Stephanie asks Brooke's what's crazy about wanting her happy.
At Brooke's house, Brooke shows Stephanie to the door, annoyed at Stephanie's latest insane idea. Stephanie asks Brooke's what's crazy about wanting her happy. Brooke thinks the idea of Stephanie asking her to take her daughter's husband is even crazier than Stephanie coming over with a gun and asking her to shoot herself, since she knows Stephanie doesn't give a damn about her. Just then, Ridge arrives and asks what's going on. Brooke tells him that his mother wants her to steal Bridget's husband away. Ridge is shocked! Stephanie asks if he'd agree that Brooke would be happy with Nick. Ridge thinks his mother is nuts. Brooke tell him that Stephanie would do anything to make sure she [Brooke] didn't want to him. She explains to him about Felicia and Dante. Ridge is surprised. What's important, Brooke says, is that Felicia and Dante didn't have a commitment, so she thinks Felicia should be the one to decide who raises her son. And Felicia wants that to be Nick and Bridget. But Dante isn't going away, Stephanie cautions. Ridge asks what this has to do with him and Brooke, reminding his mother that he told her to stop interfering in his life. Stephanie says that she doesn't want him to have a marriage to Brooke like his father just had. Ridge tells her that he doesn't want to hear anything from her unless she plans to support Brooke and him raising their son together. If that's what he wants, Stephanie asks, then why hasn't it happened yet, given all his efforts since leaving Taylor. Brooke says it's none of Stephanie's business, but Stephanie thinks Ridge has to realize deep down that Brooke has moved on to "Destiny, Part II", a.k.a Nick.

Brooke doesn't see how Stephanie would know what she wants, but Stephanie thinks she knows Brooke better than anyone. Brooke says that Stephanie THINKS she knows, but she's wrong. She refuses to steal her daughter's husband, especially after Bridget and Nick lost a child. Stephanie says that Bridget has already lost Nick. She admits Nick is trying to be a good husband, but he's doing it out of love for Brooke, not Bridget. Brooke says that Stephanie doesn't really care about Nick's happiness or hers; she knows the Forrester matriarch's only goal is to get her together with Nick, to keep her from ever reuniting with Ridge, and Stephanie would push Bridget and Dante together to make that happen. Stephanie asks Ridge if he buys anything Brooke is saying. Ridge says that he'd like to know why she's even here, trying to give Brooke advice that Brooke obviously won't take. Stephanie thinks someone has to advise Brooke. She then tells Brooke that this "sacrifice" of hers has already been destructive, since Bridget is stuck in a marriage with a man who, at best, gives her a parental interest, while that poor dumb SOB Nick is miserable doing his duty by Brooke. She asks Ridge if he wants to join that casualty list. Brooke accuses Stephanie of having an unconsummated romance with her oldest son, where she still wishes Ridge were a babe on her lap, But since Ridge is a grown man, Brooke suggests, Stephanie fawns on women like beautiful, perfect Taylor being in Ridge's life, since it's the closest Stephanie will ever get to being in bed with Ridge herself!

Ridge stands by Brooke and stands up to his mother.
Stephanie asks Ridge if he's going to let Brooke, the woman who slept her way through her family, talk to her this way. Brooke says she's had it with lines like that. If the Forrester men came running to her, she says, it was to get as far away from Stephanie as they possibly could, since they'd found a woman who was nothing like Stephanie! Brooke tells Ridge he has a choice: he can get off the fence and stand by her and their children, or he can let his mommy take him home and tuck him in. Ridge asks his mother if honoring his parents is in the Ten Commandments. He knows it is, she replies. Then they might as well haul him off to hell, he says, since he's tired of her lying and nagging to control his life. Stephanie tells him to forget about her and think about the fact that Brooke only wants him because she refuses to break up her daughter's marriage. Brooke is stunned. Ridge reminds his mother that she is no relation to Bridget, so she can't use her current excuse of acting "for the good of the family" this time. Stephanie tells him to consider his own happiness. Ridge thinks he has a way to test that, even though he didn't expect to have an audience for it. He then walks over to Brooke and tells her that he wants their life back. He pulls out a ring box, opens it and asks Brooke one more time if she will be his wife.

Bridget is stunned that Dante would want her to raise his son with him.
Bridget is still at Dante's, telling him that she can't raise his son with him, since she's married. Legally, he says. And in every other way, she says. She tells him that she and Nick have never wavered in their promise to raise Dominick. Dante is sad, since he thinks she has to see that she doesn't have a marriage without his son. She assures him that Nick loves her. But does he love her the way a husband should love a wife? he asks. If friendship is enough to start a family on, he asks, then why can't she start one with him and raise his son? Bridget is saddened that he would use his son as leverage with her. She asks him to think about what's best for Dominick. Dante asks how he can be sure, if he allows her and Nick to adopt Dominick, that they'll still be together in a year. Bridget tells him to think about all she and Nick have been through. He says that he has. He knows that she's not the scared girl he met in Rome, because loving Nick has made her stronger - maybe strong enough to walk away.

