Hope is fascinated by the monkeys in her backyard.
Brooke and Ridge are still in the tropical paradise he made in her backyard. He admits that this may be much, but he wanted to remind Brooke of what they felt on their wedding day. She tells him that the trees and oceans and animals weren't what made her fall in love with him. It was he, or at least, the man she thought he was then, that made her fall for him, but that man left the day her walked out on her and the kids. She walks away, but Ridge follows. He tells her again that she has every right to be furious, since leaving her was the biggest mistake of his life. He puts his hands on her shoulders and she turns to face him; he tells her that she's so damned sexy, even when he's angry, and that makes him want her even more. He looks at her and tells her that they belong together. Not anymore, she says. Just then, Hope comes running in, followed by Catherine and RJ. Ridge tells Brooke that he asked Catherine to bring the kids down, because this is for them as well as for her. Hope asks why the monkeys are here. Ridge tells her that her mother and he were married in a place like this, and he wanted her and RJ to see the place where he and their mommy promised to love each other forever. That day was a new beginning for him and Brooke, and he hopes today will be a beginning for all of them.

Ridge asks Brooke to tell him that their dream isn't dead.
After Catherine takes the kids back to the house, Ridge approaches Brooke and says that the kids loved it. They love him, she says. He senses a "but" coming. But they've been here already, Brooke says. She, Hope and RJ had to find a way to keep going when he chose his "other family" over them, and it was painful. Calling her "Logan," Ridge tells her that he sees now just how much he hurt her. It was devastating, she says. She recalls that they had the dream he told Hope about tonight, the perfect family that most people don't even get in their lifetimes. But then he tore it up and threw it away, and the dream died. She walks away, but Ridge again follows and sits down beside her. He tells her that he's sorry that he never knew how much he hurt her until now. He never should have left her, and wants to correct that now. Brooke tells him that he can't just come in here and sweep her off her feet, hoping that she'll forget what he did to her, because she'll never forget. She again walks away; Ridge follows yet again, saying that what they have can't die. He won't believe their dream is dead, and he is praying to God that it isn't. Brooke turns to him and says that she's heard that so many times before. She's sorry, but she's not ready for this now. Ridge hears the word "now" and hopes that she's saying she might be ready in the future. He begs her to tell him that there's some hope here, but she says that she doesn't know and walks away.

Thomas worries about his mother.
Thomas comes home to get a bag so he can go camping at the beach with friends, and he finds hi mother sitting in a chair, looking devastated. He tells her that he can't believe that it's over and hugs her. He admits that he's so angry at his father for what he did that he wants to punch Ridge, scream at him and ask what he's doing. Taylor says that it's going to be OK. Thomas tells her that when she was gone, and when Brooke was... He stops, so Taylor finishes the sentence, saying, "...a mother to you." Thomas nods and admits that even since she's been back, his dad hasn't been fully there with them. Taylor nods. Thomas says that he knows that his dad loves them and always will, but he also loves Brooke. And RJ, Taylor adds. Thomas suggests that maybe it's better this way for all of them in the long run. Taylor nods and smiles at him. Thomas then offers to cancel his plans and stay with her, but she tells him to go with his friends. But his sisters are at boarding school, he reminds her, and he's always on campus. He worries about her. She tells him not to worry. She wants him to be an example to her and go out with his friends. Thomas gives her a hug, takes his bag and leaves.

Taylor reflects on her marriage.
Taylor sits alone, calling out Ridge's name. She pours herself come more wine and wanders around, holding the glass and bottle in hand and calling her home a mausoleum. She thinks she needs some music, so she puts down the bottle and turns on some rock music on the stereo. The phone rings; she first picks up the stereo remote, but then throws it down and finds the phone. Hector is on the line; he says he was about to give up because she didn't answer and asks if she's out. Go out? she asks. Where? Hector asks if Thomas is there. She says that Thomas left, so she's all alone, dancing and listening to music. Hector wants to come over, but Taylor tells him that she likes being alone. She then admits that it sucks, but she guesses that she has to get used to it. She thanks him for his concern, but she wants him to know that she's fine. She promises to call him later and ends the call. She then looks at herself in a mirror as she takes another sip of wine and says that she's PERFECT! She starts to cry as she looks herself in the mirror and runs her hand through her hair. She then thinks back to times with Ridge: him proposing in St. Thomas. Their wedding. Their reunion at her grave-site. Her telling Ridge that it doesn't have to end, but his telling her that he's sorry. She goes to pour some wine, but the bottle is empty, so she throws it the fireplace and starts to cry.

Nick has an amusing idea for a name for his daughter.
At the beach house, Bridget lights some candles. Nick comes in and asks what's going on, since she's supposed to stay off her feet. She says that she isn't taking any risks with their child, but she wanted a romantic evening with her husband, so she ordered in from Cafe Russe. This way, they get to enjoy the food from there without the crowds. Very nice, Nick says, helping his wife get seated. She then admits that she had a reason for this dinner. She wants to talk about naming their daughter. Nick recalls her family's tradition of taking the parents' names and tossing them together, like they did with her name when they thought Ridge was her father. So if you combine Nick and Bridget, he supposes, you get "Nicket." [Note from Scott: Nicket is one of the nicknames used by Internet fans of Nick and Bridget for the couple.] Bridget laughs and says they'll keep that as an option, but she has another idea. She thinks their daughter's name should reflect the qualities she loves in him, so she suggests they name their daughter Nicole. She then shows him the blanket she's been knitting, which has the name "Nicole" sewn into it. Nick holds the blanket and considers the name, deciding that he likes it. With everything they've found in their love for each other, she says, she can't imagine not naming their baby after him.

Nick rushes Bridget to the hospital.
Nick asks Bridget if she picked out a middle name. She says they can discuss that over his favorite dessert, chocolate souffle. She wanted tonight to be memorable. She did, Nick says. They start to clean the table, but she has a sudden twinge of pain. Nick asks what's wrong. Bridget replies that it's just a bit of indigestion. Maybe they should have ordered from Chuck's, Nick says. Bridget clears some plates but then drops them when she feels the pain again. Seeing that his wife is in pain, Nick picks her up and rushes her to the hospital, where Dr. Caspary is waiting. Bridget tells her contractions have started. She had one in the car, Nick says. The doctor rushes Bridget to an exam room for a pelvic exam and some other tests. Bridget says it's way too early. The doctor tells Bridget not to get ahead of herself and asks her to calm down. Bridget says that they they need to make sure to do everything they can. Bridget then calls out in pain to Nick, saying again that it's too soon.
