Ashley wonders if Brooke is fishing.

Ashley is in the lab, leaving a phone message for someone. As Ashley ends the message with "Au revoir," Brooke comes in. Ashley explains she was leaving a message for someone she worked with in Paris and asks Brooke what brings her by. Brooke explains that she wants to talk about Ridge; she knows Ashley and Ridge were getting close before Ridge confessed, so she wonders how Ashley would feel if Ridge gets off on probation. Ashley doesn't see that happening, since Ridge did allow Nick to take the blame, but Brooke points out that Stephanie was behind that and vows to do whatever she must so Ridge can avoid prison. Ashley is again confused by this crazy family, since she can't understand why Brooke is defending a man she broke up with, not to mention a man who punched Brooke's son. Brooke argues that what happened with Rick was different. Obviously, Ashley agrees, since hitting Rick didn't get Ridge charged with first degree murder. Brooke says it's complicated. It must be, Ashley states, if Ridge's ex is trying to clear him or murder and set him up on a date in the same day. She asks Brooke to level with her, since she suspects Brooke is fishing - and the only reason she can see for Brooke to ask these things is if Brooke wants to go after Ridge again.

Brooke recalls her relationship with Nick.

Brooke insists that she just cares about Ridge as a friend. Ashley points out that Ridge is just a friend to her, too, and she doesn't think anything she and Ridge shared could ever compare to what Brooke and Ridge shared. And since she knows Brooke's relationship with Nick is over, Ashley can't help but wonder if Ridge is Brooke's back-up plan to make sure she has a man in her life. "Don't believe everything you hear about Ridge and me," Brooke advises Ashley. And what about Nick? Ashley asks. Brooke explains that any hopes she had about being with Nick ended once Taylor got pregnant, since Nick would never abandon the mother of his child. Ashley admits she doesn't really know much about Brooke and Nick's relationship. As she flashes back to good times and bad times with Nick, Brooke asserts that their relationship was incredible, despite the issues they had. As she sings Nick's praises, she tells Ashley, "Even through some of the worst times, there was a thread that always bound us together - until now." Ashley asks if it's really over with Nick, since it sounds like they got back together before, Brooke doesn't think so, because of Nick's child. She explains that Nick asked her to have a baby and she turned him down, so now she feels like the baby Taylor is carrying is as significant to her life as it is to Taylor's.

Rick is suspicious of Constantine's interest in Phoebe.

In Constantine's studio/loft, Rick calls the musician on the carpet for having his hands all over Phoebe. Phoebe and Constantine both insist that Constantine was just giving her advice on her music. "He can make things happen for us," Phoebe tells Rick, who doubts what Constantine wants to make happen includes him. Constantine argues that this is the first time Rick has shown up here. "I'm here now!" Rick fumes, but Constantine actually wants him out right now if this is the way Rick's going to talk to him. Phoebe tells Rick to calm down and assures him that Constantine is just a friend. She also agrees with Constantine that Rick has always been too busy to come down here with her, which is why she came herself. And then last night, she was so stressed about her dad that she fell asleep on the couch. Rick asks Phoebe why she didn't call him. Constantine says she did, but Rick didn't answer. Rick argues that he was with his sister, not that it's any of Constantine's business, just like Phoebe isn't the rocker's business, either. Constantine states that Phoebe will be his business if she signs with his record label. Rick insists that Phoebe doesn't need a new career, but Constantine disagrees. Rick's had enough and motions to Phoebe that they should leave. Constantine tells Phoebe to come back anytime but warns Rick to stay away. Phoebe tells him that Rick is just loyal. Constantine asks if she's sure. "There's not a doubt in my mind," she replies.

Phoebe wonders if Rick trusts her.

After Rick and Phoebe leave, Constantine sees Rick left his PDA there. When an alert beeps for an urgent message, Constantine plays the message and hears a sexy voice [it's Ashley's message she left earlier] telling Rick to call about last night and bidding him au revoir. Constantine recalls that Rick claimed to be with his sister last night, but he doesn't think that sounded like Rick's sister. Meanwhile, Rick and Phoebe keep arguing about Constantine as they get in the car. After Phoebe asks Rick if she trusts him, he finally believes that Phoebe has no romantic intentions toward Constantine, but he thinks she's being naive again by trusting the singer. Phoebe thinks Constantine is a good friend who can help with her music, but she insists that Rick is the guy she loves. Rick still worries that Constantine wants more than just friendship.

Constantine is intrigued by what he hears on Rick's voice mail.

Phoebe suggests that they get something to eat, but Rick realizes that his PDA is missing and guesses he left it in the loft. Phoebe offers to get it, but Rick says he'll do it. When he gets up to the loft, he looks around. "Forget something?" Constantine asks. Spotting the PDA, Rick says he has it. He then warns Constantine not to hurt Phoebe; Constantine doesn't think he'll be the one hurting Phoebe. After Rick leaves, Constantine remembers Phoebe's parting comments about Rick and thinks Phoebe would share his doubts about Rick if she heard the message on the PDA. He then plays back a copy of the message he made before Rick came back for the PDA. Down in the car, Phoebe assures Rick that even when they have problems, she's committed to him, and she knows he would never hurt her.

Bridget struggles about telling Taylor the truth.

In Bridget's office, Taylor wonders why Bridget is getting so emotional. Bridget says it's because she admires Taylor as a mentor and a friend, which is why she has something important to tell Taylor. Before she can say anything, Dr. Caron comes in and asks to see Bridget. Excusing themselves with Taylor, the two doctors go to an exam room, where Dr. Caron (whose first name is Marcia) tears into Bridget for even thinking of telling Taylor about the confusion over the donor eggs. Bridget thinks Taylor has to be warned, but Dr. Caron insists that they should not tell Taylor anything unless they're 100% sure that Brooke's eggs were implanted.

Dr. Caron tells Bridget to do the responsible thing.

Nick passes by and sees the two doctors, so he asks if they've seen Taylor. Bridget sends Nick to her office where Taylor is waiting. The two women then continue their argument about Taylor and the fertilized eggs. Neither one of them is willing to give on their position on whether Taylor should be told. Dr. Caron tells Bridget to do the responsible thing, and also to consider all the protocols in place around these procedures. She thinks they should let the investigation takes it's course and insists that Bridget not say anything until the investigation concludes.
