Donna tells Nick about Brooke's invitation.
|
At Forrester Creations, Donna plays a message from Brooke on her cell phone for Nick. Brooke's message asks Donna to come by the Forresters' new offices before their new company's launch. Donna asks if she should go. Nick asks where her loyalties lie; Donna says she support shim. Nick warns that her sister might not like her working for the competition. Donna tells Nick that she hates what the Forresters did to her parents, to his mother and to Brooke, so she can't stand by waiting for them to hurt Brooke again. Nick reminds her that he tried to protect Brooke and lost her. Donna tells him that she finally sees what Brooke saw in him.
Ridge comes in and ribs Donna about her not having too much sense, since she's working for this fool. Donna retorts that she didn't have any other offers - not that she's work for someone who almost killed and then humiliated Jackie. "It's nice to be reminded what your family's made of," she hisses as she leaves. Nick asks Ridge why he isn't preparing to launch the Titanic. Ridge quips that Nick's ship is the one that's doomed. he then drops the wedding gift Nick brought Taylor on Nick's desk; as something inside shatters, Ridge warns that Forrester Creations is the last thing from his family that Nick will ever touch. Nick asserts that a frightened little girl stopped that wedding, not him. Ridge says that Alexandria loves Taylor, but Nick claims that the marriage would have been a farce that Ridge should have stopped to begin with. Ridge doesn't like Nick's tone, but Nick points out that this is his office. Nick may have this building, Ridge says, but he'll never have what was in it. He suggests Nick enjoy his time here, since he'll soon be putting this place up for rent. Nick predicts that Ridge's new venture will be over tomorrow, so he tells Ridge, "Go home, make a dress. You'll feel better."
Over at the Forresters' new company, Taylor and Pamela have joined Eric, Thorne, Felicia and Brooke for the debut of their new company. They are glad to see a record number of reporters in their showroom. Eric asks Thorne how Aly is. Thorne says she's OK after they talked last night about what she did to Taylor's dress. Pam is sure Aly will come around. In the meantime, Eric is glad Thorne is here. Felicia agrees, since they're making history. Brooke and Eric both like the sound of that. Thorne tells Eric that Arthur Harrison and Harvey Golden are in the showroom, and Lauren Fenmore made it, too. Eric's glad Lauren is there, since he's sure their old friend will be pleased with what they have. He says that Nick may have their company, but today they start a new one. Thorne agrees.

Taylor gets upset at Thorne and his family always blaming Nick.
|
Felicia is upset when she sees Donna come in, but Brooke says she invited her sister. While Brooke talks to Donna, Felicia confides in Taylor that she can't believe Donna had the nerve to show up, since Donna's claim about Stephanie in part cost them their company. Taylor points out that Donna is Brooke's sister, but Felicia thinks Nick is just using Donna for revenge. Taylor reminds Felicia what this family did to Jackie. After Thorne sticks up for his sister, Taylor fumes that she's had it with hearing that this family is always right and Nick is always wrong, so she goes to the showroom. Meanwhile, Donna admits she was surprised to get Brooke's invitation, and she guesses the Forresters are surprised, too. Brooke thinks they have a right to be wary of anyone working for Nick, but Donna thinks the only one Brooke should be wary of is Stephanie. Brooke points out that Stephanie has accepted her and Ridge, so she doesn't want to talk about that. She explains that she asked Donna here to offer her a job working for the Forresters. Donna admits she doesn't relish competing with her sister, but she signed a contract with Nick, one that their brother Storm drew up as Nick's legal counsel. Ridge comes over and says it'll take more than legal counsel to protect Nick, asking Donna if she's spying for Popeye. Brooke tells him that she invited Donna to offer her a job; when Ridge asks why he'd want someone who helped Nick here, Donna thinks Ridge just proved her point. As Ridge goes to change, Brooke invites a reluctant Donna to watch the showing, hoping it will change Donna's mind. Donna wishes her sister luck.
Eric meets with his lawyer, Eli, to sign the papers naming his new company. Eli warns that Nick might sue, but Eric says that Forrester is still is name, and Nick can go to hell if he doesn't like it.

