Hector checks up on Taylor.
Hector drops by the Bel Air mansion to check on Taylor, since he hasn't heard from her since New Year's Eve. Taylor apologizes for not returning his calls; it's just that Ridge knows about their New Year's Eve kiss. Hector says it's important to be honest. Yeah, Taylor sighs. Hector guesses from her tone that it didn't go well and says this is his fault; he never should have followed her upstairs that night. Taylor says it's not his fault, since she and Ridge have even bigger issues from long ago to work through. Hector says that you sometimes have to go through the bad to find the good. Taylor tells him that he's a good man. but she loves her husband and wants him back.

Brooke tells Ridge to go back to Taylor.
Ridge is still at Brooke's house, where she asks what he is saying. He says after all that's happened this past year, he sees that she's the only woman he can believe in, so he's asking... Brooke cuts him off and says that she doesn't want to hear what he's about to say, since it's just a knee-jerk reaction to his frustration with Taylor and Stephanie over his marital problems. Ridge asks her to listen, but she says she can't if he's fighting with Taylor. She reminds him of how much he hurt her. Ridge says that he didn't mean to hurt her, but he had no choice. But he did, Brooke says, and he chose a life with Taylor. That killed her, she explains, and now there's no going back. Ridge reminds him that they have a son. And he will always be in her life as RJ's father, Brooke says. However, she can't... she won't let herself be swept into his life again. She knows he's having problems with Taylor, but she thinks he will work those out. Ridge tells Brooke that she's always there whenever he's in a crisis. Brooke thinks that it would be easy right now to open herself to his promises, even if they're empty, and that's why she's taking a stand and sending him to Taylor and their children.

Taylor tells Hector that she still loves her husband and wants her marriage.
As Brooke walks away, Ridge calls Taylor and asks to meet with her alone. She says that the kids are at the movies, but he asks her to meet him at Big Bear. She agrees. As Ridge hangs up, Brooke reminds him that Big Bear is where Taylor and James... Ridge says that he knows. Brooke is surprised that Taylor agreed. She had no choice, Ridge says. Back in Bel Air, Taylor tells Hector that she has to go. Hector says she doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to, but she says that she wants to save her marriage. Even if she and Ridge are always fighting? Hector asks. She tells him that she is as much at fault for her marital problems as Ridge is. But Ridge will never be enough for her. Taylor asks him to stop pursuing her; Hector asks why he should if it means she'll just sit around and be loyal to a man who doesn't deserve her. She replies that she hasn't honest with Ridge, which is why she may be more to blame than Ridge for their problems. Hector says that can't be, as she's an angel. Taylor says that she's only human. She's grateful for his friendship, but she still loves her husband. And since she's hurt Ridge deeply, she can only pray God that she won't lose him forever.

