Rick begs Phoebe to forgive him.
In the lab at Forrester Originals, Phoebe urges Rick to tell her who the other woman in his life is. Rick tries to duck the question, but Phoebe remains adamant on knowing if there was someone else. Rick reluctantly admits that there was someone else during the time he and Phoebe had broken up. He explains that he really thought it was over for them, but he wouldn't call what he had with this other woman an affair, and he swears that he never stopped loving Phoebe. He begs Phoebe to believe him and forgive him. Phoebe asks why he didn't say anything before. He reminds her how he rushed back to town as soon as he heard that her father confessed to being involved in Shane's death, and they were both going through so much that he didn't think it was right to say anything then. Phoebe asks if he ever intended to tell her. Rick isn't sure. All he knows is that he kept quiet to protect her, because he thought that was what she needed. He pleads for her to remember how happy they were and to tell him what he needs to do to regain her trust, because he doesn't want things to be over between them. Phoebe says she doesn't want that, either, but she needs to know that what happened with this other woman was only one time. It was, Rick swears, and it's over now. He wants to put all their problems behind them and focus on the future, because she's all that's good in his life, and he swears that he's 100% devoted to her. "Pinkie swear?" Phoebe asks. Rick agrees to "pinky swear" and they exchange "I love yous."

Taylor gets help dealing with her morning sickness.
At Brooke's house, Taylor insists that she's secure in her marriage to Nick. Brooke asks what will happen if Taylor is less secure in the future; she fears she won't be comfortable working with Nick if problems arise. Taylor tells Brooke to turn down the job offer if she's not comfortable with it; she doesn't want to be the one standing in the way of Brooke accepting the offer. She can't guarantee that there won't be bumps in the road, but she thinks that she and Brooke can get along. Just then, Taylor gets an intense attack of morning sickness. As Nick and Brooke help Taylor sit down, Taylor laments that she was never this sick with her other kids. Brooke notes that she had the worst cases of morning sickness with all four of her kids, so she has some tips to help Taylor lie down. She tells Taylor to lie back, take deep breaths and focus on blue things, like the sky or the ocean. She then shows Taylor a pressure point on the wrist that helps relieve the nausea. Taylor tries all these things together and says that they help her feel better. Nick especially likes the [art about focusing on blue, since he thinks it's a sign that his boy will be a sailor. Taylor laughs at that, telling Brooke how Nick insists that the baby is a boy. Brooke says men are always like that, which is why it's always cute to see how closely fathers bond with their daughters. Taylor agrees, since Ridge always doted on the twins. Nick scoffs at the notion until Brooke reminds him how many sailor hats he gave Hope. Feeling better, Taylor gets up and turns to leave so Brooke and Nick can get back to their business.

Nick suggests to Brooke that they move forward.
Nick asks Taylor if she's sure she's OK. She says she is. She then thanks Brooke for the advice and points out how that suggests that Brooke might be useful around here, so she hopes Brooke will sign the contract Nick has. Brooke asks Taylor if she's sure. "I don't have a seed of doubt in my mind," Taylor says as she leaves. Nick tells Brooke that his wife is right; he agrees that Brooke can make a difference, so he suggests that they get this over with. Brooke however wonders if she might be torturing herself to be around him so much while Taylor is pregnant. Nick tells Brooke that he still feels all the old emotions and memories when he sees her walk into a room, because those feelings never go away. So rather than fight that feeling, he thinks they should find a way to deal with it by charting a new course and moving forward as friends.
Brooke weighs the pros and cons of Nick's offer.
Brooke tells Nick that they already changed course once after they found out that Taylor was pregnant, and she doesn't think they can change that connection, even if they want to. She reminds Nick that this is a special time for him and Taylor, with the baby on the way. Nick thinks he can adjust to fatherhood after running two companies and overseeing thousands of employees, but Brooke isn't sure if she wants to be around to witness him and Taylor becoming parents. Nick tells Brooke to admit that things are tough for her now because she's alone and has no one to help her deal with this. Brooke reminds him that she was always the man she could turn to, and she loved his being that man. In fact, every time she thinks about the song he wrote for her, "Going Back Again," she thinks about what the song meant to her. As the song plays in the background, Brooke remembers all the good times she spent with Nick. She tells him how that song made her believe that there would always be hope for the two of them. Nick tells her that there is hope for them, even if it's not the future they originally planned. But it can still be good for all of them. He takes the contract he drew up out of the envelope. Brooke signs it. She then tells him that she'll always respect his relationship with the mother of his child. She then adds, "Don't take this the wrong way, but something is telling me in my heart that you and I aren't over."

Bridget wants answers from Carl.
At the beach house, Bridget is still on the phone with lab custodian Carl, who tells her that he's always in the lab and sees everything, even if no one notices. That's how he knows about the investigation about the Marone donor eggs. He suggests that the suits upstairs are too busy trying to protect themselves, but he thinks everyone would be better served if they just asked him what really happened the night of Taylor's IVF procedure. Bridget asks if he's saying the doctors are lying. Carl doesn't want to accuse anyone of anything, but he knows what he saw. Bridget asks what he saw with the eggs. Before Carl can answer, a pair of lab techs come in to give him a hard time about how clean the test tubes are. Carl tells Bridget that he'll be in touch and hangs up. Anxious to learn what Carl saw, Bridget pulls her feet out of the foot bath and rushes over to the hospital, where she finds the lab techs still giving Carl a hard time. Seeing the doctor, the techs apologize for any stress they might have caused over the Marone eggs. Bridget thanks them. One of the techs invites Bridget to join them for coffee, but she says she needs to ask Carl something first. Once the techs leave, Carl asks Bridget why she came when he told her he'd call back. Bridget tells him that she couldn't wait; she wants to know right now what he knows about the eggs that were implanted in Taylor Marone.

Carl tells Bridget that he can tell her what she wants to know.
Carl thanks Bridget for the respect she's always paid him and the custodial staff, since everyone else treats them like idiots. He points out how the maintenance staff keeps this hospital running, but no one recognizes that. Bridget tells Carl that she appreciates his work, but right now she wants to know what he observed about the Marone eggs. Carl explains that the whole problem started when the records department failed to update her mom's file, since that's what led to two petri dishes labeled "Marone" in the fertility lab. Bridget points out that the mistake was Dr. Caron's, since Dr. Caron forgot to update her mom's file. But Dr. Caron won't admit that, Carl points out. Bridget points out that the hospital staff already conducted an investigation. Carl asks Bridget who she wants to believe, the suits upstairs, or the guy down here in the trenches. Bridget says she needs to know if her mom's eggs were implanted in Taylor. Carl points out that she said the suits already gave her an answer, but she wants to know if there's a reason not to believe that. Carl points out that there were too many "cooks" in the "kitchen" that night, so things were nuts. Bridget blames herself, but Carl says he's to blame, since he should have spoken out sooner. Bridget asks Carl why he called her. "I called to help you," he replies. "Then do it and answer my questions!" Bridget insists. Carl says that he can tell her what she wants to know, and he can tell her who the mother of the baby inside Taylor Marone is.
