Dante brings Felicia a gift.
Dante drops by the Forrester guest house to see Felicia. He asks if he came by too early, but she tells him that Renee took Dominick to the park. She asks what brings him by. He gives her a bottle of champagne. She says it's her favorite brand and asks how he knew; he reminds her that she was drinking that when they met. In that case, she thinks they should pop it open. Dante asks if it's a bit early for that, but she reminds him that she's living on borrowed time, anyway. He admits that he realized after he bought the bottle that it might not be a good idea for her to drink in her condition. She's dying, she says, not pregnant. He worries about her mixing booze with her meds. She tells him to relax, as she's not going to check out over a glass of bubbly. As Felicia pours, she wonders if it was fate that she saw him at Insomnia the other day. Dante isn't sure, but he wants to apologize to her, since he didn't know about her condition then. How could he know, she asks, as she was so plastered when they first met that he had to walk her home? He asks if she's saying he doesn't know her that well. What she's saying, she explains, is that it's nice to spend time with someone who isn't so close to her that he'll be torn up once she passes on. Dante tells Felicia not to say that, but she says it's true. She doesn't have much time left. For a long time, it was enough for her to go for the gusto in life, but that all changed from the minute she held baby Dominick in her arms. Knowing what it was like to love someone so completely changed her in amazing ways.

Felicia guesses that she and Dante are a pair of losers at love.
Dante asks Felicia if she thinks fatherhood has changed Nick, too. From the minute he held his son, Felicia answers. Dante says he couldn't believe it when he heard that Nick was her son's father. Nick was surprised, too, she says, but they're past that. Right now, she's just relieved that Nick and Bridget will be there to raise her son, just like she would if it weren't for this damn cancer! Dante tells her to take it easy, since it's understandable that she doesn't want to miss out on seeing her son grow up. At least she's leaving him in good hands with Nick and Bridget, he says. Speaking of Bridget, he wonders how he feels about her raising Dominick, seeing how he and Bridget are so close. He tells her that he was ready to raise Bridget's child as his own until things changed. But he's still in love with Bridget? she asks. Just like she [Felicia] is still in love with Nick, he replies. Felicia asks if that makes them a couple of losers, making the "L" sign with her fingers on her forehead. Dante thinks they're losers at love. Felicia doesn't think that will be for long, since she knows someone will soon steal his heart and make him forget Bridget. Dante admits to Felicia that right now, he's liking getting to know her. She laughs that a girl could fall fast for his dimples. He asks if that would be so bad. She reminds him that her next breath could be her last. Then again, she reconsiders, what a way to go that would be.

Hector wonders how bad it would be for Brooke to tell Ridge what she saw.
Darla drops by the firehouse to see Hector and finds the bare-chested fireman working out. She apologizes for interrupting, but she wanted to know how things are. He says that work is fine, but she admits that she's really here to ask about New Year's Eve. She doesn't want to pry, but she thinks she said some things when they last met that she shouldn't have like. Like her telling him to go for it with Taylor? he asks. Yeah, she replies, explaining that it was wrong for her to be so disrespectful of Ridge's marriage just because of her feelings for Ridge. Hector asks if a husband deserves his wife when he can't even find the time to spend the holidays with her. She asks how he knew that Ridge wasn't there; because he was there with Taylor, he replies. Darla suggests that she and Hector keep their conversation just between the two of them, but Hector says it's too late, because Brooke walked in on him kissing Taylor. Darla is stunned, but Hector assures her that nothing happened. So it was just an innocent kiss? Darla asks. She says that she knows how he feels about Taylor and wonders if he thinks Brooke will say something about what she saw. Maybe it would be best if she did, Hector suggests.

Darla reminds Hector that Ridge's family is at stake.
Darla asks Hector if he's serious. He tells her that he's not the one breaking this house up. Ridge is, he explains, and he doesn't think that Taylor can take much more. But Taylor and Ridge's whole family is at stake, Darla argues, including their children. He says that even a self-involved father would have found a way to be home with his wife and kids on their first Christmas together in years. He doesn't know how Ridge missed out on being there to celebrate that miracle, so he suggests that maybe Brooke should take Ridge back, which would set Taylor free to start a new life with him. Darla wishes she had kept her mouth shut. Hector thinks everything worked out for the best. He tells Darla that Caitlin's mother, Samantha, was just like Ridge, driven by material things. That drove them apart, and he thinks the same thing will happen with Ridge and Taylor. But Taylor stays with Ridge, Darla points out. That's because Taylor has been loyal to a fault, Hector explains, and he thinks Taylor is starting to see that. He tells Darla that he loves Taylor, so he doesn't feel guilty about what he's doing. When you want something, he explains, you go for it. And he wants Taylor, Darla says. He tells Darla that he he and Taylor are meant to be together, which is why he intends to make something happen between them.

