Nick warns his mother to be prepared for anything.
Nick returns to Jackie's penthouse, where she prays that he didn't do anything to stop the wedding. Nick admits that intended to; he's not OK with the idea of her fiancee remarrying his ex-, who hates her, and he can't see how she'd be OK with it, either. She says he knows why... He says that he knows what she told him, but he still had to go over and say his piece. Eric told him to butt out, so he went over to see Felicia to tell her about her dad's engagement. But once he saw her, he realized how much seeing her parents together meant to her, so he couldn't tell her. Jackie tells him the right thing, but he still doesn't feel right about this deception. Jackie says it's not a deception, since she and Eric are just keeping their engagement from Felicia until... She pauses and points out that he saw how much reuniting her parents meant to Felicia. That's what bothers Nick; he saw how Felicia thought that there is some magical higher power at work here that will keep her parents together after tonight. He just wants his mother to be prepared for anything.

Jackie thoughtfully considers her son's words.

Jackie reassures Nick that she's aware of Eric and Stephanie's history. That's why she was wary of getting involved with Eric at first. She knows how hard it is to start with someone new after spending a lifetime with a woman and having children, even if they are fully grown now. Especially when those people have a dying daughter, Nick says. Jackie pauses and says she has faith in Eric. She points out that Eric knows how he hurt her when he married Brooke and isn't going to hurt her that way again. She believes in him and just wishes her son would, too. She looks at her engagement ring, on a chain around her neck. So she trusts Eric? Nick asks. He's a good man who will do the right thing, Jackie assures him. But Felicia has made this bigger, Nick frets, like she has some pull with the Big Guy in heaven, and he's honestly not sure she doesn't. Oh, really, Jackie says, but Nick says that stranger things have happened, especially with that family. He saw them together tonight, and it was almost like Felicia willed this to happen, because she knows something the rest of them don't. Jackie thoughtfully looks back at her ring.

Felicia makes a request of her family.
At the Forrester mansion, Thorne escorts Felicia into the living room. The room is lit with many candles. Stephanie embraces Felicia and asks if Bridget is coming. Felicia explains that Bridget still is resting in bed. Stephanie asks about Dominick; Felicia says he's with Bridget and Renee at the beach house. As they sit on the sofa, Felicia asks Stephanie if she noticed how dashing her groom looks. Stephanie admits she never said Eric wasn't handsome. Felicia thinks her mom never stopped loving her dad, even when she was furious with him. Eric pulls a chair in front of the sofa and sits facing Felicia and Stephanie; he takes Felicia's hand and asks if this what she had in mind. Felicia places her parents' hands together and says that it is now. Ridge, Thorne, Kristen and Darla stand behind Eric; Felicia looks up at them, smiling, and asks if they're having fun yet. As long as she is, Eric answers. Felicia tells them that tonight is about more than just a wedding. It's about them the miracle of them being together as a family. With them all dressed up this way, she feels like things are so formal, so she suggests that get comfortable and share stories to honor the bride and groom. Ridge scoffs at the idea of making speeches, but Felicia wants them to talk about how their parent affected their lives, and how they've taught them that they can do anything as a family.

Darla and Thorne share their recollections of the family.
Darla starts off by talking about how the Forresters always come together in the important times, like now. She credits Eric and Stephanie for instilling that in their children and thanks them for sharing that with her. Stephanie embraces her, thanking her for being a wonderful daughter in law. Eric adds his thanks for also giving them a beautiful granddaughter. Ridge says that Thorne is a lucky guy. They're all lucky, Thorne says, taking his turn to speak. He knows Felicia wants to be upbeat, but he has to say that he feels like a kid caught in the middle whenever his parents fight. That's why, whether tonight if the real deal or not, he's pleased by nights like this where his parents can get along. Eric and Stephanie tell him that they love him; they turn to look at all their kids, and Eric says, "We love all of you."

Kristen and Ridge each have something to say to their parents.
Kristen's next. As silly as this sounds coming from a grown woman, she admits that she sometimes wishes she was kid again, living in this house, because her parents always made her feel safe. She admits that she gets overwhelmed by her husband Tony's health (he's HIV+, for newer viewers), or from raising their son Zende (an African orphan they adopted after he lost his parents to AIDS), and she wishes she was living just around the corner instead of thousands of miles away (they moved to Florida several years ago). If she was close by, she could come right over, since she knows her parents can always make her feel like everything is OK without even saying a word. Embracing Kristen, Stephanie says, "We're always here for you, whenever you need us."
"Even when you don't want it," Ridge says. As everyone looks at him, he says that he can't be all warm and fuzzy like the rest of them. He has to be honest, because he remembers all the turmoil in this family. Eric says that this isn't the time, but Felicia says that Ridge is right. She knows her parents did their best, but... But, Ridge picks up, their mother has done many things to drive him crazy. But he's come to see that those acts came from a place of love. He also learned something else. As ripped off as he felt when he found out that Eric was not his real father, that didn't take away any of the special moments they spent together or make them less real. He knows that Eric was his father then and always will be. If his parents can't make a go of this, he asks, what hope is there for the rest of them? He embraces Stephanie, who thanks him, and then Eric as Felicia looks on, beaming.
Eric admits that when Felicia asked them to come together... He thought she was certifiable, Felicia jokes. Eric says he's glad he's had this chance to hear his kids talk about what this family means to them, since he never realized it, something he attributes to his not being around enough. While he was working, his lovely 'pain in the posterior' - he looks at Stephanie - planned all the birthdays and holidays. She's the one who created all those memories they shared tonight, he says, even though she's been waiting for years for him to acknowledge that. All their married life, Stephanie comments. Eric doesn't know why it took so long for him to see how much he missed as a father. Stephanie says that she they both made mistakes, and she regrets hers. If she had the chance, she'd listen more and be less heavy handed. She tells Eric that he brought a warmth to the family for their kids, like a comfortable old chair that they could always sink into. What are celebrations worth without that warmth? she asks.

Eric and Stephanie keep their word.
As Felicia just watches all this, still beaming, Ridge asks why this feels more like a family therapy session than a wedding. Everyone laughs. Thorne suggests they find Judge Bolan (who has been conspicuously missing since yesterday) and get this wedding started. Just then, the wind chimes on the terrace start to ring. Felicia looks at them knowingly and turns to her family. She says that what she wanted for tonight has already happened, so she's letting her parents off the hook. Sitting on the couch between them, she takes her parents hands and tells them that they should only get married tonight if it's what they really want. Eric and Stephanie look at each other, then at Felicia. Stephanie tells her daughter that they gave her their word, so they will go through with this, but heaven help them. Stephanie and Eric look at each other, as Felicia looks at their joined hands on her lap.
