Bridget
Bridget tells Nick that he's not her baby's father.
At the hospital, Bridget frantically tries to find Nick. After trying Nick's cell and her mother's, Bridget tries calling Nick's secretary, who doesn't know how to reach him, either. Frustrated, Bridget looks at the ultrasound photo and her cell; she prays for Nick to call so she can tell him her child isn't his.

A washed up Nick arrives at the Shady Marlin, looking for Brooke, but she's not there. He takes out his cell phone, only to find that it's too wet to use, so he angrily throws it across the cabin. Soon after, Bridget arrives. "Thank God!" she exclaims, thinking she's in time. When Nick asks why she's thanking God, Bridget realizes that he already told her mother and asks how Brooke reacted. Nick tells her that Brooke threw him overboard. He fears Brooke hates him now. "Not as much as you're gonna hate me," Bridget mutters. Not hearing that comment, Nick laments that he'd convinced himself that he and Brooke could deal with his revelation, but he must have said it the wrong way. He knew Brooke would be hurt to learn that he slept with Bridget, but the news that Bridget was carrying his child must have been too much for Brooke. Bridget breaks in and tells him that they're not having that child.

Nick
Nick is stunned by Bridget's revelation.
Nick reminds Bridget that he was there when she got the test results; were the results wrong? Bridget explains that the results were right. She is pregnant. But when they checked her HCG levels, they were too high for... Nick tells Bridget to stop with the doctor talk, so she tells him that the baby is Dante's. She was wrong when she said he was the father. Nick is stunned. Bridget says that she's so sorry, but she thought... She stops herself and says that it doesn't matter what she thought. It was a mistake. She saw the ultrasound herself and confirmed that she's at least nine weeks pregnant. "Then it can't be mine," Nick realizes, thinking about the lengths he was willing to go to for his child. But it's not his. Bridget wishes it was, despite what that would do to their lives. Nick asks if she told Dante; Bridget replies that she came straight here and asks what her mother said. Nick doesn't think she wants to know. Bridget reminds him that they and Brooke can put this behind them if he's not the father. But she's still having a child with a man who's with someone else, Nick reminds her. But it's not too late for him and her mom, Bridget points out, urging him to call Brooke. Nick asks if he can use her phone, since his is a bit damaged.

Eric
Eric tunes out Stephanie's plans by reading the newspaper.
At the Forrester mansion, Stephanie gets off the phone with the airport. She tells Eric, who is reading the newspaper, that Ridge cancelled his limo, because "Ms. Logan" picked him up. She's sure she knows what Donna has in mind. "Yeah, everybody knows only sluts hang out at LAX," Eric sarcastically replies. Stephanie tells him to put down that paper and listen. She's worried that Donna has her sights on Ridge, because Donna isn't in Ridge's leagues. Eric thinks that only Brooke is really in Ridge's league, but that's a moot point since Brooke married Nick. Temporarily, Stephanie retorts. Eric warns that he won't help her plot the end of Brooke and Nick's marriage. but Stephanie says she's not planning anything. She thinks it's only a matter of time before Nick falls off the pedestal Brooke's placed him on, leading Brooke to realize what a mistake she made by marrying Nick.

Across the courtyard, Ridge and Donna enter the Forrester guest house. Ridge is surprised to find that Donna has dinner waiting. He thanks her for picking him up, fixing him dinner and making his "funky, little guest house" feel like home. Donna replies that she just wanted to show that she appreciates him. Over dinner, Ridge admires all the trouble Donna went to; she tells him to consider it her way of thanking him for showing her the time of her life in Europe. She enjoyed being with him every day, so it was kind of hard to come home without him. Ridge tells her that she didn't miss much after she left, since he just did some "dad stuff" with Steffy. He admits that he got homesick himself, which is why he wants to let R.J. know he's home. Donna reminds him that it's late, so R.J. is probably in bed. Ridge decides to take a shower instead; Donna tells him to go ahead while she cleans up here.

