Taylor tells Thomas about Stephanie's call.
Taylor and Thomas return home to the Bel Air mansion after visiting Phoebe and Steffy at boarding school in Ojai. Thomas says that Taylor was quiet on the drive back; she says she was thinking about how well the twins were doing, but Thomas thinks she was thinking about his dad marrying Brooke today. Taylor reminds him that he could have gone to the wedding. He jokes that he enjoyed the chance to razz his sisters, but then gets serious and says that his dad understood why he wanted to be with his mom today. When Thomas goes to get a sandwich, Taylor pours herself a glass of wine and looks at a photo of her and Ridge. Just then, Stephanie calls to tell her that Nick barged in to stop the wedding. When Thomas returns, Taylor tells him about Stephanie's call. He seems surprised, since he thought Nick and Bridget's marriage was solid. Taylor explains that the loss of the children might have strained the marriage. Thomas asks if that's what his Grandma thinks. Stephanie didn't say, Taylor says, but Stephanie was pretty sure that there wouldn't be a wedding, at least not today. Thomas guesses that his mom might not really be broken up about that. Taylor says that she knows from her work that stress can make people behave unexpectedly. Still, she tells Thomas as she sips some more wine, they shouldn't read to much into this. She reminds him that his father must love Brooke if he asked her to marry him today. But if Brooke didn't welcome Ridge back with open arms, Thomas speculates, there must be a reason - like Brooke is still in love with Nick.

Thomas tries to get his mom to see the bright side.
Taylor tells Thomas not to go there. She loves Ridge, but even if he wanted her back, she's not sure if she's ready to get on the emotional roller coaster of competing with Brooke for his heart again. But that's not her fault, Thomas says, since his dad should never have put her in that position. Taylor agrees, but she points out that she didn't tell Ridge "no," either, which is why they're in all this pain. She suggests that Thomas not speculate on this. Thomas says he doesn't want Bridget to be hurt, but didn't his Grandma say that Bridget set Nick free. Taylor thinks that's just wishful thinking by Stephanie. It could be, Thomas says, since his Grandma doesn't want Brooke with his dad. Even if it's true, Taylor says, it doesn't mean that Brooke will go running right to Nick. Because Brooke loves Ridge, too, Thomas says. Pouring herself more wine, Taylor says it's complicated. What isn't? Thomas asks. He considers if Brooke doesn't go through with the wedding today. Taylor stops him and says that affects his dad, not her. She's done letting Brooke's wishy-washy choices dictate her life. So she's protecting herself? Thomas asks. She's protecting her children, she replies. She knows Thomas is getting his hopes up. Is that bad? Thomas asks. She tells him that a little faith isn't a bad thing. He suggests that she take her own advice. She replies by telling him to remember that his dad is a wonderful man; whatever happens with her and Ridge, she doesn't want Thomas to let it affect his relationship with his father.
At Brooke's house, Thorne, Darla and Sally wonder if there's going to be a wedding. Sally notes that Stephanie seems to be missing. Darla spots the family matriarch on the balcony, on her cell phone. Probably calling for reinforcements, Sally guesses.

Eric and Massimo want to know what's going on upstairs.
Meanwhile, Eric goes up the balcony and interrupts Stephanie's call (to Taylor). Is he going to berate her for this, too? she asks. As they go back down, Eric asks how she could go to Bridget to convince her to let Nick go, so Nick could marry Brooke. Stephanie thinks he should be happy that his daughter had the sense to walk out on a bad marriage. This isn't about Bridget, Eric argues, but about his wife not wanting Brooke to marry Ridge. Massimo overhears and says that Ridge won't let that happen. He thinks Ridge and Brooke belong together as a family, to raise their child, and no one should get in the way of that, especially not Ridge's brother. That's why he's going upstairs now to set Nick straight. Jackie stops him. He asks how she can condone their son's reckless and unforgivable act. She tries to tell him that Nick and Bridget have come to a realization that without a child binding them... But there is a child binding Brooke and Ridge, Mass says. Jackie and Stephanie try to explain that Brooke and Nick made a sacrifice for Bridget. So Bridget is a sacrifice? Eric asks. No, Jackie and Stephanie say. Stephanie tells Eric that in setting Nick free, Bridget has set herself free. Jackie thinks it's time they all communicated their true feelings, so they can make the right decisions. She asks Mass if he wants that for his son. Eric says that he doesn't want his daughter taken advantage of, by Nick, or (looking at Stephanie) by anyone else with their own agenda. He goes upstairs, with Stephanie right behind as Massimo glares at Jackie.