Dante explains himself to Bridget.
Bridget tells Dante that she came here to discuss Dominick, but all he wants is to tell her to end her marriage. Dante suggests that she leave before he says something that might hurt her. She says that she just wants to discuss alternatives. Dante says that he doesn't have all the answers. How can he, Bridget asks, if he just found out he's a father? Dante assures her that he's just making room for his son in his heart and his life. But he's juggling two careers, Bridget says, and the face that might become most familiar to his son could be a nanny's. Dante tells her that she and Nick have money, so why don't they go door to door to find a family that thinks the two of them can raise that family's child better than its own family. Bridget apologizes for offending him, but she reminds him that this is not just some child. It's her sister's child, Felicia asked her and Nick to raise the boy, while his only connection to Felicia and that child is the night Dominick was conceived. But that's the essential connection, he says. Besides, he isn't sure that Nick would even want to adopt Dominick. Bridget says that Nick loves the boy, but Dante thinks Nick just wants a son named after him. Bridget sees this is going nowhere and asks Dante to just think about this. She thinks she, Nick and he all want what's best for Dominick, so she thinks they should focus on that. Sure, he says. She thanks him and tells him she's going to call him later as she leaves.

Nick tells Jackie about Dominick's paternity.
At the beach house, Nick tells Jackie about Dominick's paternity. Jackie is sorry for his son, since he just lost Nicole, and even RJ and Hope before that. She asks if his and Bridget's plans to raise Dominick have changed. Everything has changed, he says, since Dante will not want him to raise Dominick - and frankly. he's not even sure if he wants to. Jackie suggests that he get away from the house and get something to eat, but he tells her that Dominick is asleep in the bedroom. He wonders if he should take the baby home to Felicia, before Bridget gets too attached to him. Jackie asks if Dante has said that he will take the boy from them. Dante doesn't have to say it, Nick replies, because he calls the shots as the father. Nick refuses to sit around hoping for something that won't happen, since he can't go through that disappointment again, and he certainly doesn't want Bridget to either. Just then, Bridget gets home. She greets Jackie, who tells Nick that she'll be going now. Bridget goes to check on Dominick. Once Bridget is gone, Jackie tells Nick that whatever happens, Dominick will be fine. The question, she asks, is will Bridget? Or will he? she adds, whispering?

Nick tells Bridget that he can't raise another man's child.
After Jackie leaves, Bridget returns. She tells Nick that she never saw Dante like she did tonight. Dante never had so much at stake, he says. He thinks he knows how Dante feels, having lived it. Bridget insists they can work something out with Dante. Nick asks if Dante asked her to raise the child with him. Her silence leads Nick to ask if she was surprised. Bridget thinks Dante was just so unprepared for all this. She thinks the word adoption just scared him. Nick says it scares him, too. Bridget thinks they can show Dante why Felicia wanted them to raise Dominick, but Nick doesn't want to do it. She committed to raising his son Dominick, he states, but since he has no son, there is no commitment. Bridget disagrees; she says that a paternity test doesn't erase Dominick's needing them. What Dominick needs, Nick says, is a home, and he'll have one. It just won't be with them, since he cannot raise another man's child. Bridget is stunned. She knows this has been hard on them all and suggests that they sleep on it, but Nick doesn't think a night's sleep will make them understand each other. He tells her that he doesn't feel right keeping Dominick from his father. Bridget says that Dante will need help, so he'll be open to an arrangement where the boy could live with them. But for how long? Nick wonders, asking how long it will be before Dante changes his mind. Bridget says that it's better than giving up, but Nick thinks he is just facing reality.

Bridget can't believe that he is turning his back on their son. He's not THEIR son, Nick reminds her. But they can have a son someday, he says. Maybe they can, Bridget says, but she still doesn't know why she can't love Dante, no matter where his DNA came from, or why Nick can't. Nick says that he could, but for the fear that Dante and a judge could knock on their door someday and end it all, reopening all the old wounds. Bridget thinks he'd do it if he was committed to their marriage. He asks if she's questioning his commitment. No, she says, because she thinks they are both committed to the marriage they want to have. Dominick and Nicole stood for that marriage, she says, as the glue holding it together. But now she fears that there's no more glue. Nick looks at her and considers her words.
