Brooke considers Bridget's suggestion that she has a chance to get Ridge back.
Brooke is still with Nick and Bridget at their beach house, discussing the Taylor/Ridge situation. Bridget wonders how Ridge will react. Nick thinks he knows. Brooke thinks Ridge will not take it well if there is more to it than just a kiss. Nick asks if she thinks St. Taylor had an affair with the heroic fireman. Brooke admits it's hard to believe, so Bridget suggests that Brooke call over there. Nick thinks Brooke will be better off not getting sucked back into Ridge's life, but Bridget reminds him that Brooke always will be part of her mom's life. Nick says that having a son together doesn't mean... He stops himself and says Brooke doesn't need him telling her how to live her life. Bridget thinks they both want what's best for Brooke. And she thinks that's Ridge? Nick asks hiw wife. It would be a chance for her mother to get back a life with a man who she shared some intense history with. Brooke starts to say something; Bridget tells her mom that she doesn't wish anything bad on Ridge and Taylor, and she knows her mom is doing the best she can as a single parent. Nick thinks that Brooke is handling things just fine. Bridget reminds him that she knows what it's like not to have a father growing up; she just wants Hope and RJ to have what she didn't. She only wants wonderful things for them – and for Brooke. Brooke and Nick stare at one another again.

Nick tells Brooke that thinking of her being back with Ridge feels wrong.
After putting Bridget to bed, Nick returns to Brooke, who looks at some knitting Bridget has worked on. Brooke thinks it's pretty, but Nick doesn't know what it is. Changing the subject, Nick asks if Brooke thinks Ridge and Taylor will really split up, since he doesn't think it's any of his business. Brooke says it isn't hers, either, as Stephanie made clear. Nick hopes Stephanie wasn't too hard on her. Brooke says that Stephanie is just running scared now that her precious Taylor's true colors are being shown. She then tires of talking about Taylor, so she changes the subject and thanks Nick for the amazing job he's been doing keeping Bridget happy. She says he's an amazing man and gazes at him intently, and Nick returns her gaze. Brooke breaks the tension and says she has to go. Nick thanks her for coming, since it meant a lot to Bridget, and to him. Brooke then leaves, but Nick sees she left her purse and runs out to catch her; as he finds her on the porch and hands her the purse, their hands touch in an awkward moment. Nick knows he shouldn't say this, but if Taylor and Ridge break up... Brooke stops him and says they won't break up. But if they do, Nick says... He knows Ridge is RJ's father, but he thinks it would be wrong for Brooke to go back to Ridge. Brooke says she understands and thanks him with a hug for all he's done for Bridget. They break away, and it seems like they could kiss. Brooke leaves and Nick watches her go.

Felicia asks Stephanie what's going on with Ridge and Taylor.
At the mansion, Felicia overhears Stephanie leaving a voice mail message urging Taylor not to tell Ridge. As she ends the call, Felicia asks her mom what has her in such a panic; she heard Taylor's name and promises to take whatever secret Taylor is harboring to the grave. Stephanie tells her daughter to stop with the gallows humor, but Felicia thinks it helps her cope. She asks her mom what's going on with Ridge and Taylor. Stephanie replies that Taylor is bringing up something that happened long ago and telling Ridge about it. She worries that Taylor's secret could destroy Ridge and Taylor's marriage, which is why she wants Taylor to keep quiet. Felicia isn't surprised to see her mother butt in but advises Stephanie to let Taylor handle her own marriage. Stephanie doesn't think she can, since doing that will lead to the end of the marriage. Felicia can't see it being anything that serious with Taylor involved and asks her mom what it is. Stephanie admits that she fears that Brooke might take advantage of this situation. And if she did, Felicia asks, would it be so bad, since Ridge and Brooke share a child? Stephanie thinks it would be so bad, which is why she thinks Ridge HAS to forgive Taylor. The alternative is unthinkable.

Ridge feels like he doesn't even know his wife anymore.
At the Bel Air mansion, Taylor can't believe that Ridge is mad about how she treated Brooke, since Brooke isn't the problem. Ridge thinks it is and can't believe Taylor can't see that. Taylor reminds him that she just confessed her darkest secret to him to heal their marriage. She has faith that they can do that if Ridge wants to heal their marriage, too. When Ridge is silent, Taylor cries for him to say something! Ridge says that he doesn't know who she is anymore, now that he knows how she and his mother conspired to keep such an important truth from him again. By "again," Taylor asks, is he talking about finding out that Massimo is his father. Ridge says he should have known his mother wasn't some pillar of virtue once he found out that she had lied to him for most of life, leading him to believe that he was something he really wasn't. And now, to find out that his wife, who he always looked at as a shining example of integrity, was with another man. It was only one time, Taylor says, and he said he would forgive her. He admits he could forgive her, but he doesn't think that would excuse her hypocrisy in taking the moral high ground with Brooke. He thinks about how she and his mother ripped Brooke apart at every turn when they knew they were being hypocrites. Taylor says she never called Brooke names. But she never defended Brooke, either, Ridge points out. Taylor says he was always there to do that himself, but Ridge is ashamed to admit that he probably didn't do it often enough. He thinks Taylor must pay for casting stones at Brooke from a glass house.

Taylor urges Ridge not to walk out on her.
Taylor panics that she just bared her soul to Ridge, but he wants to talk about Brooke. She thinks they need to open up to each other about what this means to their marriage. Ridge thinks she had years to do that. He always treasured how honest she was for years, but those moments now all seem false. He reminds her how his perception of her influenced any decision he made, including the one to give up Brooke and their son. That decision was gut-wrenching, but how could he not do it for a perfect angel like Taylor? Taylor says she's not perfect. But she wanted him to see her that way, he says, as beautiful on the inside and out. But that's over now. He starts to get dressed; Taylor grabs his arm and tries to stop him, but he soon has his clothes on. Taylor begs him to look into his heart. He says he used to do that and see how pure and honest she was, but now he does that and sees that he doesn't even know her anymore. He thinks back to her return and recalls thinking that an angel had appeared to rescue him. Taylor begs him not to let this defeat them, but Ridge turns to walk out. Taylor chases after him and tries to hold him back, but Ridge shakes free and leaves her in the doorway of their bedroom, crying about how sorry she is.
