Stephanie looks on while Eric questions why Nick would barge in as he did.
At Brooke's house, Darla tells the musicians and minister to just hang tight, since Forrester weddings rarely run smoothly. Eric meanwhile is furious that Nick would barge in and stop the wedding and wants to confront Nick, but Stephanie stops him and says that they need to sort it out on their own. Eric says there is nothing to sort out, since Brooke is marrying Ridge and Nick should be home with his wife. He looks to Massimo and asks what kind of son would do this. Mass says that he doesn't approve of his younger son acting like a lovesick fool when he's married to Bridget. He reminds Eric that he cares about Bridget. They all do, Jackie says, including Nick. Then why would Nick do this? Thorne asks. Jackie isn't sure, but she knows Nick would never hurt Bridget or Brooke. Stephanie just looks on through all this.

Nick tells Brooke to be honest with herself.
Upstairs, Ridge pounds on the door, furious at Nick for stopping his wedding. Inside the bedroom, Brooke pulls away from Nick's kiss, but Nick pulls her right back. Brooke pulls away again and slaps him. She can't believe that he would stop her wedding when he's married to her daughter. Nick tries to tell her that Bridget saw through the sacrifice they made for her and sees that they belong together, so she let him go and told him to stop the wedding. Brooke can't believe it. Nick tells her that it was painful for Bridget, but not as painful as holding onto something that was never meant to be. But Bridget loves him, Brooke insists. And he'll always love Bridget, Nick responds, but this isn't about that. It's about their being honest with their feelings - and he thinks that if Brooke is honest with herself, she'll admit that she loves him and can't marry Forrester. Outside, Ridge is about to break down the door. Brooke calls out for him to give her a minute to try and settle this before it becomes even more of a fiasco. Ridge reluctantly agrees, but before he goes down, he calls out to Nick that there will be a wedding today. Inside, Nick tells Brooke that there might be a wedding somewhere today, but it won't be Ridge's.

Thorne and Sally consider what Nick's interruption means.
Downstairs, Darla worries about what Bridget will do when she finds out what Nick did. Thorne thinks Nick might be crazy, but Darla wonders if he's so in love with Brooke that he thought he had to stop this wedding. Thorne is sure his big brother won't allow that. As if on cue, Ridge comes down and tells them that Brooke asked for time to settle this, so he'll give her just a few minutes. Massimo wants to go up and settle this, but Stephanie stops him and asks Ridge to consider that Brooke would never have let Nick carry her off if she really wanted this wedding. Thorne tells Ridge that he's sorry, since Ridge didn't deserve this. Ridge agrees, pointing out that they all heard Brooke profess her love in her vows. And that's what she's telling Nick now, Thorne guesses. Stephanie tells Ridge that he's in denial, but Eric can't believe that Brooke will dump Ridge for Nick. Can't he see what's happening either? Stephanie asks. Just then, Bridget bolts in and asks where Nick is. Eric says he's upstairs. Bridget asks about her mother and the wedding. Stephanie confirms that Brooke is with Nick and that the wedding is on hold. Bridget runs upstairs, so Ridge bets the wedding won't be on hold for long. He wants to follow Bridget, but Stephanie stops him. Ridge thinks he has to stop Bridget. From finding out that her husband is still in love with her mother? Stephanie asks. She says that Bridget knows that. She doesn't want him or Bridget to be hurt, but she thinks they have to stop their denial of what's going on here.
Upstairs, Brooke asks Nick how he could be so cruel to Bridget, who is still grieving the loss of two children and isn't in any position to be making decisions about her marriage. Nick disagrees; he thinks what happened with first Nicole and then Dominick showed him and Bridget how they were only together for the kids, and Bridget doesn't want that. He says that Bridget wanted to do what's right, which is for him to be with Brooke. Brooke refuses to believe that and orders Nick to leave. Nick assures her that Bridget ended the marriage, even taking his wedding ring off his finger. Bridget's confused, Brooke says. Nick argues that Bridget is actually seeing things as they are and knows now that no one will be happy from a marriage based on sacrifice. He reminds Brooke of their commitment not to hurt Bridget and says that they lived up to that, but now things have changed and Bridget no longer wants him. Brooke still can't believe it, since she knows how much he and Bridget love each other. And he always will, he says, but Bridget deserves a man who can love her unconditionally, like he loves her (Brooke). Just then, Bridget knocks on the door. Nick lets her in and she goes to her mom, who says she's sorry. Bridget says there's no need; she's just glad she got there before Brooke made the biggest mistake of her life by marrying Ridge.

