Bridget worries about the baby.
In the hospital, Nick tells the nurse that Bridget thinks the dosage of her medication has to be increased. As the nurse offers to call the doctor, Bridget cries out in pain. Nick rushes to her side and holds her hand as she cries out that it's too soon! She has another contraction. Nick tries to calm her. Bridget tells the nurse to increase the medication now. Nick tells her to let the medication do its work. If she has another contraction within the hour, she frets, the medication won't stop the labor, and there could be serious complications if the baby is born now. She tries to read a textbook, but Nick takes it away and tells her to rest. He knows she likes to call the shots, but they're being called by a higher power tonight. Bridget says she's been praying; Nick tells her that the higher power is their daughter getting impatient to join them. Either that, or the baby didn't like escargot, he jokes, wondering if they should have ordered wings from Chuck's instead. That would have been too spicy, Bridget frets. The point, Nick says, is that their baby wants to be born happy and healthy, so she has to take it easy and let the medication work. What if it doesn't? she asks. Nick tells her to relax. He won't let the baby or her beautiful, smart, sexy mom down. "Sexy? Right," Bridget replies. Nick says that pregnant women ARE sexy, even after they give birth, like she'll do in a few months. And one day, when Nicole is old enough, they'll tell her how much she scared them today. Nicole will tell them they worry too much, he predicts, and she'll be right.

Nick tries to get Bridget's mind off things.
Nick asks Bridget how her placenta feels. She says she can't feel it, so Nick alerts the nurse, but Bridget tells him that she's not supposed to be able to feel it. Nick admits that he's still confused by all this medical jargon. He mentions her evasive cervix; that's effaced, she corrects him. He quips that she wouldn't know what he was talking about if they were on a tanker, although this reminds him of when a tanker springs leak. And like any good sailor, he knows how to fix a leak, so he asks the nurse for duct tape! Bridget tells the nurse to ignore her crazy husband. Well, he quips, she married him. She jokes that she could always trade him in. Before she does, Nick has a confession to make, more like a secret desire, and he hopes it doesn't affect how she sees him as a father. Bridget asks what it is. Even though he runs this big shipping company, he replies, he's just a silly sailor who wants to do stand-up comedy. Bridget laughs; she says that she knows he's just being silly to distract her and she loves him for it. She then asks how long it's been since her last contraction. Twenty two minutes, he says. And she never had a fifth contraction, Bridget realizes. Nick turns to the nurse, who checks Bridget out and says that she's stabilizing. As the nurse goes to tell the doctor, Nick kisses Bridget and tells her how they and their baby are in this together. That's why they need to hold onto each other, since they can get through anything together.

Hector has another fantasy about Taylor.
Hector is asleep in his living room, dreaming that he and Taylor have just returned from a homeless shelter. As they sit on the couch, she gushes about how good it feels to have a purpose in life. That's just one of the things that she realized since he saved her. She feels better than she has in years and has him to thank, because he saved her from a marriage that wasn't working. Hector pushes her back on the couch and kisses her. Back in reality, Hector smiles, until a sound from the television wakes him from his dream and he sees that she's still all alone.

Taylor cries over the end of her marriage.
Taylor is in her living room, sweeping up the broken glass from the champagne bottle she threw. She sees some photos of her and Ridge and turns them down and then goes behind the couch, crying. After turning some more photos down, she picks one of Ridge up, sobs and throws it to the floor, breaking the glass. She then picks the picture up and holds it in one hand, holding a wine glass in the other. As she takes a few sips, the phone rings. She answers and it's Hector, who doesn't feel good about leaving her alone earlier. She says that she's not alone, as she's with "Mr. Chardonnay." Hector says he worries about her and wants to come over. Taylor says she was going to the Cafe Russe for a bite to eat. Hector doesn't want her driving after drinking and offers to pick her up, but she says that she's lousy company now. She promises to call him later, says goodnight and hangs up. Hector calls out her name to the dead line, waiting for her to answer. Meanwhile, Taylor grabs her coat and purse, gets in her car and drives off.

Thomas tells Ridge that Taylor needs their help.
Ridge is in Thorne's office, looking at a photo of Brooke, when Thomas drops in. Thomas tells his dad that his mom is falling apart, and he needs Ridge to fix things. Ridge says he can't. Thomas asks why. Ridge moves to the desk, where he placed the photo of Brooke. Thomas picks the photo up and asks his dad if he's so damned in love with Brooke that no one else matters, including Taylor. Ridge tells Thomas that he has to understand something. Thomas says he gets that Ridge has a connection to Brooke in RJ. Which doesn't lessen his feelings for Thomas or his sisters, Ridge says. Thomas says he gets that, but he doesn't have to like it. So he wants things to go back to how they were? Ridge asks. Hell, yes! Thomas replies. He didn't come here to lay a guilt trip on Ridge, but after seeing his mom, who is always so together, fall apart... He knows he is putting his dad in a weird position, but he didn't know what else to do. He tells Ridge, "Mom needs our help. She needs you."

Ridge is concerned about Taylor.
Taylor is driving in her car, thinking back to happier times spent with Ridge. A car horn sounding brings her back to reality in time to jerk the steering wheel. She then flashes back to Ridge telling her that he can't stay married to her, and she cries. She hears her cell phone ring; she sees the caller ID and answers, asking Ridge what he wants. He tells her that Thomas came by and is worried about her. She says she's fine, but Ridge doesn't think she sounds fine. Taylor promises to reassure Thomas later, but Ridge is still concerned that she doesn't sound right. Taylor tells him not to be. It's just that it hasn't been easy for her lately. They had a beautiful life together, she says, but it's over, and their children are grown. She says that means he's free to make a life with Brooke, and she promises not to stand in his way. Ridge says her name; she says that she knows that he loves her and always will, but she thinks it would have been better if she didn't come back into his life. Ridge says that's not true. Taylor says she has to go; she bids him goodbye and hangs up. She then says quietly, "Good-bye, my love." She looks down at the passenger seat to put the phone down. Just then, a horn sounds and headlines shine in Taylor's face, and she looks up and screams.