Clarke and Nick wonder what the Forresters have planned.
|
Meanwhile, Storm brings the press release announcing the Forresters' new company to Forrester Creations. He's bothered that the release doesn't reveal the company's name. Nick says he has the Forrester name, but his designs don't match those of the Forresters. Clarke asks Nick why he hired him if he feels that way. Nick states that Clarke learned some tricks from Sally. Jackie points out they have they established brand while the Forresters are starting from scratch. Storm agrees, pointing out that Sally's tactics can only cause trouble. Then they wait to see what they must do to win, Nick states. They turn on the TV to watch the Forresters' debut.

The Forresters take to the runway to introduce their new company.
|
Backstage, Felicia tells Brooke to get ready, while Ridge tells Eric and Thorne that he has a surprise planned for today. Thorne doesn't think Ridge can match his last runway surprise. "Just watch me," Ridge boasts. Felicia returns and joins Eric, Thorne and Ridge as the head out onto the runway. In the showroom, Donna stands in the back while Taylor and Phoebe, Lauren, and reporters Jarrett and Danica sit in the audience and applaud. Eric thanks everyone for coming for his family's return to the fashion world. He tells the crowd that he and his family are pleased to redefine themselves as the country's premier fashion house, which is why proudly introduces them to Forrester Originals! Over at Forrester Creations, Jackie, Clarke and Storm all fume at the new name, which clearly violates the Forresters' agreement by using "Forrester" in the name. As if in response, Eric tells the crowd that Nick Marone may have his old company and its history, but he and his family are, and always will be, Forresters. That's what will make this new company a success, more exclusive and elegant than ever! Ridge adds that they will uphold the standard of quality everyone has come to expect from them, so their clients should not be fooled by the crusty old sailor and his rags. He promises that Forrester Originals will always stand for quality.
Back at Forrester Creations, Storm goes to start the lawsuit against the Forresters, but Nick bets that is what the Forresters want them to do. Clarke agrees that it will create free publicity for the Forresters. Nick asks Jackie who Eric and Ridge will get to sell their exclusive gowns. Jackie answers that they'll want high-end distributors like Harrison's or Fenmore's, age old relationships that the Forresters depend on. Nick suggests that it's time to test those relationships.

Brooke accepts Ridge's proposal.
|
On stage, Eric says that the same people who helped make his old company a powerhouse in haute couture will do the same for them now, including the person he's about to introduce: Brooke Logan, the ultimate Forrester original! The curtain comes up and Brooke takes to the runway, showing off one of the new exclusive gowns. Ridge asks the crowd if they have ever seen such a beautiful sight, since Brooke Logan is the embodiment of a Forrester original, a bold and beautiful masterpiece (nice nod to the show's title) who is unforgettable. He adds that when you know you have the best, it's very smart to never let her go. He then gets on bended knee and tells Brooke, "Logan, if I could have just one wish, it would be that you would be my wife until the day I die. We've been blessed with beautiful children. The best days are still ahead of us. Our marriage will flourish as will our new company. Oh hell, you know the drill." In front of the crowd and the cameras, Brooke answers, "Yes! Of course, I'll marry you," as everyone applauds.

Jackie asks Nick if he's OK.
|
At Forrester Creations, Clarke is amazed at the presentation the Forresters put on and declares that their own designs could get wiped out. Jackie sees Nick is silent and asks if he's OK. Nick sees what he has to do. He sees that the Forresters have narrowed themselves to selling through select high end boutiques - Fenmore, Jackie M, St. Julienne, Harrison's. He vows to own all of those by the time the Forrester designs ship (although I don't know how he hopes to convince Lauren Fenmore, who has always been loyal to Eric, to sell). Then he'll corner the market, which will create a bust of biblical proportions when the Forresters have no outlets to service their clients. He vows, "That family will be crawling on their knees, with no one to turn to but me."
