A stunned Felicia learns that her mother canceled Christmas.
Felicia stops by the Forrester mansion to put Dino's gifts under the Christmas tree and is shocked to see that there is no tree. When Stephanie explains that that she gave the tree to the homeless shelter, Felicia thinks her mom is having some weird reaction to her medication. Stephanie sits Felicia down and explains that she's fine; it's just that she doesn't have it in her to do all the work that the holiday entails. Felicia protests, but Stephanie argues that this is what happens when you get shot and your husband walks out on you. Felicia is sure that Eric will come if Stephanie asks, but Stephanie refuses to be a Christmas charity case and have Eric or anyone else come out of obligation. Felicia thinks her mother sounds like Sally. Stephanie laughs that Sally is too busy hanging out with the beach boys in Saint Tropez to be home for Christmas, and she thinks Sally might have the right idea. Felicia still can't accept her mother's decision and wants to have Christmas here, even if it's just the two of them and Dino. Stephanie tells Felicia to forget about her and celebrate with Ridge, but Felicia has no desire to spend Christmas with Brooke and the Logans. Stephanie offers to fly her to Florida to spend the day with Kristen, but Felicia would rather kiss Donna under the mistletoe than fly on Christmas. Stephanie frankly doesn't care what Felicia does, but she's done celebrating Christmas. "I just want to be alone," she bemoans.

Stephanie pays Stephen a visit.
Later, Stephanie drops by the jailhouse to see Stephen, who's surprised to see La Forrester at this late hour. Stephanie explains that she thought he'd be able to cheer her up, and she admits that she feels better already seeing that the man who shot her is even worse off than she is. Stephen gets up and tells the guard that he wants to go back to his cell, but Stephanie asks him to wait and hear her out, because she has an offer for him. Stephen retorts that she has nothing that he wants, but she thinks he has a Christmas wish list like everyone else. She tells him that her own wish list is very short, because the only thing she wants for Christmas is his confession! Stephen thinks she's crazy and accuses her of making this offer to keep what she did to Brooke under wraps. "Things that are private should remain private," Stephanie professes. Stephen laughs that she's trying to protect her precious reputation as usual, but Stephanie alludes that they'd also be protecting his children from scandal and implies that he's just looking after his own hide instead of his children's by turning her down.

Stephen turns down Stephanie's offer.
Stephanie says that she'll ask the D.A. to make a plea bargain if Stephen confesses, but Stephen refuses to confess to a crime he didn't commit. Stephanie reminds him that the evidence points to him, but Stephen professes his trust in his children to find the real shooter. Stephanie scoffs, but Stephen takes that as jealousy that his family has rallied around him. He admits that he doesn't deserve his kids' support after he left them years ago, but he's grateful to have that support, especially from his son Storm who's defending him. Stephanie says that the case is open and shut, but Stephen is confident that Storm can get him off. Stephanie asks if he really trusts a son who grew up hating him. "I trust him a hell of a lot more than I trust you," Stephen counters. Stephanie tells Stephen that his history with his family will come out in a trial. Stephen retorts that he wonders if Stephanie's kids would stand by her the way his are supporting him if they find out what she did to Brooke. Stephanie warns that this is a one time only offer, but Stephen still refuses to accept. Stephanie then threatens to make sure that he gets put in the worst penitentiary in the state when he's convicted. Saying that makes her feel better, so she bids Stephen goodbye and wishes him a Merry Christmas.

Brooke begs Storm to tell her if he set their dad up.
While Katie looks on, Brooke begs Storm to tell her if he framed their dad for Stephanie's shooting. Katie asks Brooke not to ask Storm these questions, but Brooke thinks they need to be asked, because she has to know if Storm hates their father enough to frame him. Storm rants that he has good reason to hate their dad, since Stephen blamed him for not protecting Brooke after she was raped. He fumes that the man who abandoned them could be so arrogant as to waltz back into their lives and ask that. Katie agrees and assures Storm that they all know how much he cares. "I do care," Storm proclaims, muttering that he felt like he was losing his sisters to their dad, and he couldn't let that happen. "That's why I did it," he confesses as he crumbles to the sofa and repeats, "I did it." Brooke and Katie attest that they know Storm wasn't thinking clearly. He tells them that he was furious with Stephanie for what she did to Brooke and to Donna, and he felt like she wasn't going to pay for it. There was no accountability, just like with their dad. Brooke and Katie are both devastated listening to their brother.

Katie begs Storm to tell her that he's making this up.
Katie recalls how angry Stephen was with Stephanie. And all their dad's threats made it so easy, Storm explains, recounting how the shooting took place. He heard Eric tell Stephanie to wait in the showroom, so he went to get the gun from Brooke's desk and positioned Jake's camera in the showroom to start taping. He then watched while first Brooke and then Donna confronted Stephanie, waiting backstage for his chance. Once Donna left the showroom, Storm then put on his class ring, which looked just like his dad's, and fired the gun. "I never meant to kill her," he assures them. Katie asks how he knew Jake would show her the footage; Storm says that he didn't, but he figured Jake would eventually view the video and show it to the police. It was supposed to be the perfect crime, he sobs, but it isn't now that his sisters know. Katie begs Storm to tell her that he's making this up as part of their dad's defense, especially since he has an alibi. That was part of the plan, Storm explains; while waiting backstage, he called the police and spoke to Charlie Baker about a restraining order against Stephanie. Once he was ready to fire the gun, he told Charlie to hang on and muted his phone so he could fire the gun at Stephanie. He then left the showroom after firing the bullet, because he knew people would come running once they head the gunshot.

Storm asks his sisters not to send him to jail.
Brooke reminds Storm that his set-up could have landed any of them in jail. Storm promises that all the evidence pointed to their dad, and the way their dad got so stressed out when confronted by the police helped. "I wouldn't do it again," he declares, "but what can I do? It's done." Brooke and Katie remind him that their dad is innocent of the crime he's been charged with; "Dad may not have shot Stephanie, but he's not innocent," Storm responds, suggesting that their dad deserves to be in jail for the way he barged back into their lives and tried to take charge. He thinks this is a fitting punishment for the man who didn't have the guts to stick around and face his problems with his family years ago. "But he doesn't deserve it," Brooke argues, furious that her attorney brother could abuse the law he loves so much to get revenge. She tells Storm that they need to decide what to do next, starting with getting their dad out of jail. Storm disagrees; he points out that the evidence is all circumstantial and he did everything by the book, so he thinks their dad has a good chance of being acquitted. Brooke asks if he hears himself justifying his framing their father for a crime he didn't commit. Storm insists that he did it to protect his sisters, just as he did so many times over the years. That's why he needs Brooke and Katie to keep mum about what he did. "I earned your loyalty," Storm states, "and now it's time for you to return the favor and protect me." He sighs, "I'll do my best to protect Dad, but please don't send me to jail."