Jackie is curious about Ridge and Taylor's problems.
Jackie drops by the Shady Marlin and finds Nick working by candlelight on a broken fuse box. How romantic, she quips. Nick says that he's fixing a blown fuse that took out the power. As he works, Jackie mentions that she stopped by the beach house, and Bridget told him that she had sent him here to stop fawning over her. Nick thinks that Bridget needs the help being stuck in bed, but Jackie says that a woman doesn't always want a doting husband fussing over her. Nick notes that Bridget is supposed to be in bed. That's where Bridget was going when she left, Jackie says. She says that Bridget told her about Felicia's visit earlier. Nick tells his mom about the video Felicia made for Dominick. Jackie thinks that was a wonderful idea, since that poor little boy will lose his mother soon. At least Nick and Bridget have given a generous gift by agreeing to raise Dominick once Felicia is gone. Nick says that's because he married an amazing woman. Jackie says that's why she's here and tells Nick about her and Massimo's plan to throw a shower for Bridget. Nick reminds her that they'll have to wait until Bridget's out of bed. Jackie realizes that, but she recalls the good time they had at Christmas. She thinks this will be a chance to bring the whole family together, including Ridge and Taylor. Nick isn't sure about those two, since they're having marital problems. Jackie wants details, but Nick says it's none of his business. Jackie wonders if that could bring Ridge and Brooke back together. It won't happen, Nick insists, since Brooke won't let Ridge let her down again.
Jackie notes how much Nick cares for Brooke. Nick assures her that he's committed to Bridget. Jackie says she knows that, but she also knows that his feelings for Brooke won't die. Just then, the lights flicker out. As Nick goes to check the fuse again, he hears someone boarding. Brooke calls out Nick's name, and she smiles when Nick shines a flashlight in her face. When Jackie sees that Brooke is here, she takes that as her cue to leave; she bids Brooke both hello and goodbye as she gives Nick a goodbye kiss on the cheek. Brooke sees Nick is busy and offers to go, too, but Nick tells her to stay. Brooke admits that she's like to talk to a friend about the bizarre day she had and agrees. Nick pulls up a chair to listen, so she tells him that it's about Ridge and Taylor. Nick guesses that Taylor told Ridge about Hector, but Brooke says that it goes beyond that. Nick is confused, so Brooke tells him that years ago, Taylor slept with a colleague, James Warwick. [They don't mention that Nick has met Dr. Warwick briefly, when Massimo asked James to help stage an intervention for Brooke while she was pregnant with RJ]. She then tells him how Taylor and Stephanie kept this from Ridge for years, so he's hurt to be finding out now. Nick isn't really surprised; first Ridge finds out that his wife kissed another man, and then she admits to sleeping with a colleague. He wonders if Taylor has any other skeletons in her closet. This one, Brooke explains, has really shaken Ridge, chipping away at the foundation of his marriage to the point where he doesn't know what to believe.

Nick asks Brooke to make him a promise.
Nick says he can't really blame Ridge. What hurt Ridge the most, Brooke explains, is the way Stephanie and Taylor looked down on her all these years when they weren't perfect themselves. Now that the truth is out, Ridge has stood up for her and refuses to let his mother influence him any more. Ridge also told her that he's sorry he turned his back on her and RJ, which is something she needed to hear. Nick thinks Ridge should have said it long ago. Brooke tells Nick that he would have said it if her was in Ridge's shoes. That's because he's smarter than Ridge, he says. Brooke is glad to see justice being finally done, but Nick doesn't want her to let some overdue apologies change things between her and Ridge. She tells him that Ridge asked Taylor to meet him at at Big Bear, where she slept with James. Nick wonders if Ridge is going to end his marriage. Brooke hopes not, since she thinks Ridge should stay with Taylor and told him so. But after Taylor betrayed him, Brooke doesn't know what Ridge might do. Either way, Nick tells Brooke, Ridge should know that she has moved on. He thinks it would be wrong for Ridge to use this to get back into Brooke's life. Brooke doesn't see Ridge ending his marriage. Even if Ridge does end it, Nick says, it would be wrong for her to let Ridge back into her life. He asks Brooke, knowing how vulnerable she is to Ridge, that she won't make that mistake and go back to Ridge if his marriage to Taylor goes belly up.

Ridge tells Taylor how he feels.
Taylor arrives at the Big Bear cabin and starts a fire. She then looks through a photo album, recalling many happy moments with Ridge. When Ridge arrives, Taylor says she's glad he called, since she knows he's upset. And angry, he adds, and disappointed. Taylor admits that she should have told him about James long ago. Now that she has, she wants to rebuild their marriage with complete honesty. Ridge wonders how she can be honest when she sat in judgement on Brooke for years, knowing she had been with another man. Why is it always about Brooke? she asks. She can understand if he's angry about James, but she can't fathom why he took her confession of her most painful sin and made it about Brooke. Doesn't he know how that makes her feel? Ridge reminds her that Brooke was his wife and they have a son, and he's never lied to her about those feelings. Taylor concedes that he hasn't. He says he just wanted to be honest. Taylor says she did, too, which is why she told him about James. She loves him, and their family is everything to her, which is why she wants to work through this. He has every right to be angry, she says, so why doesn't he be angry with her, so they can move on and he can forgive her? She reminds him of the wonderful life they shared. They loved each other, and that love has been tested. But even with that, she thinks their love is still strong, so they can ride this out if they try. She asks him to please tell her that he wants that. Ridge starts to walk away, so Taylor grabs his arm and tells him that she's not going to let this family fall apart!
