Dante learns that Bridget is pregnant.
After putting Dino to bed, Dante joins Felicia for some wine. Dante senses something wrong and asks Felicia what's up. Felicia replies that she can't break a confidence, but Dante presses her to tell him. Felicia decides that they shouldn't have secrets between them, and she figures everyone will know soon, anyway, so she tells him that Bridget is pregnant. Dante assumes he's the father and assures Felicia that this won't change how he feels about her or Dino, but she tells him that he's not the father - Nick is. Felicia explains how Nick had been drinking after Brooke ran off to find Ridge. Bridget then found Nick, who thought his marriage was over, and tried to comfort him, but it turned out that Brooke hadn't left Nick after all. And now Bridget is pregnant, Dante sighs. He comments that Bridget never stopped loving Nick. Felicia agrees, and she's been thinking about that; knowing that Bridget still really loves Nick, Felicia suggests that this pregnancy may not be a bad thing.

Felicia suggests that Bridget's pregnancy may not be a bad thing.
Dante asks how Bridget's pregnancy can be a good thing if it tears Brooke's family apart. Felicia suggests that this baby might shuffle the players around in a way that's good for everyone: Bridget could be with Nick, while Brooke could go back to Ridge, leaving everyone better off. Felicia recalls Bridget predicting that they'd eventually wind up with the people they're supposed to be with. She thought Bridget was talking about her and Dante, but now she thinks Bridget was talking about herself and Nick, and Brooke and Ridge. Dante suggests that Brooke would not have married Nick if she wanted to be with Ridge. Felicia counters that Brooke wouldn't have gone to Ridge that night if she wanted to be with Nick. Dante asks where that leaves Donna, who is dating Ridge; Felicia responds that her brother is in love with Brooke and always will be. If things turn out the way she expects, she thinks Brooke might forgive Bridget. "For sleeping with her husband and having this baby?" Dante asks. Felicia thinks Brooke might even be grateful. She points to their own experience with Dominick as proof that an unexpected child isn't always a disaster. She admits it was a bumpy road, but things worked out for them, so maybe it might work out for Bridget, too.

Dr. Caspary gives Bridget the good news and the bad.
At the hospital, Bridget urges Dr. Caspary to do the ultrasound now; she needs to know if Nick is her baby's father before Nick tells her mother about this pregnancy! Dr. Caspary says she'll do the ultrasound, but she needs Bridget to calm down. She warns Bridget that undue stress could be dangerous for a pregnant woman with Bridget's history, no matter who the father is. As the doctor begins the procedure, Bridget prays that this baby is Nick's. Dr. Caspary is surprised that Bridget wants her mother's husband to be the father; Bridget explains that she doesn't want Nick to destroy his marriage over nothing. Dr. Caspary and Bridget both anxiously watch as Dr. Caspary takes some measurements from the ultrasound. Dr. Caspary asks Bridget if she wants the good news or the bad news. Bridget just wants to confirm what she's seeing. The good news, Dr, Caspary explains, is that the halves of the baby's brain are symmetrical, and the baby's heart seems healthy. Bridget points out that there can be cardiac activity before the heart is fully formed, but Dr. Caspary points out the four chambers of the fetus's heart. From what she's seeing, this is a healthy, developing baby - which brings her to the bad news.

Bridget wonders how she could have been so wrong.
Bridget doesn't want to hear the bad news, but Dr. Caspary thinks Bridget, as a doctor, already knows what she's about to say. Bridget asks her please not to say it, but Dr. Caspary says that the ultrasound leaves no doubt. Given it's size and developmental state, the fetus growing inside Bridget is not a few weeks old. As the doctor predicted from the HCG levels, Bridget is about nine weeks pregnant. Bridget asks how that can be, when she had her period. Dr. Caspary points out several scenarios where Bridget might have thought she was having her period. She asks Bridget if she's been worried or tired lately. When Bridget says she's been dealing with a lot lately, Dr. Caspary suggests that Bridget's hormones aren't making it any easier. Bridget can't believe this is happening, and she asks how she could have been so wrong. She then remembers that Nick is with her mother on the boat; she fears she won't get to them before Nick, thinking he's the father, tells her mother about the baby and destroys their marriage. She grabs her cell phone and calls Nick, but it goes to voice mail. She frantically leaves Nick a message that the baby is not his child, so he shouldn't tell her mother that he's the father!

Nick tries to explain.
On the Shady Marlin, a distraught Brooke pleads with Nick to tell her that he didn't sleep with Bridget and get Bridget pregnant. Nick tries to explain, but Brooke slaps him in the face! Nick says he's sorry and asks for a chance to explain, but Brooke doesn't want to hear about his act of infidelity. She's especially enraged that he could do that to Bridget, who still loves him, after everything Bridget's been through this year. She can't believe that Nick slept with Bridget and got Bridget pregnant, all because he wanted to get back at her for going to Ridge! Just the thought of it makes her sick! Nick tries to argue that he'd been drinking. He thought their marriage was over when she kissed Ridge. Brooke tells him not to dare blaming this on her! Nick admits that it's his fault. He hates what this has done to her and to Bridget. Brooke accuses him of betraying their marriage and Bridget's friendship by taking advantage of Bridget! Nick tells her that he came here to be alone. Then Bridget showed up, and they started talking. Bridget was there when he took off his wedding ring; she thought that felt right, because of Brooke's history with Ridge. Brooke can't believe he's blaming Bridget for this and calls him a sick son of a bitch! Nick tries to explain, but Brooke has heard enough. She can't believe she trusted him. Nick admits he made a terrible mistake. Brooke points out that he wasn't drunk or out of control. He could have brought back some floozy from the bar. Instead, he took off his wedding ring and took her daughter to bed! She can only think of one reason he'd do that: he wanted her to suffer in the worst way possible.
Nick tells Brooke that he never wanted to hurt her. But he did, Brooke says, more than she ever thought he could. Nick argues that she was kissing her ex-husband, who he'd begged her to let go of, so he got confused. So confused that he slept with her daughter? Brooke angrily asks. She reminds him that she chose him because she believed in him. Nick admits that he failed her, and he can't make excuses for that or undo it. But he can try to make things right, if she'll let him. Brooke tells him that she might be able to forgive him if this was just an act of infidelity, but his baby is growing inside her daughter's belly! Nick says that she has every right to be angry. "Don't give up on us," he pleads. Brooke retorts, "There is no more 'us'." Nick insists that he knows how forgiving she can be, but Brooke says that she can't forgive this! Nick points out that Bridget felt the same way when she found out about Hope, but she forgave Brooke. Brooke tells him not to dare throw that in her face! Nick urges her to find a way out of this, but Brooke only wants him out of her house, out of her life and away from her children! She can't forget this, and she can't be near him. In fact, she can't even bear to look at him!

Brooke feels betrayed by Nick.
Brooke runs on deck, lamenting how Ridge begged her to come back to him. But she couldn't do it, because she didn't trust Ridge. But she trusted Nick, because she felt safe with him. Nick grabs her and tells her not to talk crazy like this. Brooke tells him to let go and pulls away, and the force of her pulling away sends him tumbling overboard! In the water, Nick calls out to her. Brooke seems scared for just a brief moment, as she reaches for a life preserver and tosses it to Nick. "Bastard!" she mutters as she turns away. She goes inside the boat and calls the Harbor Patrol, telling them that there is a man overboard outside the Marina del Rey harbor. The Harbor Patrol acknowledges the call and asks Brooke if she's going back.
Brooke solemnly responds, "I'm never going back again, not ever," as she puts the boat in gear and sets sail for the harbor.
