Dr. Caspary says that she has to deliver Bridget's baby.
Felicia is still with Bridget in the hospital, where the nurse checks Bridget out. The nurse tells Bridget that she's doing fine; her BP, pulse and temperature are all normal and her contractions under control. Felicia offers to leave so Bridget can rest, but Bridget wants her half-sister to stay, if she's up to it. Felicia reminds Bridget that there's a bunch of Forresters and Marones waiting outside to see her, but Bridget says that Felicia is her sister. Felicia thinks all the folks outside prove how much someone in the room is loved. Bridget agrees that her baby is lucky to have all that love, but Felicia says she was talking about Bridget. Suddenly, Bridget cries out in pain. The nurse goes to get Dr. Caspary, who is with Eric, Massimo and Thorne in the hall. The doctor excuses herself and rushes to Bridget's side. Bridget asks for more meds to stop the contractions, but the doctor says it's too late. Bridget's water has broken, the doctor explains, so they have no choice but to remove the stitch from her cervix and let nature take it's course..

Brooke takes baby Dominick so Nick can rush to the hospital.
Nick is with Dominick at the beach house, getting some things for Bridget; he remembers to take the baby blanket Bridget knitted. He then tells Dominick what a great big brother will be, which gives him character. Brooke enters just in time to overhear; she says that Dominick must have character, since he's a Marone. She apologizes for intruding; she just came by to get some things for Bridget but sees that Nick has done that already. Nick tells her that she doesn't need to worry about intruding. He just wanted to get some things to make Bridget comfortable, since they don't know how long she'll be in the hospital. But she is OK? a concerned Brooke asks. Nick asks if she thinks he'd leave his wife if she wasn't OK. After all, he promised Brooke he'd take care of Brooke and he will. Just like he takes care of Dominick here, Brooke says, sitting with them. Nick recalls how crushed he was when he found out that RJ wasn't his son. Now he feels blessed, since he has a son and his daughter is on the way. He thinks they better get to the hospital. As he gathers Bridget's things, the phone rings: it's Eric, who tells Nick that the doctor just rushed into Bridget's room. It doesn't look good, so he thinks Nick should hurry back. Nick hangs up and tells Bridget that there's a problem at the hospital. She tells him to go; she'll take care of Bridget's things and Domnick. Nick rushes out.

Felicia is by Bridget's side during Bridget's tragic loss.
In the hospital, Dr. Caspary prepares to cut the stitch, as a frantic Bridget pleads that it's too soon. The doctor says they have to do this, before the suture tears through Bridget's cervix. Felicia tells Bridget that it's time to let Nicole come into the world. Bridget insists she isn't ready, but Felicia says she is. She tells Bridget that she heard that preemies can survive as early as 22 weeks. But it's only a 10% chance, Bridget frets. Felicia tries to comfort Bridget, who finally relents. Some more doctors and nurses come into the room to help Dr. Caspary with the delivery. Within a short time, the stitch is cut and the Dr. asks for the scissors. Bridget worries that she doesn't hear the baby crying. She frantically asks if her baby is OK as the doctors surround the baby. As Dr. Caspary counts to 3, Bridget asks what's going on. When the doctors stop their frantic activity, Bridget realizes what's happened and cries out, "No!" Dr. Caspary walks over and softly tells her that she's sorry. As a nurse starts to take the baby out of the room, Bridget calls out that she wants to see her daughter. The doctor nods her approval, so the nurse takes the baby to Bridget, who cradles the lifeless child and tells her that she's so sorry. She doesn't know what she did wrong, she sobs, but she wants Nicole to know that mommy will always lover her.

Thorne and Massimo want some answers.
As a nurse exits Bridget's room, Massimo stops her and asks what's going on. Before the nurse can answer, Eric comes over and asks about his daughter. The nurse says they'll have to talk to the doctor. Thorne tries to calm his father, who gets agitated at the lack of answers. Dr. Caspary comes out; Eric, Thorne and Mass all approach her, as she quietly and solemnly gives them the bad news. Nick arrives and calls out to Eric; he can tell from the look on Eric's face that's something's wrong, so he bolts to Bridget's room. When Felicia sees that Nick is there, she kisses Bridget on the forehead and leaves, so Nick and Bridget can be alone.

Eric gives Jackie the bad news.
Back in the hallway, Felicia sits in her wheelchair again as Jackie arrives. Mass and Thorne ask Felicia what happened, since they thought everything was going well. Felicia says that she doesn't know, since it all happened so suddenly. Jackie laments her son and daughter-in-law's loss. Brooke arrives with Dominick and asks what's wrong. Eric gives her the news about the baby and hugs her, as she cries about what their daughter must be going through. Nick is with her now, Eric tells Brooke.

Nick tries to comfort Bridget.
Nick walks over and holds Bridget as she starts to cry again. He tells her that he never would have left if he'd known that this could have happened. Bridget asks what she did wrong. Nick assures her that it's not her fault. Bridget tells him about the delivery; he says that's he's sorry, as he should have been there. Bridget tells him that she kept hoping that their daughter would open her eyes, even for just a minute, so she could see how much she she was loved. She starts to cry, going on about how she's lost her baby. She doesn't know what's happened to her baby. Felicia, sitting in her wheelchair holding Dominick, says, "I'll find her and take care of her." Just like Bridget will be taking care of Dominick, Felicia promises to take care of Nicole. Felicia hands Dominick to Nick, who hands him to Bridget. Bridget holds the baby boy and starts to cry again.
