanted the donor eggs and not the frozen eggs from the storage facility. Bridget isn't sure, but the male tech stands firm that she didn't. Bridget turns to the techs and seethes that they still made an assumption without verifying. She also wanted to know why the donor eggs were labeled Marone. Dr. Caron reminds her that the donors remain anonymous. Bridget still thinks the techs should have verified and isn't buying their line that they were just "doing our jobs." Seeing how tense Bridget is, Dr. Caron sends the techs off. She then tells Bridget that she can't get panicked over this. She suggests that Bridget go home to cool down while they both think this through and see if there's anything they missed. Bridget doesn't see that happening, because an embryo was created from her mother's eggs and it's all her fault!

Rick worries about his sister.
Bridget goes home to her beach house. As she walks in the door, she flashes back to her learning that she may have implanted her mother's eggs in Taylor. Frustrated, she sits down on the couch and zones out. Rick comes home and finds his sister sitting on the couch, staring into space, so he calls out to her. When Bridget finally answers, she says she's fine, but Rick can see that she isn't and demands that she tell him what's going on. Bridget reluctantly tells him that she was part of a serious mix-up at the hospital after the lab techs made a mistake. Rick asks if anyone died; when Bridget says that nobody died, Rick is relieved, but Bridget still frets that her blunder ruined people's lives. Rick tries to get more details from his sister, but she asks him to please leave her alone. Sensing how upset Bridget is, Rick assures her that she's a great doctor. He guesses from her tired look that she hasn't had much sleep lately and she probably hasn't eaten, so he suggests that she just relax here and eat something. Bridget doesn't want to eat, but Rick insists. Since they don't have any food in the house, he goes to get some take-out. Alone in the house, Bridget flashes back to the day Brooke's eggs were harvested, then to the day she implanted the eggs and finally to the day of the ultrasound. Wracked with guilt over what she thinks she did, she collapses to the floor! Soon after, Rick returns and panics when he sees Bridget lying unconscious on the floor.

Jackie tells Nick what Brooke went through to free him.
At Forrester Creations, Jackie finds Nick hard at work. She suggests he go home to be with his wife instead, especially after all the time he and Taylor were separated while he was in jail. Nick says that he's headed home as soon as he finds some work he needs to take home with him, but he quips that jail life wasn't so bad. Jackie tells him to stop joking, but Nick says that he has to joke when he thinks about what happened and changes the subject to his maternity line. He wants the new line out by spring at the latest. Jackie points out that Taylor will have given birth by then and starts thinking of all the things Taylor has to look forward to. Like "praying to the porcelain god?" Nick asks. Jackie is sorry Taylor has morning sickness but is glad to see Nick joking again. She admits that she worried about how dour his mood was when he was arrested, and she's just grateful for all Brooke endured to free him. Nick asks what she means, so Jackie tells him how Stephanie nearly strangled Brooke and then dragged Brooke to Big Bear, all in order to silence Brooke about what Ridge had done. She's just glad that Stephanie's precious little boy is the one in jail now. Nick is astonished at the lengths Stephanie would go to. Jackie agrees that it was brave of Brooke to do so much, especially since it meant sending a man she shared history with like Ridge to prison to save Nick.

Taylor has some questions for Brooke.
At the Marone mansion, Brooke takes a call from Stephanie, who wants to know if Brooke decided about telling Rick the truth about Grant's shooting. Brooke explains that she and Taylor are still deciding and hangs up. Taylor asks if Stephanie is still anxious. Brooke thinks Stephanie is upset that she's not in control here. Getting back to the issue with Rick, Taylor again raises her concerns that making Rick remember that he shot Grant Chambers could have serious repercussions, especially since Rick was so traumatized after the shooting that he blocked the memories from his mind. However, even with her concerns, she agrees to work with Rick, for the sake of her children with Ridge. Brooke points out that she is doing this for her son with Ridge, too. She recalls how Ridge did Rick a favor by taking the blame for shooting Grant, so she thinks it's right that Rick returns the favor. Taylor wonders if Brooke's support of Ridge is about more than just R.J. and Rick. Brooke doesn't like what she thinks Taylor is implying and wonders if Taylor is thinking that a reunion with Ridge would mean that she [Brooke] won't be chasing Nick anymore. She assures Taylor that she has no intention of chasing Nick anymore. Brooke admits that she still has feelings for Nick, but any hope of a future for her and Nick went away once Taylor got pregnant. She promises never to break up an innocent child's family again, and she's sure Taylor would also never do that, either.

Nick thanks Brooke for intervening for him.
After another bout with morning sickness, Taylor goes upstairs again, so Brooke is alone in the living room when Nick returns home. Nick is sorry to hear that the crackers didn't help his wife. Nick doesn't want to sound rude, but he wonders why Brooke is there. She explains that she came over to talk about Ridge's situation with Taylor and tells Nick that what Stephanie and Ridge did to him was wrong. Nick agrees, but he wants to talk about what Stephanie did to her. He suggests that she file charges against Stephanie, but Brooke thinks the only things that matters are that she got Ridge to come forward and that Nick is now free. Nick thanks her for intervening for him, since he can see where she might have just wanted to walk away. She says she could never do that.

Brooke wishes Nick all the happiness in the world.
Nick says he owes her now, but Brooke says he doesn't owe her anything. She asserts that she just needs to distance herself from him and Taylor for now, because she wants the two of them to be happy. Brooke recalls a time when she and Nick were happy. Nick agrees that they were happy, but Brooke can't help but lament that she threw all that way. She supposes she'll just have to learn to live with her mistake. Nick assures her that she's a beautiful woman with so much love to give, which is why he'll always want the best for her. Brooke thanks him, but tells him to focus on the beautiful baby his wife is carrying. "I wish you all the happiness in the world," she whispers as they warmly embrace.