Brooke
A heartbroken Brooke drives through the night.
Brooke is driving in her car, remembering how Nick told her that he had slept with Bridget and gotten her pregnant. She then recalls a time when Ridge predicted that Nick would eventually let her down, but she told Ridge that Nick would never do that. She then recalls another time, where Ridge told her how happy they would be if she would only take him back; she told him that she was staying with Nick, who would always be there for her, no matter what she put him through. Finally, she remembers the night she went off to find Ridge after seeing Ridge and Donna on TV; when Nick came home that night, she apologized for everything she put him through and begged him for another chance, because she didn't deserve his love devotion. In tears, she laments what a fool she's been. She picks up her cell phone and calls the Forrester guest house; when she gets the answering machine, she leaves a message for Ridge to call her, because she finally sees that she was wrong and he was right. At the guest house, Donna hears the message on the answering machine; afraid of what it means, she presses the button to erase the message.

Donna
Donna tells Ridge how she feels.
Ridge comes out of the shower and finds Donna lighting candles. She hopes she's not being too obvious, but she wanted to find a way to tell Ridge that she loved him. The only thing is, she doesn't know if he cares about her, too. "Of course I do," Ridge responds, but Donna doesn't think that his caring means he loves her. Ridge wishes things were different, but she knows how he feels about Brooke. And he and Brooke share a son, he adds. Donna says that she's not asking for anything. She just wants to "get rid of the elephant in the room." She knows she can never replace Brooke for him. But the fact is that, Brooke's made her decision and is part of his past now. She reminds him that she has a past, too, so it's like they're both starting over. She knows he can never love her like he loves Brooke, but she thinks he can learn to love her without thinking of her as his second choice. She tells him that she's a big girl, so she can deal with his breaking her heart if that happens. But they can never have that chance if she doesn't put it on the line. They start kissing.

Stephanie
Stephanie hopes Brooke has come to her senses.
At the main house, Stephanie sees the lights on in the guest house and wants to go throw Donna out, but Eric tells her not to. Stephanie argues that Ridge doesn't want Donna, but Eric reminds her that Ridge is old enough to make his own decisions. Stephanie worries that Brooke might not ever forgive Ridge if he sleeps with Donna. Brooke will only have herself to blame, Eric states, but Stephanie laughs as she asks when Brooke has ever blamed herself. Stephanie peeks again out the window; she sighs as she considers that Ridge and Brooke would probably be married if Nick and Bridget had only stayed together. Just then, she sees Brooke's car approach the guest house and wonders if Brooke has finally come to her senses.

Ridge
Ridge urges Brooke to tell him what's wrong.
Ridge and Donna's kissing is interrupted by a knock at the door. Ridge groans that it's probably his mother. Donna agrees, but she and Ridge are both surprised when he opens the door and Brooke jumps into Ridge's arms. Seeing how frantic Brooke is, Ridge asks her what's wrong. Are the kids OK? Is Bridget all right? "Yeah, I guess she's all right," Brooke replies. Donna offers to call Nick, but Brooke tells her "No!" Ridge guesses that it has to do with Nick. Brooke tearfully tells Ridge that she swore she would never let anyone hurt her like he did. She wonders why she didn't come back to him. "Because what I did was unforgivable," Ridge admits. But Brooke says that she does forgive him. She was just scared, and she wanted to be safe. But she wasn't safe; she remembers all Ridge's warnings and laments that she just didn't listen! Ridge asks Brooke to tell him what Nick did. She begs him not to make her tell him. She just wonders if it's too late for her and Ridge. Donna shakes her head in disbelief as Ridge answers, "It's not too late. It's never too late." Cupping Brooke's face, he says that they both got caught up in something, but he never gave up on her, because he knew this day would come. He knew he'd have her in his arms, like it should be, always.

Ridge then kisses Brooke and tells her it's OK, bringing Donna nearly to tears.
