Brooke tells Ridge that she never said there was no chance for them.
Brooke is sitting on her bed with Ridge, who wants to know if there is still a chance for them. Brooke replies that she never said there wasn't. But she hasn't been encouraging, he says. She thinks they both know why. It's because she's afraid that she'll be hurt if she opens her heart to him again, Ridge surmises. Brooke says there's more to it than that, but Ridge thinks there's a part of her that still misses him and wants back what they had. Brooke says that he may be right. He asks how he can convince her that he is, but she isn't sure he can, or even if she should take the risk. What risk? Ridge asks. The risk of putting herself in a position where she can lose the man she loves again, she replies, or of opening herself to that pain. If she can't be sure she's with a man who can commit to her forever... What if he was to make that commitment to her right now? Ridge asks. Brooke gets up; Ridge follows and puts his hands on her shoulders. He says that they love each other in a way that no two people ever have or ever will. But he wants to be clear about one thing: he doesn't want her if she's only coming back to him because she can't make a life with Nick, since he doesn't want her if her heart is somewhere else.

Ridge asks Brooke to believe in him "just once more."
Brooke walks away from Ridge and asks if he's wondering if she'll ever be over Nick. He says that he'll never understand what she had with Nick, but if she wants to be with Nick... What she wants, she says, is her daughter's happiness. And even though Bridget and Nick lost a little girl, she adds, they have a son to raise, just like she and Ridge do. She thinks that Nick and Bridget are a family, just like Ridge and she are. Are they a family? Ridge asks. Brooke walks over to him and says that he's RJ's father, and as much as he frustrates and angers her, she wants to trust him. But she still isn't sure he can trust his commitment to her, Ridge guesses. But he'll never stop reassuring her, Brooke admits. Ridge agrees; he says that he'll do whatever it takes, as long as it takes, as long as there's a chance to make things right with her and their family. Embracing her, he asks her to help him do that. He says that he feels like he could hold her this way forever; she looks at him, but then pulls away. He says that he has a million memories like this of their life together. As a song starts to play in the background, he asks her to dance with him and share those memories with him. As they dance, we see a montage of times Ridge and Brooke spent together: their first engagement, times spent together at Big Bear, Bridget's birth, their beach wedding, RJ's birth and their last wedding are among the moments relived. Ridge tells Brooke that he has so many memories, but none compare to this. He tells her that he has loved her all his life and always will.
[Note from Scott: The song Ridge and Brooke dance to is "Just Once More" by Ronn (Ridge) Moss, from his CD UNCOVERED. Only Ronn can say if it's a coincidence, but the lyrics are quite appropriate for the current story. Nick asks Bridget to let Dominick help them both.
Nick arrives at the beach house with Dominick. He apologizes to Bridget for being later than he expected. She says it's OK, since Taylor was here, and... She then sees Dominick and says that she didn't realize. Nick hopes it's OK; he thought Dominick could spend the night with him. Oh course, Bridget hesitantly says. Since it's late, they both think Dominick should be put to bed; Nick asks if she wants to help, but she tells him to go ahead and she'll check on the baby later. Nick puts Dominick down and returns to the living room, where Bridget apologizes for not helping him. Nick says that he's the one who should apologize. He thinks it's just too soon. He just wants her to remember that she's not alone in this, since he feels her pain, too. Nicole was a part of both of them, and he knows that Dominick can never replace her. But Dominick still needs them, and maybe they both need something else to think about than what they've lost. He thinks that helping this little boy will help them both.

Bridget doesn't know if she can be a real mother to Dominick.
Bridget says that she knows she's supposed to grieve and move on, and she's trying to do that. But even then, there are some moments where she feels overwhelmed by her loss, to the point where she wonders if she can care for Dominick right now. Nick says that he knows it will take time. But they don't have time, Bridget says, since Felicia is dying, and she's counting on them to raise her little boy when she's gone. Crying, she fears that she won;t be able to love Dominick like she's his real mother. Dominick starts crying, so Nick goes to check on him. He returns soon after with the baby boy; he says that Dominick couldn't sleep, so he thought he'd take the boy for a walk. Bridget tells Nick to let her hold him. Nick asks if she's sure. She says that she needs to try. Nick hands the baby to her. The baby starts fussing, so she holds him closer saying, "It's OK."

Felicia insists that Nick is her son's father.
At the Forrester mansion, Felicia insists to Dante and Taylor that Nick is Dominick's father, and that Nick and Bridget will raise him. Dante says that he's not backing down, because he needs to know if he fathered her baby. Felicia asks them to leave, but Taylor asks her to consider that Dominick will soon have only biological parent. She thinks it's important to know who the true father is, in case of medical emergencies. Felicia says that the baby is healthy; Taylor reminds her that she should know there are no guarantees in life. No matter who raises the baby, Taylor says, it's important to know who the biological father is. She offers to use her contacts at the hospital to get access to Dominick's blood work and have the test done discretely. She'll then have the samples processed quickly so they can have the results that night. Felicia is still unsure. Dante sits next to her and tells her that his conscience and heart won't let him walk away from this. Felicia says that she still thinks it's a waste of time. But she'll do it? Taylor asks. Dante puts his hand on Felicia's shoulder, but she pulls it away, not saying a word.
Dante is ready for the paternity test.
Soon after, they are in the hospital. Felicia fills out some forms while Dante paces nearby. Taylor approaches a lab tech and asks if he can have the results tonight. The tech says that they can, once he gets the sample he needs. Dante comes over and offers either arm; the tech explains that they can get a sample from the blood, or by swabbing inside a cheek. Dante asks if they need a sample from Felicia too. The tech says that they can test without the mother, but since she's here... Felicia appears in the doorway and asks them not to talk about her like she's not there. All she cares about is accuracy, she says, not that she has any doubt about who the real father is. Felicia pauses; Taylor asks her if she's having second thoughts about the test.
Taylor reviews the test results with the lab tech.
As they wait for the results, Felicia talks to Dante. She knows he has issues with Nick, but she thinks he also knows how caring and compassionate Bridget is. Bridget may be dealing with the loss of a child, but... Dante agrees that Bridget would never abandon Dominick. Felicia asks if Dante intends to raise the baby with Bridget if he's the father. Dante says he didn't think about that, but he wonders what would be so terrible if that happened, especially given that he loves Bridget. But Bridget and Nick are married, Felicia reminds him. Dante says that Nick only married Bridget because of the baby. He still thinks Nick loves Brooke more than Bridget. Felicia tells him to stop; she can't wait for the test results to show that Nick is the father, so he can raise that child with Bridget. That's the way it has to be. Meanwhile, Taylor goes over the results with the lab tech, who offers to let Taylor tell Felicia and Dante. Taylor takes the results and brings them to the waiting room. She tells Dante and Felicia that there is no doubt now about who Dominick's biological father is. Felicia asks Taylor to please tell her who it is. Taylor looks at the printout, which has Dominick, Felicia and Dante's names on it, as Felicia and Dante took to her for an answer.
