As Taylor walks down the hall at Spectra, she recalls the kiss with Hector and calls him. Seeing who it is on his display, Hector answers and says that he's been thinking about her. Taylor says that she wanted to thank him for a wonderful evening and his friendship. She thinks he's a wonderful man, but she's still wearing Ridge's ring, even if she and Ridge are separated, so the kiss last night shouldn't have happened. Maybe she shouldn't be wearing that ring, Hector suggests. She tells him to go save some lives, but he says that he wants to save her's. She says goodbye and hangs up.

Taylor tells Thomas to forget about the fashion showdown.
Thorne and Sally are in Thomas's office, admiring his latest designs. Thomas hopes they're right that these are good; if they aren't, he can't win the competition and get his parents to accept Gaby as his wife. Taylor walks in and tells Thomas that it doesn't matter who wins, since she won't let her son decide his life based on some fashion show. Thorne and Sally leave so that mother and son can talk alone. Thomas tells Taylor that he thought his dad was speaking for both of them when he proposed the competition. Taylor reminds him that she's not speaking to Ridge much these days. She wants to resolve this without a major fashion showdown. Thomas thinks it's worth the risk if Gaby can be part of their family. Taylor thinks he should think about just how big a gamble this is, whether she agrees with this contest or not. Thomas is willing to take the risk. Taylor asks him to come home, but he won't do it without Gaby. Taylor laments that Gaby has manipulated Thomas, who asks his mom why she doesn't want him to be happy. She says she does, but that doesn't mean she can just stand by while Gaby takes advantage of him and his kindness. Even if Thomas can't see that he's being manipulated, Taylor won't back down until Gaby is no longer his wife.

Thomas tells his mother that he won't let Gaby go.
The conversation stops when a newly blond Gaby walks in. Thomas tells his mother that he won't let Gaby go. Taylor refuses to budge on the issue. Gaby thinks Taylor is acting like there's something wrong with her and asks why. Taylor says that she's just protecting her son, who obviously doesn't see things as she does. Bob comes in to get Thomas to come down to the cutting room. Once they're gone, Taylor is alone with Gaby, who asks Taylor to see that she can be good for Thomas. Maybe one day, Taylor suggests, when Gaby is older and more experienced. But if she has to leave, Gaby insists, she'll never get the chance to... To marry a Forrester? Taylor asks. Gaby takes out her books and shows them to Taylor; this is why they got married, she explains. And in the process, Taylor argues, Thomas has dropped out of school so he can please his wife by winning some fashion contest. Gaby insists that she can be the kind of woman Thomas deserves. If that's so, Taylor says, then Gaby should be ready to give up the Forrester name, which Taylor won't let her have anyway.

Gaby can't understand why Taylor has a problem with her.
Gaby insists that she loves Thomas and is not taking advantage of him. She only wants to be a good wife. Taylor asks Gaby what happened to her claim that she only wanted to get a college education. Gaby tells Taylor that Thomas only wants to win this competition so he can show his family how much he misses them and bring them together. She hopes Taylor can see that and accept her, but Taylor says that will never happen. Gaby still can't understand why Taylor has a problem with her. It's because Thomas has distanced himself from his family, Taylor says, yet he still has an inappropriate amount of responsibility toward Gaby which Taylor thinks Gaby has used to her advantage. Worst of all, Taylor adds that Gaby has brought deception into Thomas's life; for that reason alone, she still thinks that Gaby will never be good enough for Thomas.

Nick is shaken when his father arrives.
Nick is still in his office at Marone, being haunted by the vision of Brooke calling to him. He calls out to the vision to stop, just as Massimo comes in. Seeing how distraught his son is, Mass insists that Nick pull himself together and get his job done. Frustrated, Nick tries to leave, but Massimo stops him and asks what's gotten into him. Nick says that nothing is wrong, but Massimo says that he's seen an atypical lack of control on Nick's part lately. He asks if there's something wrong with Bridget or the baby, Nick says they're fine, Then what is wrong? Mass wonders.
Massimo fears Nick has been entranced by a siren's song.
Nick tells his father that it's a woman, one who's in his head, no matter how hard he tries to escape. She's in the sea, with the wind blowing through her hair and the waves crashing around her, and she's calling him. Massimo realizes that it's a siren, an irresistible mythical beauty who lures sailors to her with her song. All the sailors but one crashed their boats trying to reach this "siren," and the one who survived became her lover. He warns Nick to look away from his siren, as she will lure him to his destruction. Nick says he's tried. Mass tells him to try harder, for the sake of his wife and unborn child. Nick begs Massimo to help him. Mass tells his younger son to get out of this office and go as far away from this woman as possible, because Nick's future with Bridget is at stake! Nick says he understands. Massimo gives Nick a reassuring hug. Nick then turns to leave; on the way out, he stops and tells his father that the woman is Brooke. Massimo says that he knows, and he warns Nick to stay away from her.

Dante asks Brooke if she can really forget Nick.
Brooke enters her office and remembers her talk with Nick at the wedding, where he admitted that he'll always love her. That's nothing but a memory now, Brooke muses as she comes back to reality, since Nick and Bridget are moving on. Dante comes in, raving about the great job the fabric makers did combining his art with Eric's designs. Brooke agrees that they did a wonderful job. Dante senses she's distracted and asks what's wrong. She says she's just busy, but he guesses that she is thinking about Nick. She says that she wants to forget, but she can't. Dante reminds her that Nick is married to her daughter now. Brooke figures she will just stay away from Nick until the memories fade. Cloth fades, Dante says, but feelings don't. Brooke says she'll just have to bury herself in her work. But Nick will still be in her head, Dante says. Brooke says that she'll spend time with Hope and RJ, but Dante says that won't help her fight the feelings when she's alone at night. So she'll find someone else, Brooke replies, maybe even him. Dante says that he helped her so Bridget would find peace, but he won't let her toy with his emotions. Fine, Brooke says: then she'll just stay away from Nick. Dante tells her that she won't be able to fight these feelings forever. Brooke says he's right and says she's going for a drive to clear her head. Dante offers to go with her, but she wants to be alone.

Brooke runs into Nick at Big Bear.
Soon after, Brooke sits on a bench at Big Bear and flashes back to the night when she realized Nick was the one. She tells herself that it's wrong to think about her daughter's husband. She gets up to leave and runs right into Nick. She asks what he's doing here. He says that he had to get away, so he drove up here. Then he saw her car in the mining parking lot. He asks why she's here. She says that she had to get away to clear her head, too. She needs to forget him. Nick tells her that she's in his head all the time, and he can't stop thinking about her, because he needs her. Brooke says that she needs him, too. She moves toward him, but then pulls away and says this is wrong. She tells him to forget her, but he asks how he can do that when he feels this way just standing next to her. He knows she feels it, too, so how do they stop it? Brooke looks at him, her face drawing close to his, and says that they can't. They just can't.
