Stephanie continues her warning to Brooke.
At Brooke's house, Brooke wonders if there is something Stephanie isn't telling her. If Taylor is telling Ridge right now about what happened with Hector, Brooke surmises, then Stephanie wouldn't be here right now, anxious for Brooke to stay away from Ridge or Taylor. Stephanie tries to say that she wants to avoid even the slightest chance that Brooke will throw herself at Ridge, but Brooke points out that she only sees Ridge at work, or when he comes to see the kids. She thinks that Stephanie is worried about Ridge throwing himself at her [Brooke], but Ridge wouldn't do that just over one little kiss. She has to wonder what else Taylor is done. Is Taylor having an affair with Hector behind Ridge's back? Brooke asks. Stephanie tells her to stop grasping at straws that Ridge will come back to her, but Brooke thinks it will be Ridge's decision what he can or can't live with. Stephanie says that even if Taylor made a mistake, Brooke will never be a better woman than Taylor.

Bridget tells Nick that he can talk to her about her mother.
Over at Nick and Bridget's beach house, Nick feeds his bride some soup and tea and tends to her every need. Bridget asks him what her mother said when she called. Nothing more than he already told her, Nick replies. Bridget wonders what her mom thinks Ridge's next move will be. Nick doesn't know and really doesn't even care. He just wants to focus on his wife and their unborn child right now. Bridget knows that and thanks him for being so attentive. She wants to give him something back for all that, so she tells him that he can be completely honest with her about her mother. Nick says that he'd tell her if he had something to say about her mother. Bridget says that she just wants him to know how much she trusts him; she knows he would never cheat on her or lie to her. At the same time, she knows that he once had powerful feelings for her mother that don't just go away overnight. She understands now that his love for her isn't supposed to replace what he felt for her mother or any of the other women in his life. Now that she gets that, she wants to share everything with him, even the hard parts. Nick admits that Brooke will always be in their lives, but he doesn't think he can ever look at Brooke as his mother-in-law. Bridget tells him she doesn't expect him to do that.

Nick shows concern at the idea of Ridge and Taylor's crumbling marriage.
Speaking of the devil, Brooke drops by to tell Nick and Bridget about her visit with Stephanie earlier. Bridget and Nick wonder if Stephanie wanted to talk to her about what she walked in on with Taylor. Brooke thinks it was, since Stephanie warned her to stay away from Ridge and not to tell him about Hector kissing Taylor. Brooke recalls how Stephanie insisted that it was just a kiss, but she has to wonder if it was something more. She got the feeling that Stephanie thought it was more when they talked earlier. Bridget asks Brooke if she thinks that Taylor has been fooling around behind Ridge's back, Brooke doesn't think so, but she got the feeling that Stephanie felt that there was. Bridget asks if Stephanie said anything. No, Brooke replies, but she thinks that the only thing that makes sense is that Stephanie fears Ridge and Taylor's marriage falling apart. Nick raises his eyebrows at that notion.

Brooke wonders if she was right or not, about Taylor having an affair.
Nick tries to leave the ladies to their gossip, but Bridget stops him. She thinks about all the names that Stephanie has called her mother over the years, and that makes her angry now that they know that Stephanie is covering for Taylor. Brooke has to wonder if she's been wrong all along; maybe there was no affair, and Stephanie just needed a punching bag. Bridget thinks there have been signs of Taylor's marriage to Ridge falling apart for a while, especially after Stephanie faked her heart attack. Bridget thinks that Taylor should have backed down once they knew the heart attack was an act. Brooke doesn't think they should hold Taylor responsible for Stephanie's lies, but Bridget disagrees, since she thinks Taylor robbed her mother, Hope and RJ of the chance to be a family. If only the kids... Nick starts. ...Could get their father back, Brooke agrees, wondering if things in that house are as bad as Stephanie makes them out to be. This could be a second chance for Brooke and Ridge, Bridget speculates as Nick and Brooke exchange looks.

At the Bel Air mansion, Ridge asks Taylor if she just said she had sex with James Warwick. Just that one time when they were trapped in the cabin, Taylor confirms. It wasn't making love, she qualifies. Ridge has to wonder why he is first hearing about this. Taylor says that she wanted to go back to how things used to be. She remembers how it was then, when she could tell him anything, but she lost that. Now she feels like she's just trying to make an impression around here, especially after Brooke took her place and raised her kids. She even sometimes wonders if the only reason she and Ridge got back together was because of a faked heart attack. She feels so alone and tells Ridge to go ahead and lash out at her. Ridge asks if she had feelings for James. She says that she didn't; James was just a friend and a colleague, she explains. She recalls how she and James thought they were going to die, especially given how bad James' injuries were. She guesses that the prospect of dying and what it made them say and do...

Ridge wonders if he can forgive Taylor.
Taylor sees Ridge is silent. He says that she still didn't answer why he is just hearing about this now,. She claims she was scared of losing him, since all through their history, he saw her as the kind of person who would never do what she did. She tried to tell him in a letter, but Stephanie intercepted it. Ridge is stunned that his mother knew, and more importantly, that his mother tried to protect Taylor and not him, by making it OK for her to have sex with another man. Taylor asks if he feels like she got away with something. Didn't she? he asks. He recalls how outraged she was that he still had feelings for Brooke; didn't it occur to her, when she expressed that outrage, that she had done worse? Taylor says that she put it completely out of her mind, but sometimes, at night, she'd be reminded of it. Ridge asks if she realizes that she condemned him for doing something that wasn't as bad as what she did, but she just said she wanted to put it out of her mind. Taylor admits it seems like a fantasy that he would forgive her, since he needs time. He's had plenty of time, he says, unable to understand why she even let Hector come up to this room. Still, she promised that it wouldn't happen again, so he's not going to make a big deal about the kiss. He tells her he's going to forgive her for the kiss itself. He comments that it must have been hard for her to hold back what happened. Taylor replies that she doesn't know, but she can say that she's never been unfaithful. Maybe not with James, Ridge says, but what about all the years of her being Taylor the good and the virtuous, holding them up to her impossible standard. He thinks about how she showed nothing but disdain and condescension toward Brooke, and that he can never forgive.
