Brooke tells Bridget to be honest with her.
At Bridget's beach house, Brooke laments that she and Bridget never talked about Bridget's feelings for Nick. She knows Bridget tried, because Bridget was, and still is, the braver of the two of them. Maybe, Bridget says, but maybe not. Brooke admits it was hard to hear that Bridget wanted her marriage to fail. Bridget says she just wants to be honest. Brooke says that she wants Bridget to find the happiness she deserves; the problem is that Nick can never make Bridget happy enough, because he's married to her, and she knows Bridget would never undermine her marriage. That's why she's wondering what Bridget is trying to tell her - or trying NOT to tell her - since she'll find out eventually. And even if what Bridget has to say makes her angry, it won't make her jealous, because she's not worried about her and Nick. That's why she hopes Bridget can just open up to her. Bridget tries to find the words. She says she can handle anything but her mom being done with her. Brooke tries to guess what Bridget did, but Bridget said she swore not to say anything. "You swore to Nick?" Brooke asks. When Bridget nods, Brooke guesses that Bridget told Nick how she felt, and that she told him that Brooke could never make him as happy as she could. Bridget replies that it was something like that. "Did you really think he would leave me and fall into your arms?" a stunned Brooke asks. She thought Bridget knew her better than that. Bridget says that she knows that now.

Nick hopes he's not interrupting.
Just then, Nick comes in and asks if this is a bad time. Brooke tells him to come right in, because Bridget has told her everything. Maybe that's for the best, Nick says. Realizing that Nick thinks that she told Brooke about her and Nick sleeping together, Bridget shakes her head and tells Nick that there's nothing for him to say, because she already told her mom how she feels about him. Obviously, she was wrong, and now that she's been humiliated by coming clean about her feelings, she sees how strong her mom and Nick's relationship really is, and how weak she is. She's sorry, because she knows it hasn't been easy for her mom to be with Nick. But starting today, she promises, it will be easy. Nick asks Brooke how she feels about that. Brooke tells Bridget that she's sorry she acted so jealous. Bridget says there's nothing to be sorry for, but Brooke disagrees. She knows Bridget just wanted to be honest with her, and she appreciates that. She may not have liked to have heard what she did, but she needed to hear it, because the two people she's here with right now are among the most important in her life. That's why she couldn't bear it if anything came between them. Bridget hugs her mom and says that will never happen; over Brooke's shoulder, she looks at Nick, who shakes his head and says, "never" as Bridget sadly looks at him.

After her mom and Nick leave. Bridget takes the mementos of Nicole and puts them back in the trunk. As she places the blanket and urn back in, she kisses the urn and starts to cry.

Back home, a towel clad Nick comes out of the shower and finds a lingerie clad Brooke waiting for him in bed in a candlelit room. Brooke wishes they had time to leave tonight on a second honeymoon, but they don't, so this will have to do. She wants him to know that she's sorry for what she did to their relationship. She should have respected his feelings. And she shouldn't have rushed off to Ridge at the slightest provocation, since that's what Ridge wanted. As Brooke gets out of bed and faces him, Nick says he's sorry about his temper, and about the demands he makes. Brooke thinks he has every right to. Nick wishes he could say he's wiser from all this, but all he can say is that he's a bit more humble. Brooke loves his pride, since that's who he is, and she doesn't want him to lose that. Nick says he prays every day not to forget how lucky he is to have her in his life, to touch her and hold her. Brooke feels bad for Bridget; she thinks Bridget was right to admit her feelings for Nick, but she thinks Bridget has to make her own happiness, since she can't do that for Bridget. Nick agrees. Brooke tells him that the two of them need to be responsible for their own happiness, by believing in their love and letting everything else slip away. Nick thinks he can do that and leans in to hug and kiss Brooke.

Shane fantasizes about confronting Taylor.
In his tiny room, Shane sits in his bed, fantasizing about telling Taylor that he had been on PCH the night of Darla's death. He was the man who tried to help Phoebe - and scared her, Taylor points out - and after Phoebe rejected his help, he decided to wait in the bushes and watch. That's when he saw Taylor driving the car that hit Darla! Had the police questioned him then, he would have told them that Darla's death was an accident. But now, he thinks Taylor would rather that he didn't come forward - and he thinks he deserves a "reverse reward" of $1,000,000 for keeping what he knows to himself! Coming back to reality, he tells himself that Taylor will have to go for it; he bets she'll never even miss that million bucks given the fancy house she lives in. He then looks at an ad for Taylor's therapy practice and starts to wonder if this is right. After all, blackmail is a crime. But even so, he considers, it's not half as bad as what Taylor and Phoebe did! He looks at the newspaper clipping about Thorne again and says he's sorry to do this to Thorne, but he needs the money more than Thorne needs to know who killed his wife.

Sally and Clarke help Thorne and Ally celebrate the late Darla's birthday.
At Thorne's beach house, Sally and Clarke have joined Taylor to help Thorne and Alexandria celebrate the late Darla's birthday. Phoebe arrives, just in time for the cake. Thorne tells Ally to make a wish; Ally blows out the candles and says that she hopes her wish comes true. Clarke then announces it's time for presents. He brings out a tie-dyed hippie t-shirt that his mother gave him when he was younger; he knows Darla loved tie-dyed shirts, so he hopes Ally will let him put it with the photos and drawings of Darla. Ally nods, so Clarke places the shirt on the table and says, "Happy Birthday, sweetheart." Ally then reveals that she has a present, too; she made a necklace for her mommy in pre-school. But since Mommy can't wear it, she wants Aunt Taylor to have it. Taylor is touched and asks Ally to help her put it on. She then thanks the little girl and gives her a hug.

After Sally and Clarke leave, Taylor changes into a robe and helps Phoebe clean up. Mother and daughter both say that they're getting tired. Phoebe asks Ally about some flowers she saw in the guest room; Ally says she left them for Phoebe, who thinks that's sweet. Ally then offers Aunt Taylor her bed to sleep in, while she sleeps in a sleeping bag. Thorne comes in and watches with Phoebe as Taylor tells Ally that she can stay with Phoebe in the guest room. But Ally insists that Taylor take her bed - because she loves Taylor! She gives a surprised Taylor a hug.

Thorne tells Taylor how he feels.
Later, Taylor goes to the kitchen to get some water and finds Thorne looking out the window at the beach. She's surprised he's still up. He says that he sometimes can't sleep, but he will tonight. He feels both happy and tired, but he doesn't want to let go of the happy part. Tonight, this place felt like a home again, for the first time in a while. Looking at a photo of Darla, he admits that he always feared he'd be upset if he felt happy here again, because he'd feel like it was wrong. But tonight, standing here in the dark, it feels right. Taylor says she understands; for some reason, tonight was... She stops and says she should be getting her water, so she can go back to bed. As she pours some water, Thorne comes behind her and tells her not to turn around. He puts his hands on her shoulders and recalls what Ally said tonight; he tells Taylor that he feels the same way. He then takes his hands off her shoulders, smiles and bids Taylor goodnight.
