At the Forrester mansion, Felicia is with Taylor and Stephanie. Stephanie asks Taylor if Dante would work something out about the baby. Taylor hopes Stephanie isn't asking her to deprive Dante of his child, because she won't do it. Stephanie says that she isn't trying to deprive anyone of anything. Felicia reminds them that Dante's claim to Dominick consists of a few sweaty hours in a too small hotel bed over a year ago, so he's not thinking about what's best for her son. Stephanie thinks they have to at least recognize that Dante is respecting the service today, as she doesn't think Bridget could take much more. They all look to the living room, where Ridge hugs Bridget. Bridget wonders what can be keeping Nick. Brooke wonders if the baby needed changing, so Bridget goes to check. Ridge asks Brooke if Bridget is OK. Thank God for her husband and that little baby, Brooke replies.

At the guest house, Nick demands to know what Dante meant when he said that Dominick is not his [Nick's] son. Dante explains that he and Felicia met in Nice, when Felicia was heartbroken over breaking up with Nick; he's sure Felicia told Nick that, but he guesses that he remembers more about night than Felicia does. He then tells Nick that he did the math, asking Nick if it ever occurred to him that Dominick was a bit late to be Nick's. Nick says this is about more than just math. He thinks Dominick's mother would know who the father is. Dante says that Felicia didn't know until he came to her and asked her to have a DNA test, and he invites Nick to confirm that with Felicia. Nick doesn't believe any of this. Dante tells him to ask Taylor, since she was with them when they did the test. He knows this is hard on Nick, and he was hoping not to say anything today. He just wanted to spend time with his son. Bridget comes in and sees Dante; surprised, she asks Dante where Dominick is. He's asleep, Dante replies. Nick tells Bridget to go back to the house, but she won't leave while the two men are fighting. No one is fighting, Nick says. Then what's the problem? Bridget asks.

Dante tells Bridget he has something to tell her, but Nick cuts him off and says they should get back to the house. Dante ignores Nick and tells Bridget that he came to see her in the hospital when she lost Nicole, to make sure she was OK. She says that no one told her. Why would they? he asks; after all, he's not family, and he and Nick don't get along. Still, he felt like he was part of Nicole's life, even if he really wasn't, so he hands an envelope to Bridget. It contains a mass card, like they give in Italy after a loss; it reads, "In Memory of Nicole Marone." Bridget thanks him and kisses him on the cheek. She asks if he's coming to the service, but he thinks it's best if he stays there. OK, Bridget says. She still wants Dominick at the service, and she's not sure why Felicia didn't want him there. Maybe Felicia thought the baby would be disruptive, Dante suggests. Bridget still thinks it's important that Nicole's brother is at her service, so she goes to get Dominick as Nick and Dante exchange glares.

Jackie points out that Stephanie hasn't called her a slut today.
At the mansion, Darla asks where Bridget is. She went to the guest house to check on Nick, Ridge replies. Nick's in the guest house? Felicia asks. Ridge says that Bridget wanted Dominick at the service. Eric thinks it's a testament to Nick and Bridget, and to Felicia, at how completely Nick and Bridget have welcomed that boy into their lives. Across the room, Jackie invites Stephanie for bringing them together. Stephanie wishes she could say she's glad to see Jackie, but she isn't. Jackie points out that she's been there almost an hour and Stephanie hasn't called her a slut. Some things are so obvious that you really don't need to comment on them, Stephanie retorts. Just then, Bridget, Nick and Dominick come in. As Bridget apologizes for taking so long, Nick glares at Felicia and whispers for her to tell him that Dante is lying. Bridget thanks everyone for being so patient and wants to get started.

Darla and Thorne step up first, with Darla speaking for them. She has a a sprig of lilac with her and explains how the smell of lilac is so sweet, and it stays in air so long. She tells them that their neighbor has some lilac that blooms once a year, and Darla always looks forward to that wonderful fragrance to reach her kitchen window. When that time comes each year, she states, she'll remember Nicole.

Massimo presents his tribute to Nicole.
Next is Massimo. He says that he, like his son Dominick, is fascinated by the the sea and its mysteries. He thinks that's natural, since the sea is the mother of them all, as attested by the salt in their blood. He thinks most of them know that he owns a couple of racing vessels, and that he gets excited watching them skim over the waves. He places a framed photo of one of his racing boats on the table and says that as of this moment, this two-masted cutter will be named after his granddaughter, The Nicole.