Dante fantasizes about life with Bridget.
Dante's back home, where a photo of Bridget sparks a fantasy where he is with Bridget, just after Nick and Brooke have gone off together. He asks Bridget if she thinks Nick and her mom will stay together. Bridget says she doesn't know, but she's glad things are out in the open. Bridget then tells Dante how she and he have gone from friends to confidantes. Dante thinks they should take the next step, once she's ready. They kiss; Bridget asks where he's been all her life. They kiss again before the fantasy ends. Dante puts the photo back down and smiles.

Jackie tells Massimo and the others what Stephanie has done.
Downstairs at Brooke's house, everyone grows impatient. Jackie doesn't know how much longer Ridge, Eric or Massimo will wait. Stephanie thinks they have to, since Jackie doesn't want this wedding any more than she does. She just wishes she could give Jackie her headache. Jackie asks if she means Brooke; Stephanie points out how Jackie knows Nick loves Brooke. Jackie admits she always wanted Nick with Brooke, but at the same time, her son made a commitment to Bridget. But Nick only lived up to that because of the baby, Stephanie says, and Bridget never faced that until Stephanie... Stephanie stops. Jackie guesses from the way Stephanie just stopped that Stephanie had something to do with pressuring Bridget into facing the truth. Stephanie tries to walk away, but Jackie demands answers. Eric and Massimo ask what's going on. Jackie tells them that Stephanie had a talk with Bridget and wasn't going to tell anyone about it. Stephanie says she only did what no one else was willing to and told Bridget the truth, that there are no more children to hold Bridget's marriage together. She felt Bridget deserved a man who was completely in love with her, which is why she told Bridget to let Nick go. She hopes that Bridget did that and that's why Nick barged in here today. She hopes they don't accuse her of meddling. Ridge can't believe how his mother has butt into their lives; he says he'll deal with her later, after the minister pronounces him and Brooke husband and wife. He heads back upstairs.

Bridget assures her mother that she willingly ended her marriage.
In the bedroom, Bridget urges her mother not to marry Ridge if she loves Nick. She doesn't think Brooke can ever be happy marrying people she's not in love with. She states that her marriage is over. She knows Brooke and Nick love each other, and if they keep trying to fight it... Brooke refuses to let Bridget talk this way when she's still overwhelmed by a tragic loss. And that tragic loss will always be with her, Bridget says, but it would be just as tragic for her to keep pretending. She leads her mother to the bed and tells her that she has accepted, without bitterness or resentment, that her mom and Nick are in love. Of course she wishes things were different, because she still loves Nick. But what happened with Nicole and Dominick showed her that she has to be honest that she can never have the life she needs, the one she knows Brooke wants for her and that they all want for each other, if she holds onto something that's not hers to begin with. She knows Brooke would not marry Ridge if Nick was available - and he's available now, so he and Brooke can be together. A tearful Brooke is speechless.

Ridge asks Brooke to go back down, but she doesn't answer.
Brooke gets up and says that Ridge is waiting downstairs. Bridget offers to talk to him, but Brooke says she still can't let Bridget give up on her marriage when she needs it the most. What she needs now, Bridget says, is honesty. She knows her mother loves Ridge, but she also knows that Brooke deep down wants Nick. Brooke protests, but Bridget says it's OK. The marriage is over. Removing her wedding band and putting it on the dresser, Bridget tells Brooke that Nick is hers now. They can be together. Brooke is crying just as Ridge comes in. He asks Nick what's wrong with him and orders him out. He just wants to get on with his wedding and tells Brooke to go down. When Brooke doesn't move, Ridge calls out to her, "Logan?" She turns to face him as he asks, "Brooke?" but she doesn't answer.