Bridget tells Ridge that she chose to end her marriage to Nick.
Brooke, Ridge, Nick and Bridget are in Brooke's bedroom. Ridge asks Brooke if she's OK, but he then asks how she can be, since she can't possibly want Bridget alone with (looking at Nick) "this jerk." He then tells Bridget that it's not her fault that her husband betrayed her by dumping her and racing to stop her mother's wedding. But Nick didn't betray her, Bridget says; what happened here today is her fault. Ridge tells her that she can't mean that, but she says she does. In fact, she even told Nick to stop the wedding. Ridge asks what kind of ming games her "so-called husband" is playing on her. He recalls how Nick ripped her heart out, but then he crawled back to her when she was carrying his child, only to walk away again for her mother mere days after they lost that child. He asks what kind of pig does that. Bridget intently tells Ridge to listen to her. Nick didn't walk out on her, she states. She decided to end the marriage, and Nick is only here right now because she realized that their marriage wasn't working, no matter how much she wanted it to. Ridge argues that she should have gotten rid of "that bastard" after the way Nick hurt her. And even if her marriage is over, he states, it doesn't mean she has to do this. He knows how much she loves her mother. Bridget reminds Ridge of all the years she supported his being with her mother, after she grew up seeing them together. But then Taylor came back, and he chose Taylor, hurting Brooke more than she'd ever been hurt in her life. She tells Ridge that she's tired of pretending that there's no strong connection between her mother and Nick, because she's accepted that there is, and she thinks Ridge must accept it, too.

Ridge can't believe what he's hearing.
Ridge can't believe what he's hearing. Nick says that Bridget is just telling it like it is. Ridge reminds Bridget that how emotional she is now after her huge loss, and now Nick is using that to scam his way out of their marriage now that there's no longer a child involved. Bridget again tells him that she made this choice. She faced up the feelings between her mother and Nick, something she should have done long ago, and that's why she asked Nick to stop the wedding today. After being married to someone who is in love with someone else, which is why she wants her mother and Nick to have some time together. She doesn't want to spend even one more minute wondering if things will change with just a little more time. The longer her mother and Nick are apart, the stronger their feelings become, and she won't stand in the way of that anymore. She doesn't think Ridge should, either. She thinks her mom and Nick need to explore their feelings for each other. And if those feelings are really what her mother and Nick think they are, she's happy for them. She assures Ridge that she's let this go, and if Ridge loves her mother, she thinks he should, too.

Stephanie admires Bridget for making the choice she did.
Eric and Stephanie enter the room. Eric asks Ridge and Brooke what's going on, but they are just silent. Bridget takes her father and Stephanie to another bedroom, where she assures Eric that they have to let her mom, Ridge and Nick work this out for themselves. Eric says he is just worried about her. She says that she's OK. Nick was just doing what she told him to, and she's just glad he got there in time. Eric asks Bridget if she said all that to Brooke. She says she said it to Brooke and to Ridge. Eric asks if she'll be OK. She admits it won't be easy getting over Nick, and she's not sure she ever will, but she still thinks Nick is an amazing man. A man who hurt her, Eric says. But it wasn't Nick's fault, she says. It wasn't anyone's fault. She just happened to get involved in someone else's love story, and it's too bad for her that it wasn't her own. Stephanie praises Bridget for having the strength to make the choice she did. She's relieved about that, since Bridget can now start mending her life.

Brooke has a decision to make.
In Brooke's bedroom, Ridge watches as Nick approaches Brooke and looks her in the eye. He tells her that she has an amazing daughter. "Get your hands off my wife!" Ridge calls out. Nick turns to Ridge and says he knows Ridge feels the same way about Bridget. He then turns back to Brooke and points out Bridget's selfless act tonight, something she did because she loves Brooke. He says that Bridget came here tonight so Brooke would know she had Bridget's support. Ridge butts in and tells "Romeo" Nick that Brooke's heard enough, and so has he. The fantasy that Nick's cooked up isn't happening, he says. Nick says that he really is sorry for busting up the wedding. He knows Ridge has had a hard time with Taylor and thinks he wants a future with Brooke. But things have changed, so he'd like some time alone with Brooke. Ridge is upset that Nick wants time with his wife. She's not his wife, Nick says. Ridge tells Brooke that she opened her heart to Popeye here, and he obviously hasn't gotten over it, even though he swore to love and honor her daughter. Nick says he has. For about five seconds, Ridge retorts. He thinks he's been patient enough by not kicking Nick out. He then tells Brooke that he's sorry their wedding was interrupted, but they're destined to be together, no matter what Bridget or Nick say. He asks her to tell Nick that she loves him [Ridge], and that her future is with him and their family. "Tell him," Ridge urges, as Brooke looks at Nick.