Next is Jackie, who has brought rosemary. She explains that at the prim girl's school she attended, they were taught that rosemary stood for remembrance and ancient tradition, because it can survive wind, drought and all kinds of neglect. Even when it's dried, it never loses it's pungency or it's power, just as memory never does.

Next is Ridge, who holds up a necklace, an "ancient artifact" that he found in his old room. He jokingly asks if they could imagine that he actually thought this was cool to wear in college. But he wasn't the one who saved this necklace, he explains. He looks to Bridget and asks if she remembers this. She smiles and nods. When she played house here as a kid, Ridge explains, Bridget would wear this necklace, claiming that it made her "mommy." Even though Nicole is gone now, he states, Bridget is now a mother, for real and forever, and he brought this necklace so that Nicole would know that when Bridget was a kid, she dreamed of Nicole.

Stephanie and Eric present their reminder of Nicole.
Next is Stephanie and Eric. Floribunda Rosa Nicole, Stephanie says. Eric explains that yesterday, he and Stephanie planted that rose bush in the garden. Stephanie says that it's not a very old rose as roses go, and it's not as old as Bridget. Eric adds that it's petals are white, with a deep red edge. He shows them a picture of how it will look when it blooms and says that every time they see this Nicole, they'll see their Nicole.

The family is moved by the memorial service.
Everyone is nearly in tears as Bridget steps up, holding Dominick. She tells them that she doesn't know what to say; she's so overwhelmed by their gifts and thoughts and their love. She points to a vase with flowers and explains, in case they wondered, why there isn't any water in the vase. It's because they're going to dry them. And some day, when Dominick is old enough, she and Nick will show him the flowers and all these gifts, and they'll tell him about Nicole. This sweet boy will never be afraid of the dark or monsters under his bed, she says, because he'll always have a guardian angel looking after him. Even though Nicole never took a breath or a step, and she never even saw their faces, Bridget thinks that Nicole knew her more intimately than anyone ever has, and she knew Nicole the same way. She knows Nicole was never far enough away from God to really need their prayers, but she found a prayer and she wants to read it. Nick takes the baby and brings her a book; she reads from the book:

May God hold and keep Nicole.
Her light was extinguished before the world could see it,
but not before sharing its warmth with me.
For the time that she lived,
we tried to give her everything parents could,
and we received more than we ever could have expected.
May the purity of her brief life, without transgression,
be always before us.
May the memory of the joy she brought
give us all strength and comfort.

Bridget turns to Nick, who is still holding Dominick. He tries to find the words, finally saying that there's nothing good about losing a child. It's like a sharp knife has been driven into you, and you're just hollow. You're supposed to live the rest of your life that way, hollow and empty. But his wife shouldn't have to go through this. You tell someone that you love them, he says, and that you're going to protect them, but you can't. You try and you try, but you really can't do a damn thing. He tells Brooke to take the boy, as he needs a minute, and he leaves the room.

Nick tells Felicia that he can't raise another man's son.
Felicia follows Nick into the study; she asks him to please believe that she had no idea that Dominick was not his son. She never considered any other possibility. Bridget loved that boy, he says, and so does he. Felicia asks if anything has to change, as Dominick is still the same child. He's another man's son, Nick says, and that's what he'll see when he looks at him. Felicia says that she still wants her son with him and Bridget. He asks how that can be, since Dante won't turn that boy over to them. Dante probably feels like he finally has something that's all his, Nick guesses. Not if she can help it, Felicia replies. Nick angrily says that she can't help what's happened, she can't help Bridget's feelings. Softly, he says that his wife just lost their daughter, and now she also has to lose a son.

Bridget asks what's on Dante's mind.
Bridget brings Dominick back to the guest house to put him down and finds Dante there. He asks how the memorial was. It was beautiful, she says. Dante offers to watch the baby, not that he needs her to go. Bridget comments that he's been spending a lot of time with Felicia. They have a history, he says. She says that she thought they barely knew each other. It doesn't have to be long to be meaningful, he says, pointing to their own relationship as an example. She apologizes for being nosy, but he says that she can ask him anything. He hopes she knows he would never purposely hurt her. Of course, she replies. He thinks she knows he loves her; she looks like she doesn't want to talk about this, but he says that it's too late to be shy about it. Bridget doesn't know what to say. He tells her that he feels happy that he gets to spend time with her, but he's also sad that she's hurting inside, and she's going to be hurting for a while. She says she'll be OK, as she has Nick and Dominick. And she'll always have him, he adds. She says she appreciates that and asks if he's trying to tell her something. Maybe he is, he replies. Then what is it? Bridget asks.