Taylor wants an answer from Brooke.
Brooke is at home, recalling how Stephanie recently told her that she would never measure up to Taylor. Speaking of the devil, Taylor drops by, wanting to know what Brooke intends to do about what they discussed last night. Brooke asks Taylor if she means her affair with Hector. There was no affair, Taylor says. Brooke reminds Taylor that she found her and the hunky fireman in a compromising situation. Taylor again says there was nothing compromising about it, but Brooke wonders how that could be when when she saw Hector kissing Taylor and heard him declare his love for her. Taylor says that Hector was just comforting her, and she assures Brooke that she didn't encourage Hector, either. That's why she wants Brooke to stay out of this. Brooke reminds Taylor that she shared a life and a child with Ridge, so she can't just look away so Taylor can have her fun with Hector. Taylor says there is nothing between her and Hector, but Brooke isn't buying it. She's sure if Taylor had found her in such a situation, then Taylor would be all over her, as would Stephanie. She asks why she should do Taylor a favor after the way Taylor and Stephanie have treated her. Taylor says she's not Stephanie. But Stephanie puts her up on a pedestal like a saint, Brooke says, all just to belittle Brooke.

Taylor says she's not Stephanie. But even so, Brooke says, Stephanie always treats her [Taylor] like she can do no wrong, and Brooke has had to live up to that for years. Taylor admits that Stephanie can go too far. But that never once got Taylor to come to her defense, Brooke says, adding that she would never wish Stephanie on her worst enemy, Taylor first says she's not Brooke's worst enemy, even if it might seem that way sometimes. Because of Ridge, Brooke says. Taylor says she just wanted the life with Ridge and her family that she had before back. And she got it, Brooke says, thanks to Stephanie faking a heart attack, but it didn't turn out the way Taylor wanted. So Taylor made Ridge the problem, Brooke continue, and in doing so, became the reason her marriage was falling apart. And why is that? Brooke asks. Because Taylor is falling for another man. Taylor insists she is committed to her marriage and her family. Brooke says she felt the same way, begging Taylor not to take Ridge from Hope or RJ. Taylor says she only wanted to protect her own children. "At the expense of mine," Brooke says, reminding Taylor how she would never hurt Thomas and the twins, because she cared for them as her own while Taylor was away. Taylor says she'll always be grateful for that. But not grateful enough to let RJ and Hope grow up with a father, Brooke says. She bets Taylor never had one regret about RJ not seeing Ridge for months, so she can't believe Taylor is getting so upset over Ridge missing the holidays.

Brooke wonders what other sins Taylor committed.
Taylor can't believe Brooke is talking like this when she claimed not too long ago that Nick, and not Ridge, was her "destiny." What happened with Nick, Brooke says, occurred after Taylor took her marriage from her. Taylor asks if this is payback; if it is, Taylor thinks it proves Stephanie has always been right about Brooke. And speaking of Stephanie, Brooke wonders, what would she think about Taylor being unfaithful? Taylor says she hasn't, but Brooke wonders if Ridge would agree. She reminds Taylor how a few words to Ridge now could not only destroy Taylor's marriage, but it could also shut Stephanie up for good. She starts to wonder what other sins Taylor has committed. Taylor can't believe Brooke would destroy her life and her kids' lives just for revenge. Brooke says she would never hurt Thomas and the girls because she loves them. But she also reminds Taylor how she won Ridge through Stephanie's heart attack lie, and she wonders what kind of flawed marriage that is. She recalls Hector saying that Taylor deserved better than Ridge and says that she believes Ridge deserves better than Taylor! Taylor pleads with Brooke to take the high road and not say anything to Ridge. She promises to tell Ridge herself to save her marriage. Brooke hears RJ crying, so she goes to tend to her son - a son who misses a father that was stolen from him. Taylor pleads with Brooke not to interfere, but her pleas fall on deaf ears as Brooke heads up to tend to her son.
